This chapter used qualitative methods to collect data on the influence of Islamic values in teaching in building student character in Malaysia schools. The population consisted of different schoolteachers from Selangor and Kuala Lumpur. Online interview was used to explore those teachers' perceptions on the inculcation of Islamic values in teaching on student character building. Data were analysed using thematic analysis. From the reports, inculcation of Islamic values was found to help in building students' good character, but to make it happen, teachers are seen as role players and models. Additionally, environment, parents, and peer support also played big roles in the inculcation of Islamic values in students. Media is reported to be used wisely to help children such as showing children the programs that promote Islam and its beauties. As an implication and conclusion, for schools to have good organizational behaviour, Islamic values must be inculcated in teaching to impact positively student behaviour and attitude while becoming good persons with Islamic adab and akhlaq.

Ghosting is a student behaviour characterised by enrolling in a subject but never participating. Hence, a ghost student who remains enrolled receives a zero-fail grade. From 2022, the Job ready Graduates Package will require that only genuine students have access to Commonwealth assistance at Australian Universities and an institution may need to refund the fees of what are referred to as non-genuine students. In 2019 and 2020, 382 first-year subjects were monitored to identify disengaged students in weeks 3 and 4 of the session using learning analytics and nonsubmission of an early assessment item. Disengaged students were contacted via phone and 2-way SMS and offered timely and targeted support pre census. The total number of domestic undergraduate students receiving a zero fail has decreased during this time. To further reduce the number of ghost students, once identified as disengaged, an engagement should be mandatory to remain in the subject.

Child abuse has become prevalent in the society and has reached an alarming state. An experience of abuse creates a domino effect on a child’s learning and socialization in school, and consequently impacts their holistic development. Anchoring on B.F. Skinner’s Operant Conditioning Theory, this study investigates the undesirable school behaviour of abused children and formulates an intervention program for behaviour modification. This case study documented the school behaviour of three primary school children identified as psychologically, physically, and sexually abused by the local Department of Social Welfare and Development. These abused children were selected using purposive sampling. Data collection was conducted through pre, and post-observation using a validated research-made Student Behaviour Inventory, in-depth interview, triangulation, and validated Student Behaviour Intervention Program (SBIP) anchored on Cognitive Behavioural approaches. Data were analysed using recursive textual analysis using Lichtman’s framework: coding, categorizing, and conceptualizing. Results of the study revealed that abused children have opposition, refusal, and resistance to orders; sensitiveness; tendency towards social withdrawal, aloofness, and melancholy; feelings of inferiority; and non-compliance to school requirements. Administration of SBIP to abused children produced slight modification in their behaviour. This study implies a consideration of the SBIP and its administration to children who have experienced abuse as an intervention to modify their school behaviour.

Islamic education today has been tarnished by many students who commit immorality and violate other religious norms. Thus, currently, madrasah principals really need to make policies to revive the religious atmosphere within the madrasah in order to foster student behaviour in accordance with Pancasila education and Islamic law. Considering that the principal is also an educator, the role of the principal is very heavy and noble when linked to the various sources above. As an educator, he must be able to instil, promote and enhance various religious values. To support the creation of a religious atmosphere and comfort in the teaching and learning process, every teacher and student must always behave well and show noble character (akhlaq al-karimah).

Today’s conventional teaching and learning methods have changed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Online forms are replacing traditional education approaches. Along with the era of advanced technology, many universities are taking this opportunity to develop e-learning platforms to be used by both students and educators. This paper analyses the relationships between student behaviour, technological systems, interactive applications, institutional factors, and instructor characteristics to accept electronic learning among distance learners. A total of 479 valid questionnaires were analyzed. The result indicates that student behaviour, interactive applications, and instructor characteristics are the determinants of electronic learning. The Adoption of digital content by the institutional members & students have seen rapid growth in recent years. The students could access the content across various devices, platform & applications, which has a direct implication on the physical presence of the student. The institutions follow old & very traditional base approach like a manual record of attendance to track the company of students which consumes a lot of time & efforts from the staff members. The study looks at the various technologies available in the market & present the implementation of the best possible solution. The latest use of technology of Facial Recognition with a combination of RFID will enhance the tracking process & also provide valuable insight into student behaviour. The data collected by the system can further utilize to improve the efficiency & effectiveness of student behaviour patterns & predict the learning trend, which will help the institutions to make the correct decisions

This study examined the effect of orientating library programming around the reading of manga by special education students in a secondary school. Data was collected through observation, student and teacher interviews, and videotaping student discussions of two novels. A social community of readers was established that altered student behaviour and views of reading.

Most universities collect large amounts of students' data to enhance teaching, understand student behaviour, and predict their success. However, such practices raise privacy and ethical issues due to sensitive data harvesting practices. Despite the recognised importance of this topic, few empirical studies address how students perceive the ethical issues related to predictive learning analytics (PLA). To redress this, interview data collected from 42 undergraduate and postgraduate students in a Northern Irish university were thematically analysed. Findings suggest that there are at least three distinct groups of students having varying assumptions about ethics in PLA. They are (1) naïve and trusting, (2) cautious and compromising, and (3) enlightened and demanding, and all of them tend to narrowly focus only on the issue of informed consent. An empirically supported argument for the need for PLA researchers to recognise the within-group variations in student populations and to educate all types of students in issues related to ethics is presented.
