Abstract Series arc fault is the main cause of electrical fire in low-voltage distribution system. A fast and accurate detection system can reduce the risk of fire effectively. In this paper, series arc experiment is carried out for different kinds of electrical load. The time-domain current is analyzed by Morlet wavelet. Then, the multiscale wavelet coefficients are expressed as the coefficient matrix. We use HSV color index to map the coefficient matrix to the phase space image. Random gamma transform and random rotation are applied to data enhancement. Finally, typical deep residual network (ResNet) is established for image recognition. Training results show that this method can detect faults in real time. The accuracy of ResNet50 is 96.53% by using the data set in this paper.

Based on aerial photographs interpretation from 1957 to 1988 and satellite images interpretation from 2005 to 2020, data on avalanche phenomena in the regions of the Central Caucasus (basins of the Baksan, Cherek and Mamikhdon rivers) are presented. Avalanche facts were established as a result of comparing different-time aerospace images and their GIF animations on the features of shadows of the snowy areas from the irregularities of avalanche deposits, the presence of avalanche snow-patch in the spring-summer period, in nature and vegetation ranges, as well as on a unique space image at the time of avalanche.

Abstract We have implemented the basic steps for the FDK backprojecting algorithm in computed tomography. Application works from the set of preloaded projections and uses OpenCV libraries for FFT, convolution, frequency space image filtering, image’s brightness, contrast and quality manipulation. Compared to the desktop implementation, the calculation-intensive part of the application was moved to the asynchronous background task hosted by an android fragment. This allows the task to survive the application’s configuration changes and to run in the background even if the main activity was destroyed. The minimalistic interface with the access to all main backprojecting parameters was implemented. The result of backprojection is saved as an image in the download folder of the phone. The user also has the control over the reconstructed slice location along the Z axis.

Although many theories have been proposed to describe the nature of glass formation, its microscopic picture is still missing. Here, by a combination of neutron scattering and molecular dynamics simulation, we present the temperature-dependent atomic structure variation of polystyrene at the glass formation, free volume and cooperative rearrangement. When it is close to glass formation, the polymer is confined in tubes, whose diameter is the main chain–main chain distance, in a “static cage” from its neighbors. This definition can not only account for the kinetic pathway dependence of Williams-Landel-Ferry (WLF) free volume, but also be testified in a set of six polymers. However, the free volume which allows a monomer to move cannot be found in any frame of its real-space image. Monomers, thus, have to move cooperatively to be out of the cage. During glass formation, dynamic heterogeneity develops, and string-like cooperative rearrangement region (CRR) grows over a long range of time and length scales. All of these CRRs tend to walk through loose “static cages”. Our observation unifies the concepts of free volume and cooperative rearrangement. The former is a statistical average leading to a polydisperse “static cage” formation; while a loose “static cage” provides the way that CRRs move.

Aim. The purpose of the work is to process archival cartographic materials and remote sensing data for the interpretation of objects of historical and cultural heritage (OHCH) of Cherkasy, including those that have not been preserved. Method. One of the possible technological schemes for research is offered. According to her, the first step was to analyze the input data of the study, among which were: a map of Cherkasy in 1895 at a scale of 1:42000; German aerial image of 1944; a fragment of a space image of Cherkasy obtained from the GeoEye-1 satellite in 2018. Geometric correction of the input materials was performed in the Mercator projection and the WGS84 coordinate system, in which the transformed image was obtained. The next step was to vectorize the objects of historical and cultural heritage of Cherkasy, according to the list obtained on the city’s website. There are two types of objects: point and polygonal. When vectorizing polygonal objects, the historical boundaries were specified with the help of archival maps and aerial images. Special symbols have been developed for each of the types of historical and cultural heritage sites, according to the proposed classification. In addition, an attributive database of these objects was created, which had the following structure: number of the passport of object, the name of the object, the address of the OHCH, the number of the decision to take under protection, information about the OHCH. Also, the obtained vector data was exported to the exchange format with the extension kmz and an online version of the thematic map was created on the basis of the free GISFile resource. Results. As a result of the conducted researches, the thematic GIS of the objects of historical and cultural heritage of Cherkasy was created, which are plotted on the space image of high spatial resolution, obtained in 2018. An on-line version of the GIS of Cherkasy historical and cultural heritage sites has been created on the basis of the free GISFile cartographic service, with the possibility of analyzing the location of these objects and building optimal tourist routes. Scientific novelty. Possible algorithms for creating offline and on-line versions of thematic GIS are proposed. Practical value. The obtained results of mapping the objects of historical and cultural heritage of Cherkasy can be used by the structures of protection of objects of historical and cultural heritage of Cherkasy at the Ministry of Culture.
