This paper presents an investigation on how the startup environment fosters the development and improvement of the leadership skills of technology professionals. From the beginning of the 90s, new products and new technologies began to appear at a much faster pace and, since then, significant changes have occurred in corporate, academic environ-ments and in everyday interpersonal relationships. In this scenario, new types of business have also emerged, such as startups, considered an innovative enterprise, with the poten-tial to grow and scale. Minds ahead of all this innovation were necessary and, therefore, a new type of leader emerged. A leader who not only guides the followers but encourages leadership by them. Particularly in the startup environment, leadership becomes even more fundamental. As these entrepreneurs must keep these organizations in constant and strong growth, the ability to manage and motivate people to follow the same path becomes an essential part of the process. In this context, we aimed to answer the following research question: “How do the startup environments foster the development and improvement of the leadership skills of technology professionals?”. Aiming to answer the posed research question, we conducted a case study with four subjects. In this paper, we discuss each step of the case study and present the gathered results. As a result, we have identified three main categories of factors that promote the development and improvement of such professionals: open culture, leadership skills, and accelerated growth.

Abstract This article provides a brief account of the rise of audiobooks, from the early uses of audiobooks to make books available to the visually impaired, to the rise of Audible and the recent surge in audiobooks. It shows how the strong growth of audiobook output and sales since 2011 has been linked to a clear shift in formats: whereas CDs had been the dominant medium for audiobooks between 2003 and 2010, digital downloads became increasingly important from 2011 onwards. By 2017, digital downloads accounted for nearly 90 per cent of audiobook sales.

Turkish-African relations have consistently exhibited strong growth since Ankara declared 2005 as ‘the year of Africa.’ Turkey’s growing economic, political, and security involvement in Africa reflects Ankara’s need to establish new markets for its manufactured goods and its defense and armaments industry and present itself as a relevant regional and global actor different from traditional Western players on the continent. African countries have been astute in their engagement with Ankara in terms of exercising leverage in the evolving Turkish-African partnership. They seek to attract Turkish foreign direct investment, diversify economic and political partners to reduce dependency and fuel their state-building projects. Ankara’s domestic economic woes notwithstanding, Turkey’s growing footprint in Africa will likely continue to produce positive results for both sides.

Abstract The relevance of the topic of this work is the strong growth of multiprocessor systems, for which it is important to solve a large volume of tasks in a minimum time. There are various algorithms for solving such a problem, which can be divided into classes of exact and approximate. The representative of approximate algorithms is the algorithm of the Goldberg model, which gives acceptable results, the modifications of the crossovers of which are studied in this paper.

The aim of the research is to assess the mindset, activities and the participation of communitybased tourism enterprises in the tourists’ awareness and behavior. Tourism has the significant impact in order to develop the guideline for organizing the activities and managing the community-based tourism in reflecting the responsible environment and energy linking character and behavior of tourists. We found a strong growth mindset of entrepreneur’s community as the key factor that affected on driving the participation of tourism management. Mindset was a significant mechanism to motivate and encourage sustainable tourism in the future. Finally, it represents the responsible environment and energy systematically.

Subject Prospects for Turkey in 2022. Significance The Central Bank may cut its policy rate again tomorrow. The authorities are gambling on weakening the lira despite soaring inflation, emboldened by strong growth and a narrowing current account deficit. The main theme for 2022 will be the following year, when the Turkish Republic’s centenary will be packed with symbolism for both political sides.

A development initiative at its core, fair trade endeavors to provide better trading conditions for disadvantaged producers in the world market system, such as smallholder coffee farmers, who face a volatile market and prices that have yet to recover from a deep price crisis in the early 2000s. With the onset of labeling and certification, fair trade entered the mainstream by the late 1990s, and has continued to demonstrate strong growth in sales. Moreover, new producer organizations are becoming certified in an expanding number of countries, and fair trade coffee is expanding beyond its traditionally dominant productive center in Latin America. To explore how fair trade is established, and interacts with, new producer contexts, a case study was performed with five fair trade certified coffee cooperatives in Aceh, Indonesia, all of whom have gained certification within the last 10 years, was performed. This thesis sought to understand the particularities behind how fair trade reached Aceh, what factors influenced its implementation, and how coffee producers experience their participation in the fair trade movement. Further, particular attention was paid to the practice and formation of the cooperatives’ structures and policies; fair trade requires that coffee farmers are organized into democratically owned and governed cooperatives, an institution relatively unpracticed in Indonesia.

Abstract This paper presents the new results of computing the inclusions of sets of solutions of ordinary differential equations corresponding to perturbations acting on the solutions of the system. The regularization of algorithms for the inclusion of solutions is investigated. Inclusions of solutions are used to study the stability over a finite time interval under perturbations of the system parameters. The boundaries of solutions sets using methods that construct symbolic formulas that characterize the behavior of the system are computed. In this case, the Influence of permanent disturbances on the solutions is taken into account. It is proposed to use the parameters of the vector field of the problem in order to compensate for a strong growth of the computable solution boundaries, which is often encountered in many methods. This means the regularization of the problem of estimating inclusions of solution sets.

AbstractCompartmentalization and spatial control of biochemical reactions are essential for the creation of artificial cellular systems. But it is notoriously difficult to implement reaction networks and membrane building blocks in vitro. In this article, we briefly highlight our work on the formation of peptide-based vesicles as artificial cell precursors with a size of up to 100 µm These cell mimics are able to produce RNA aptamers and proteins at the inside, and are further capable of strong growth.
