Strategic planning is a deliberative, disciplined approach to producing fundamental decisions and actions that shape and guide what an organization is, what it does, and why it does it. Although strategic planning comes first from the private sector, it can, in fact, lead to successful strategy implementation in the public sector. Public institutions need to implement a performance management system in order to provide better public service to citizens, to promote sustainable public policies, to ensure a transparent decision making process, to spend the public money in an efficient and accountable way, and to achieve measurable results in implementing strategies, programs and projects. The objective of this study is to verify what is being studied in the field of government strategic planning in the past five years, considering articles indexed in the Web of Science database. The study shows that the main topics of concern are related to urban and metropolitan planning, reform and budget cuts, and studies verifying the effectiveness of strategic planning in the public sector.

Many factors are important when planning and implementing strategies for teaching in the multiple disability/cross-categorical classroom. No two students' needs are alike; however, two areas are invariably a topic of discussion and lead many of the decisions being made in the individual's educational program: communication and presumed competence. The following chapter includes student narratives for a child with multiple disabilities as well as a child with autism spectrum disorder. Each child exhibits a significant communication delay and is considered to be non-verbal. The narratives along with strategies used to support the students have been included. Common misconceptions about augmentative and alternative communication use and presumed competence among students with significant communication needs are examined as well as research and theory concerning these areas.

With regard to the scientific debate which highlights the potential of joint climate planning, there are few concrete experiences in Europe where this approach has been applied. This contribution focuses on critical methodological and application aspects of the processes underlying the development of Joint Plans for Sustainable Energy and Climate in the supra-municipal area as emerged from the direct participation of the authors in the Joint_SECAP project funded by the Interreg Italia-Croatia programme. This paper presents a comparative analysis of nine case studies in Italy and Croatia with a focus on fundamental aspects of the planning process: the governance model, shared knowledge framework, risk and vulnerability assessment, and participatory process. The analysis and comparison of the Joint_SECAP experiences confirm that joint climate planning, developed in the framework of the European Covenant of Mayors (CoM) initiative, is effective for creating synergy between local authorities and for defining and implementing strategies and actions for adaptation to the territorial scale. Finally, the research indicates some recommendations to overcome the barriers that impede the spread and effectiveness of this approach to climate planning. In particular, it highlights the need to enhance collaboration between local authorities, regions, and CoM coordinators.

This study investigated the effects of a brief video intervention on attitudes toward counseling services. Two hundred and seventy-seven participants were divided into four groups (anxious-preoccupied, dismissive-avoidant, fearful-avoidant, and secure) by their attachment scores. Then, the participants of each group were randomly assigned to three conditions (stigma-reducing, utility-enhancing, and control). A split-plot factorial design was performed to examine the intervention effects. The results indicate that the stigma-reducing video intervention was more effective for the anxious-preoccupied group, whereas the utility-enhancing video intervention was more effective for the dismissive-avoidant group than other groups. These results suggest the importance of implementing strategies tailored to each attachment group.

The company always faces challenges both internally and externally in managing resources and achieving organizational goals. To be able to compete, corporations need to manage the complexity and uncertainty in the market environment by improving management. To date, few studies are available to verify the items required for business, particularly banking as a guide for designing such complexities. In this regard, this study seeks to provide validity items that are useful for the world of corporate banking, in managing the complexities of the external environment and in formulating and implementing strategies. By combining the concept of human resource management, socio-economic factors through a dimensional measurement with a stakeholder approach, the study findings demonstrate several important keys for banks to manage external elements and strategies as a guide to measuring effectiveness that can be used as a basis for further studies.

Abstract Area Agencies on Aging (AAAs) have played an important and well-documented role in meeting the nutritional and wellness needs of older adults during COVID-19. To better understand the continued impact of COVID-19 pandemic on AAA services, partnerships, and clients, the National Association of Area Agencies on Aging surveyed the nation’s 618 AAAs in February 2021, with a 27% response rate. As a result of COVID-19, most AAAs reported both increased numbers of new clients and needs of existing clients; three-quarters of AAAs developed new external partnerships; and over half are implementing strategies to address equity and inclusion regarding their services and clients. Nearly 80% of AAAs are involved with COVID-19 vaccine outreach and delivery, from scheduling appointments to administering the vaccine to homebound clients. We will describe these and other transformations of services, partnerships, and client needs; discuss challenges and opportunities; and provide examples and video vignettes from AAA directors.

This research focuses on the management of madrasa-based education quality improvement strategies in North Sulawesi. The research was conducted at three madrasah, namely Manado State Madrasah Tsanawiyah (MTs Negeri 1 Manado), Bitung State Madrasah Tsanawiyah (MTs Negeri 1 Bitung) and Kotamobagu State Madrasah Tsanawiyah (MTs Negeri 1 Kotamobagu). The research method used is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of this study indicate that the Strategic Planning for improving the quality of madrasa-based education at MTs Negeri 1 Manado, MTs Negeri 1 Bitung and MTs Negeri 1 Kotamobagu City is carried out by involving all components of madrasas and stakeholders in an effort to improve the quality of madrasa education while still referring to Islamic values as a characteristic of madrasas. The implementation of the strategy to improve the quality of madrasa-based education is realized by implementing work programs in planning for improving the quality of madrasas such as education and training/training, workshops, seminars, organized by the government, ministries and universities. The impact of implementing strategies to improve the quality of education in madrasas can be seen from a number of indicators such as increased learning outcomes, which can be seen from academic and non-academic achievements achieved by students in various activities, and competitions.
