Fashion is a rather significant mechanism that organizes the life of any society and regulates the social behavior of people. It subordinates not only the choice of clothing, interior, personal hygiene items, gastronomic tastes, musical preferences, but also the way of thinking, the formation of criteria for assessing the phenomena of reality. At the same time, fashion is not only a powerful social regulator, but also a significant cultural phenomenon, the study of which is of particular importance nowadays. In this context, the vocabulary of fashion is interesting, as, on the one hand, it enriches the Russian language due to the abundant borrowing of foreign words, on the other hand, it indicates how actively the Russian language adapts new names for fashion items, and demonstrates how Russian mentality and culture accept this vocabulary. In order to consider the Russian vocabulary in the sphere of fashion in all three aspects, it is important to trace the derivation of the lexical meaning of the denotations of the fashion semantic field in their connection with the historical period and the change in the native speakers way of thinking in different historical times of the country. To this end, it is necessary to turn to the etymology of the basic elements of the Russian wardrobe, identify their coherence with the gender of their owners and trace how this coherence has been changing over time, as well as analyze the ways of grammatical adaptation of borrowed vocabulary in the Russian language, and finally, note the functional specifics of the same lexemes in Russian and other donor languages.

The aim of the work was to analyze the mechanisms and effectiveness of dorsopathy in two ways of dredging exposure to essential oils: the known and proposed, rules-oriented biopuncture. Materials and methods. 90 patients under the age of 65 with aggravation of lumbar dorsopathy were monitored, which included tests of «Multi-Personality Study» and «Self-Education-Activity-Mood» during the survey. Electro-physiological techniques were represented by the thermography, reovaso- and dopplerography of the arteries of the lower extremities. All patients, divided into three groups, received a basic therapeutic effect. In addition, the first two groups used a mixture of essential oils: in the 1st group by massage, in the 2nd – stimulating the points of reflexotherapy. In the 3rd, the control group, used a perfume substance that does not have a therapeutic effect. The correction consisted of 10 procedures alternating through the day. The results of the study and the conclusion. The dynamics of the main indicators confirmed the reliably high performance of both oil use options – in the form of improvements in 60% and 63,3% of observations against 49,9% in the 3rd group. The verification of this was a positive change in the indicators of thermo- and reograms. On the other hand, the first two groups showed differences in the pace of achieving sustained analgesia, with the advantage of the 2nd group. These data were consistent with the tendency to normalize the mental background in these patients, confirmed by psychological testing. In general, the results of the study reflect the prospects for widespread use of essential oils in accordance with biopuncture rules, in favor of which evidence of the psycho-regulating effect of technology, indirectly affecting the level of pain threshold. Here, as a significant mechanism, in addition to the actual reflex, it is possible to assume the direct effect of low dosages of oils on the olfactory system.

A country’s electoral systems are perhaps the most significant mechanism within its constitutional order to ensure that the country’s laws and governmental system attract what Jefferson termed ‘the consent of the governed’. A recent survey of electoral laws in modern democratic societies identified six fundamental characteristics of democratic electoral systems: (i) that virtually all adults may vote; (ii) that elections are held regularly; (iii) that no large group of citizens is prohibited from fielding candidates; (iv) that all legislative seats are contested; (v) that election campaigns are conducted fairly; and (vi) that votes are secretly cast and accurately counted. This chapter examines how well Britain’s electoral system satisfies these tests, first tracing the evolution of the democratic electoral system, followed by a review of the contemporary electoral process.

Purpose The purpose of the paper is to make use of multiple parameters namely; residual energy, closeness to centre and mobility of detection point (DP) for the selection of detection point network (DPN). In the novel method proposed, the path will have less number of DPs participating in the entire DPN. Design/methodology/approach The proposed novel method will find out the special detection point (SDP) based on three criteria, namely, the amount of mobility for DP, the amount of remaining energy and the amount of distance between two DPs. This proposed method is an attempt to resolve the network lifetime problems during the communication of DPs over a period of time. It is developed for increasing the lifetime ratio, throughput, residual energy, number of alive nodes. Findings The simulation results of the novel method show the improvement over the existing methods investigated based on the lifetime ratio, throughput, remaining energy and alive nodes. Practical implications In the proposed method, the communication is done between different DPs in the network. The commutation is done using SDPs only from one cluster to another cluster. It is proposed for the implementation of energy efficient data sensing in mobile communication networks. Originality/value It is a significant mechanism for energy efficient data sensing of one DP to another DP of different clusters in the network. The total energy consumed for a period of time by the network is significantly reduced from the novel method.

Competing endogenous RNAs (ceRNA) are transcripts that communicate with and co-regulate each other by competing for the binding of shared microRNAs (miRNAs). Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) as a type of ceRNA constitute a competitive regulatory network determined by miRNA response elements (MREs). Mutations in lncRNA MREs destabilize their original regulatory pathways. Study of the effects of lncRNA somatic mutations on ceRNA mechanisms can clarify tumor mechanisms and contribute to the development of precision medicine. Here, we used somatic mutation profiles collected from TCGA to characterize the role of lncRNA somatic mutations in the ceRNA regulatory network in 33 cancers. The 31,560 mutation sites identified by TargetScan and miRanda affected the balance of 70,811 ceRNA regulatory pathways. Putative mutations were categorized as high or low based on mutation frequencies. Multivariate multiple regression revealed a significant effect of 162 high-frequency mutations in six cancer types on the expression levels of target mRNAs (ceMs) through the ceRNA mechanism. Low-frequency mutations in multiple cancers perturbing 1624 ceM have been verified by Student’s t-test, indicating a significant mechanism of changes in the expression level of oncogenic genes. Oncogenic signaling pathway studies involving ceMs indicated functional heterogeneity of multiple cancers. Furthermore, we identified that lncRNA, perturbing ceMs associated with patient survival, have potential as biomarkers. Our collective findings revealed individual differences in somatic mutations perturbing ceM expression and impacting tumor heterogeneity.

Aneuploidy causes birth defects and miscarriages, occurs in nearly all cancers and is a hallmark of aging. Individual aneuploid cells can be eliminated from developing tissues by unknown mechanisms. Cells with ribosomal protein (Rp) gene mutations are also eliminated, by cell competition with normal cells. Because Rp genes are spread across the genome, their copy number is a potential marker for aneuploidy. We found that elimination of imaginal disc cells with irradiation-induced genome damage often required cell competition genes. Segmentally aneuploid cells derived from targeted chromosome excisions were eliminated by the RpS12-Xrp1 cell competition pathway if they differed from neighboring cells in Rp gene dose, whereas cells with normal doses of the Rp and eIF2γ genes survived and differentiated adult tissues. Thus, cell competition, triggered by differences in Rp gene dose between cells, is a significant mechanism for the elimination of aneuploid somatic cells, likely to contribute to preventing cancer.

ABSTRACTAneuploidy causes birth defects and miscarriages, occurs in nearly all cancers, and is a hallmark of aging. Individual aneuploid cells can be eliminated from developing tissues by unknown mechanisms. Cells with ribosomal protein (Rp) gene mutations are also eliminated, by cell competition with normal cells. Because Rp genes are spread across the genome, their copy number is a marker for chromosome aberrations. Elimination of imaginal disc cells with irradiation-induced genome damage often required cell competition genes. When defined chromosome regions were deleted, segmentally-aneuploid cells were eliminated by the RpS12-Xrp1 cell competition pathway in an apoptosis- dependent manner when they differed from neighboring cells in Rp gene dose. Cells with normal doses of the Rp (and eIF2γ) genes survived and differentiated adult tissues. Thus, cell competition, triggered by differences in Rp gene dose between cells, is a significant mechanism for the elimination of aneuploid somatic cells, likely to contribute to preventing cancer.

Abstract Quantitative petrographic, structural, and textural parameters are integrated with geological, geochemical, and Sr-isotope data to examine the emplacement, growth processes, and the magmatic evolution of the high-Ti tholeiitic Limeira Intrusion, in the Paraná Magmatic Province - Southeastern Brazil. Our data strongly support a multiple-stage evolution, due to the nested emplacement of distinct crystal-bearing magma pulses that probably evolved independently, except at their boundaries. A stage of cooling and crystallization between magma injections originates a stepwise T-t path, leading to variations in the plagioclase residence times and effective growth rates inwards, also occasioning sudden changes in crystal shape and size at the boundaries of each magma pulse. The time delay between pulses allows preserving internal “chilled margins” and the development of near-rigid surfaces at their contacts, increasing the alignment and clustering of crystals during magma replenishment. Isotopic and textural data demonstrate a complex assembly history, in which the appearance of mixed plagioclase populations in between magma pulses coincides with the onset of initial Sr isotope ratio increase, which can be attributed to a locally enhanced cooling-rate, and the extraction of residual melts from the previous crystallizing batches and mixing with the younger pulses. Typical C- and S-shaped MgO (wt.%) compositional profiles within individual pulses indicate that the first pulse probably evolved by in situ fractional crystallization followed by melt migration inward, while the younger ones have contributions from both compaction of the lowermost crystallization front and compositional convection. Mafic globular structures are found at the boundaries of magma pulses and constituting the mafic-rich layers in layered rocks. They are interpreted as evidence for chemical disequilibrium, arguably associated with the trigger of silicate liquid immiscibility. The upwards compositional convection of the silica-rich residual liquid and the accumulation of the Fe-Ti-P-rich crystal-bearing end member in the bottom of the latest magma pulses might represent the most significant mechanism of differentiation in the Limeira Intrusion.
