We present two new results about exact learning by quantum computers. First, we show how to exactly learn a k-Fourier-sparse n-bit Boolean function from O(k1.5(log⁡k)2) uniform quantum examples for that function. This improves over the bound of Θ~(kn) uniformly random classical examples (Haviv and Regev, CCC'15). Additionally, we provide a possible direction to improve our O~(k1.5) upper bound by proving an improvement of Chang's lemma for k-Fourier-sparse Boolean functions. Second, we show that if a concept class C can be exactly learned using Q quantum membership queries, then it can also be learned using O(Q2log⁡Qlog⁡|C|)classical membership queries. This improves the previous-best simulation result (Servedio and Gortler, SICOMP'04) by a log⁡Q-factor.

This study intended to identify which referent features are more frequently selected in the naming of the concept class of places and, in turn, determine which are the preferred conceptualizations in Mapudungun. This language is mainly spoken by Mapuche people in central and southern areas of Chile and in the Central-West area of Argentina. To identify the features of this conceptualization, a cognitive-semantic analysis of the conceptual patterns of 112 nominal compounds pertaining to the concept subclasses of natural places (intervened and non-intervened) and non-natural places (installations and territorial divisions) was conducted. Results show that, for non-intervened natural places, an entity present in the natural place is preferably selected in the name, whereas for intervened places, an agricultural activity or an animal associated to the place is preferably chosen. Concerning installations, the preferred conceptual pattern specifies, by means of the constituent ruka ‘house’, the man-made nature of the place. Regarding territorial divisions, the preferred naming pattern combines two place concepts. This information is crucial for the creation of neologisms in Mapudungun because it guarantees that newly formed lexical units are coherent with the Mapuche worldview and do not import foreign models.

The proficient knowledge revolution with the concept class detection is a significant challenge for the incremental learning classification, here the batch of data is flowing unremittingly. The algorithm recommended in this research learns continual raw data, transform preceding knowledge to the present data without stating to the longstanding data and able to proficiently allow new concept class noticed by the classification. A major aim was knowledge transformation and the accumulation of the same with concept class detection in the incremental data flow. After the analysis of non-incremental ML approaches for classification and incremental learning algorithms in the literature, this research introduces new incremental learning algorithm, which uses twosome classifiers, in which knowledge transformation and new class detection have been done efficiently. The performance of the system is validated using simulation results on available datasets. The class wise and batch wise accuracy is calculated. The projected technique is also used to detect concept class detection.

This article is dedicated to the peculiarities of functionality of argot of French police officers on derivational and semantic levels. The analysis of empirical material determined the key trends of derivation of the reference group, as well as the link between the leading functions of argotic lexicon with selection of ways and sources of harvesting lexical repertoire. It was revealed that in argot of French police officers prevails derivation based on the imagery reconsideration: metaphor allows realizing ludic function of argot, while metonymy is more often used for crypto-alalic purpose. The argot of French police officers also features an active process of borrowing lexemes from other languages; American and British versions of English language serve as the main donors. In the course of research, the author determines the semantic dominants of argot of French police officers: in lexical repertoire prevail the lexemes related to various type of legal violations, which similar to other argots, due to the thematic limitation of lexicon is nonfunctional. In majority of instances, synonymic rows include lexemes with different connotation; however, in some areas, the series is comprised of lexical units allowing to designate differentiation within the concept class. Using particular examples, the article explores other types of wordplay based on polysemy and homophony. It is noted that wordplay on the basis of homophony carries spontaneous character, while other types are more complicated and require certain background knowledge.

Abstrak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan LKS berbasis inkuiri dengan pembelajaran konvensional menggunakan LKS  terhadap kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa kelas XI IPA SMA Negeri 17 Batam. Jenis penelitian ini adalah quasi eksperiment dengan populasi 160 orang. Sampel penelitian adalah kelas XI IPA 4 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas XI IPA 3 sebagai kelas kontrol. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan purposive sampling. Instrumen penelitian berupa tes essay sebanyak 4 soal yang telah valid dan reliabel ( ). Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah uji-t satu pihak untuk hippotesis 1 dan 2 serta uji-t polled varians untuk hipotesis 3 dengan taraf  keyakinan 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) pembelajaran menggunakan LKS berbasis inkuiri berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa kelas XI IPA SMA Negeri 17 Batam; (2) pembelajaran konvensioanal dengan menggunakan LKS tidak berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa kelas XI IPA SMA Negeri 17 Batam; (3) terdapat perbedaan antara pembelajaran menggunakan LKS berbasis inkuiri dengan pembelajaran konvensional menggunakan LKS terhadap kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa kelas XI IPA SMA Negeri 17 Batam. This research aims to determine the effect of using inquiry-based student’s worksheet with conventional learning using student’s worksheet on the ability to understand mathematical concepts of class XI IPA SMA Negeri 17 Batam. Type of this research is a quasi experiment with the entirety population XI IPA SMA Negeri 17 Batam with amount 160 students. The research sample is XI IPA 4 as the experiment class and XI IPA 3 as the control class. The sampling technique used purposive sampling. The intrument of this research is an essay test, which is 4 questions and has been valid and reliable ( . The data analysis technique used is one part t-test  for hyphoteses 1 and 2 with polled varians t-test for hyphoteses 3 with a 5% certainty level. The results showed that: (1) learning using inquiry-based student’s worksheet affected on the ability of understand mathematical concept class XI IPA SMA Negeri 17 Batam; (2) conventional learning using student’s worksheet hasn’t effect on the ability of understand mathematical concept class XI IPA SMA Negeri 17 Batam; (3) there is a difference between learning using inquiry-based student’s worksheet with conventional learning using student’s worksheet on the ability to understand mathematical concept class XI IPA SMA Negeri 17 Batam. keywords: Student’s Worksheet, Inquiry, Student’s Mathematical Concept Understanding Ability.

Perpustakaan digital merupakan suatu aplikasi yang menyimpan berbagai data tentang dokumen-dokumen akademik seperti buku, jurnal, tugas akhir mahasiswa, majalah maupun prosiding. Teknologi penyimpanan dalam suatu perpustakaan digital biasanya menggunakan basis data relasional. Namun, basis data relasional masih bersifat kurang dinamis untuk menyimpan data tersebut secara semantik sehingga menyebabkan keterbatasan penelusuran yang dialami oleh banyak pengguna. Ketika pengguna melakukan penelusuran pustaka, terdapat kesenjangan pemahaman makna kata kunci antara mesin dan pengguna dan mesin tidak dapat memberikan hasil yang relevan sesuai dengan keinginan pengguna. Salah satu aplikasi perpustakaan digital yaitu Sistem Informasi Referensi JTETI UGM yang memberikan hasil yang tidak relevan kepada pengguna akibat kesenjangan pemahaman makna kata kunci ketika melakukan penelusuran. Dalam upaya menyelesaikan kesenjangan pemahaman makna kata kunci ini maka dilakukan perancangan ontologi untuk menyimpan informasi yang dimiliki oleh SIRREF JTETI UGM secara semantik. Ontologi menjadi dasar yang baik  untuk  membangun  fungsi  semantik  pada  perpustakaan digital sehingga dapat memberikan layanan yang efektif kepada pengguna. Perancangan ontologi pada SIRREF JTETI UGM dilakukan menggunakan metodologi pengembangan ontologi METHONTOLOGY yang mengklasifikasikan 4 concept (class) yaitu Person, Publication, Department dan  Keyword. Rancangan ontologi  yang telah dibentuk dapat menjadi teknologi penyimpanan informasi pada pembangunan web semantik SIRREF JTETI UGM untuk penelitian selanjutnya.
