Abstract We have implemented the basic steps for the FDK backprojecting algorithm in computed tomography. Application works from the set of preloaded projections and uses OpenCV libraries for FFT, convolution, frequency space image filtering, image’s brightness, contrast and quality manipulation. Compared to the desktop implementation, the calculation-intensive part of the application was moved to the asynchronous background task hosted by an android fragment. This allows the task to survive the application’s configuration changes and to run in the background even if the main activity was destroyed. The minimalistic interface with the access to all main backprojecting parameters was implemented. The result of backprojection is saved as an image in the download folder of the phone. The user also has the control over the reconstructed slice location along the Z axis.

Abstract Privilege control is an important problem to be solved in the operation of the intranet network of military industry. Solidifying the operation process and replacing the operation personnel with machines to complete configuration changes can reduce the frequency of manual operation by privileged personnel, thus limiting the operation privilege and improving the security of intranet network. Aiming at the high security and high efficiency requirements of operation of intranet information equipment, this paper designs an operation automation mode. Aiming at the problem that it is difficult for tools to adapt to heterogeneous equipment, this paper studies the commands adaptive technology for heterogeneous equipment based on abstract atomic operation. In addition, the model and technologies are verified by a specific scene of equipment location change. The results show that the above model and technologies achieve the goal of ensuring the security of operation and improving the efficiency of operation.

Abstract An experimental study performed in an air channel using gradient heatmetry is presented, for a configuration of three heated circular cylinders with different distance between them. Cylinders were installed one by one. The main objective is to analyze the heat flux fluctuations, employing gradient heat flux sensor. The behavior of the flow in the wake behind the first cylinder under various regimes, for the specified configuration, changes the fluctuations level at the surface of the second and third cylinders. By visualizing the flow using PIV, it was possible to see areas of stagnation, separation points and other features of flow around the model. The results showed that the fluctuations level for the second cylinder is an order of magnitude lower than for the first. We can say that the first cylinder stabilizes the flow. However, at the third cylinder, this level is comparable and even higher than on the first. Use of gradient heatmetry thus made it possible for the first time to estimate the fluctuating nature of the flow and heat transfer around cylinders.

Abstract Background With the increased awareness and push for earlier diagnosis of colorectal cancer, the number of patients undergoing colonoscopy is increasing. Being a common condition, a number of these patients will have herniae. We describe a rare complication during a Sigmoidoscopy in a patient with an Inguinal hernia. The case A 75-year-old man was booked for a flexible sigmoidoscopy for rectal bleeding. The scope was successfully inserted to the Splenic flexure. During withdrawal, the scope stopped moving. It was still possible to advance the scope, but not to withdraw. The patient confirmed the presence of a left inguinal hernia. Physical examination and the position on magnetic scope imager confirmed the loop in the hernia. Various manoeuvres to withdraw the scope were unsuccessful. A colleague was called for a second opinion. We came up with a plan to maintain a ‘long loop‘ position in the hernia, by holding the scope through the scrotum and allowing it to slide on withdrawal. This was successful and the patient was discharged. Discussion Incarceration of the scope in the hernia occurs when the hernial defect permits entry and exit of the scope, leaving a loop in the hernia, in a long loop position. During withdrawal, the configuration changes to a short loop, crowding the hernial defect, preventing the scope from sliding. On searching literature, we found that this technique has been described by Koltun et al and is known as the “Pulley” technique. We suggest that colonoscopists are familiar with this technique.

Based on the cardiovascular and digestive problems of obese patients, this paper adopted the cloud computing method and selected 100 subjects with big data (23 normal weight subjects, 3740 overweight patients, and 40 obese patients) as the research objects, studying the heart configuration and their digestive system of obese people. Results show that BMI = L (24 ≥ BMI > 27.9) and BMI = XL (BMI > 27.9) were identified as target correlation projects in this experiment, associated with each cardiac structural parameters, respectively. Cloud computing facilitates early detection, early prevention, and early intervention in heart configuration changes in overweight and obese patients.

AbstractFree-flying robots have been recently developed to operate on-board the International Space Station (ISS) as semi-autonomous robotic assistants. NASA Astrobee robots are the new free-flyers proposed by NASA, and equipped with a 3 degree of freedom manipulator. This research aims to realize an accurate mathematical model of the robot attitude dynamics, and an attitude controller for the NASA Astrobee system. The robot has been modeled coupling the attitude dynamics with the manipulator motion, and robust attitude controllers are proposed to stabilize disturbances and configuration changes induced by the manipulator usage. First, a second-order twisting sliding mode controller is designed to achieve a trade-off among control law flexibility, robustness and accuracy. Among robust control strategies, sliding mode controllers are characterized as low complexity, and low computational cost control methods, making the system able to achieve reactivity and stability also when parameters are changed. The performance of the proposed control method are compared with a backstepping controller that include an iterative algorithm to compute an adaptive control, as function of disturbances and orientation error. The performance are evaluated and analyzed considering several scenarios in Matlab Simulink simulations, and combining Simulink and ROS Gazebo to run co-simulations with the NASA Astrobee simulator. Simulations with variable body mass, links masses, and different gripped objects have been run to test the controllers performance in off-design conditions.

Modern control systems in the maritime domain are increasingly controlled by software systems and become subject to updates and configuration changes during operation. Moreover, with the shift to autonomous vessels and cars, these software-based systems are taking on more and more safety-critical tasks, so the risks associated with system failures are increasing. Unlike before, it becomes necessary to verify the continuously adapting modules of a vehicle not only before deployment, but to establish continuous verification capabilities during all phases of the product lifecycle, from the design to the system in operation. Hence, in case of an update, deviations from the expected behavior can be automatically detected and relevant measures can be initiated. In this work, a contract-based verification framework is presented that includes automatable and formally analyzable behavioral descriptors in form of assumption-guarantee contracts for all phases of the software lifecycle to provide static and dynamic verification capabilities alongside a dynamically changing system composition. By utilizing contractually defined behavior descriptions, classic test procedures, such as simulations, are supplemented by a formally testable level that is applied to all phases of the update process. A conceptual-deductive methodology was chosen, building on the identified requirements to develop an overarching update framework that adds contractual descriptions to the traditional development case. Based on the presented framework, the verifiable modification of a safety-critical software system is demonstrated. The approach is evaluated using a maritime collision-avoidance system and the verification steps are evaluated along the update process. The framework offers a novel approach to complement existing test procedures by enabling formal impact analysis and incremental verification of updates.
