This work presents the regulation of temperature in an indirect multitrays solar dryer with oriented flux under the irradiance fluctuation. The temperature regulator using a negative temperature coefficient (NTC) as a sensor and fans is designed, and a similar device is also used to measure humidity through a sensor. Inlet and outlet dryer temperature and temperature on the three trays have been recorded with the regulation system according to different airflow modes. Irradiance and humidity have also been recorded. The model of outlet temperature with energy storage was given by using heat transfer equations. The results have shown that in the linking airflow mode, the average temperature on the three trays is 51.3 ± 1.5a°C, 52.18 ± 1.4a°C, and 51.9 ± 1.2a°C, respectively, with 52°C as setpoint temperature and NTC fixed on tray number 2. With temperature sensor in the same tray and 51°C as setpoint temperature, the average temperatures on the three trays are 51.86 ± 1.54°C, 51.60 ± 1.16°C, and 50.42 ± 1.13°C, respectively, in mixed mode, whereas in crossing airflow mode, the temperature gradient does not allow regulation on all trays. The regulation is possible when the temperature in the dryer chamber exceeds the set point temperature by more than 5%. The proportional type corrector is suitable for the temperature controller in indirect solar dryers. When the energy source is unstable, humidity which is a variable parameter is used to mark the end of drying instead of time.

Abstract The thermal stability of n/n+ β-Ga2O3 epitaxial layer/substrate structures with sputtered ITO on both sides to act as rectifying contacts on the lightly doped layer and Ohmic on the heavily doped substrate is reported. The resistivity of the ITO deposited separately on Si decreased from 1.83x10-3 Ω.cm as-deposited to 3.6x10-4 Ω.cm after 300°C anneal, with only minor reductions at higher temperatures (2.8x10-4 Ω.cm after 600°C anneals). The Schottky barrier height also decreased with annealing, from 0.98 eV in the as-deposited samples to 0.85 eV after 500°C annealing. The reverse breakdown voltage exhibited a negative temperature coefficient of -0.46 V.C-1 up to an annealing temperature of 400°C and degraded faster at higher temperatures. Transmission Electron Microscopy showed significant reaction at the ITO and Ga2O3 interface above 300°C, with a very degraded contact stack after annealing at 500°C.

Abstract NTC (Negative Temperature Coefficient) thermistors are widely used as temperature sensors in industrial and medical applications due to their high-temperature sensitivity, durability, and low cost. Generally, NTC thermistors are made from spinel structured ceramics formed by transition metal oxides with the general formula AB2O4. One of the spinel structured ceramics that can be made for NTC thermistors is NiFe2O4 nanoparticles. This work aimed to prepare Cu-Mn co-doped NiFe2O4 based thick ceramic film using Jarosite mineral as a precursor. The synthesis method used was a simple coprecipitation method, while the technique used in making a thick ceramic film was a simple screen printing technique. The sintering temperatures used were 1000 °C, 1100 °C, and 1200 °C. Based on x-ray diffraction analysis, the thick films consist of spinel phase, hematite phase, and some unidentified phase. The constant thermistor values (B) for thick films obtained with 1000, 1100, and 1200 °C sintering temperatures were 4740 K, 5669 K, and 5731 K, respectively. These results showed that all obtained thick films had passed the minimum value in market needs (B ≥2000 K).

The viability of the use of ortho-cresol as a bio-blendstock or antiknock additive from lignocellulosic biomass is assessed; Ignition delays of ortho-cresol within blends with iso-octane are measured with the ULille rapid compression machine, and compared with results from the literature; It is shown that ortho-cresol has a strong inhibiting effect on the reactivity towards ignition, most notably in the Negative Temperature Coefficient region; This effect is found to originate from competition with iso-octane on the OH radicals, where the reactivity of ortho-cresol with these radicals does not lead to radical chain-branching.
