Abstract: This essay will address the influence of Pablo García Baena (Córdoba, 1921-2018), a founding member of the literary group Cántico (Córdoba), in the poetry of Ana Rossetti (San Fernando, 1950), particularly her book Devocionario (1986). To achieve this, attention is paid to the poetic work of both writers, showing common aspects in their aesthetics, such as the outstanding use of language —rich in nuances and details—, the exaltation of the senses, and, mostly, the use of Catholic imagery, to which both resort with a decorative rather than a religious purpose. This comparative study will also approach some of the keys of Devocionario, which has been misunderstood by the critics. Particularly, scholars have exaggerated the erotic component of this book.

In 2021, the Society of Practitioners of Health Impact Assessment (SOPHIA) celebrates its 10-year anniversary.  As part of the celebration, we asked founding SOPHIA members and key SOPHIA leaders to reflect on the organization’s formation in 2011, to share their thoughts on SOPHIA’s key challenges and to highlight important accomplishments. Respondents also weighed in on the future of SOPHIA and the value of SOPHIA membership.  Research was conducted using written surveys, interviews, and review of written material.  Surveys were sent in July of 2021 to eleven active SOPHIA members, many of whom have served as president, vice president, board member or founding member for SOPHIA.  Of the eight survey recipients who were interviewed or completed the written survey, nearly all have been conducting Health Impact Assessments (HIAs) for 10 or more years. Survey respondents’ HIA experience included assessments focused on a variety of policies, projects and programs, including housing, land use, economic security, the built environment, transportation, immigration policies, minimum wage policies, criminal justice and more. This article includes information gleaned through written material review; however, it is largely based on the feedback, insights and experiences shared by survey respondents verbally and in writing.

One of the most pressing issues in the world today is the protection of children's rights. A major event in this area was the adoption of the 1989 UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. At the time of the development and adoption of the Convention, Ukraine and Azerbaijan were part of the USSR. However, the Ukrainian SSR, unlike the Azerbaijani SSR, was the primary founding member of the United Nations and therefore participated in the development and adoption of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, like Turkey, whose observers also participated in this process. This article examines the participation of Ukraine, Azerbaijan and Turkey in the development and adoption of the 1989 UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. However, the adoption and ratification of the Convention is only the first step in the realization of children's rights at the national level. The national special laws of Ukraine, Azerbaijan and Turkey in the field of protection of children's rights are also studied. This article concludes on the different direction of the special laws of these countries. Moreover, there are some differences in the content of the laws, namely some of them includes not only rights, but also the duties of the child. The state of protection of children's rights in Ukraine, Azerbaijan and Turkey is a priority and urgent issue in the state policy of these countries and needs to be improved. The conclusions provide recommendations for improving the legislation of these countries.
