Businesses are bombarded with great deals of risks, vulnerabilities, and unforeseen business interruptions in their lifetime, which negatively affect their productivity and sustainability within the market. Such risks require a risk management system to identify risks and risk factors and propose approaches to eliminate or reduce them. Risk management involves highly structured practices that should be implemented within an organization, including organizational planning documents. Continuity planning and fraud detection policy development are among the many critically important practices conducted through risk management that aim to mitigate risk factors, their vulnerability, and their impact. Information systems play a pivotal role in any organization by providing many benefits, such as reducing human errors and associated risks owing to the employment of sophisticated algorithms. Both the development and establishment of an information system within an organization contributes to mitigating business-related risks and also creates new types of risks associated with its establishment. Businesses must prepare for, react to, and recover from unprecedented threats that might emerge in the years or decades that follow. This paper provides a comprehensive narrative review of risk management in information systems coupled with its application in fraud detection and continuity planning.

Exporting has been one of the fastest foreign expansion strategies in the last two decades. The purpose of this study is to investigate the role of an exporter's location in the development of export-related resources and capabilities, which will have an impact on the degree of export performance. The relationship between export-related resources, capabilities, and export performance are examined in this study. A total of 300 questionnaires were sent out to coffee and sesame exporters. However, only 253 surveys were used for analysis. The SmartPLS 3 software was used to analyse the data using the Partial Least Squares (PLS) technique. The study's findings suggest that access to location-specific resources and skills are critical antecedents for a company's ability to build export-related resources and capabilities in order to improve export performance. The geographic location of a company has a considerable and beneficial impact on human resource capability (β =0.67, p=0.001). Information capability was not significantly influenced by human resource capability ((β =0.082, P=0.259). Information capability ((β =0.656, p=0.001) is significantly influenced by organizational planning capability ((β =0.452, p=0.001). Satisfaction Export Performance ((β =0.431, p=0.01) has been significantly and positively influenced by information capability. New Product Development Capability influences strategic export performance significantly and positively ((β =0.330, p=0.001). Strategic export performance ((β =-0.035, P= 0.820) and satisfaction with export performance ((β =0.050, P= 0.625) were not affected by relationship capability. These data suggest that when it comes to exporting, rural businesses face significantly greater obstacles than those in metropolitan areas. The outcomes of this study will assist managers of remote-area businesses in developing equally appealing recruitment and reward practices in order to compete with businesses in urban areas. Furthermore, the outcomes of this study advise that export firm managers think carefully about the resources and capabilities required to improve their export performance.

Purpose This study aims to present a method to carry out technological foresight exercises in university technological research and development centers (TRDCs). The results support the organizational planning process. Design/methodology/approach The authors review the literature on the frameworks of foresight. The authors propose the use of quantitative (bibliometrics) and qualitative (expert meeting, Delphi) techniques. The authors apply this method to each research topic of interest of the TRDCs. Findings The application of the method to a research topic allows us to analyze the relevant knowledge areas for the development of that topic and its global trend. For each area, the authors identify the specific lines of research with the greatest growth and relevance. Considering these lines, the authors make a diagnosis of the TRDC situation regarding how to provide knowledge to decision-makers. Research limitations/implications The paper reviews the results of the application in the Engineering Institute of the National Autonomous University of Mexico and in the research topic “Seismic risks in civil engineering.” It is necessary to adjust the application of the method in other TRDCs to the conditions of the organization and to the development achieved by the TRDCs in the analyzed research topic. Originality/value There is no detailed literature on technological foresight exercises in university TRDCs that support the planning process of the organization. The method represents a proposal to establish priority research topics and specific research lines in research institutes, particularly universities. The authors present the application in a university TRDCs in Mexico.

Introduction: Arbaeen Pilgrimage is one of the world’s largest religious gatherings held in Iraq on the occasion of the 40th day of Imam Hussein martyrdom. The identification of the problems and challenges facing the Arbaeen Pilgrimage is of great help in holding this event safer in the future. The present study aimed to review the challenges of health services provided to pilgrims during the Arbaeen Pilgrimage in 2019. Methods: This cross-sectional study was performed within one month after the end of this event. The statistical population comprised three million applicants registered by the Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization of Iran. Out of this population, 1,200 subjects who had participated in the event were selected using simple random sampling. The needed data were collected using a researcher-made questionnaire containing closed- and open-ended questions. Demographic characteristics, medical records, and subject comments were included in the questionnaire. The researchers contacted the participants and filled out the questionnaire. Results: The mean age of participants was reported as 41.2±14.1 years, and the majority of them (65.7%) were male. The cold mostly caused the need for medical services. In total, 9.5% of the participants did not receive services, and 90.9% received them from the Iranian Red Crescent Society(IRCS). According to the results, 95.4% of those who received services from the IRCS and 82.4% of those who received services from other service providers were satisfied with medical services. Conclusion: Iraq’s health system is faced with numerous challenges during the Arbaeen Pilgrimage. These challenges are multiplied due to infrastructural shortcomings in Iraq’s health system, the lack of precise planning, as well as attendees' unpreparedness and unawareness. To obtain pilgrims’ satisfaction and minimize the problems, the authorities of Iraq’s health system should participate, synergize, and provide health equipment and facilities in cooperation with organizations from other countries participating in the Arbaeen Pilgrimage. Comprehensive multi-organizational planning and intra- and extra-organizational coordination before the Arbaeen Pilgrimage and training the pilgrims are two key factors that can help the better organization of this event.

HEI organizational planning, quality, and information management seem three distinct and disjointed disciplines. A formidable intertwined troika can underscore the strong successful management of HEI performance. QPIT (Quality, Planning, Information Troika) operational parameters are: (1) strategic, tactical and operation planning management of planning; (2) quality assurance management of teaching & learning; student development, learning resources, IT, infrastructure, financials, HR, research and societal responsibilities affecting student effectiveness; (3) ICT information management seamlessly integrating planning and quality management systems through BI tools data analytics for performance management. For improved productivity and performance, this paper proposes a holistic integrated electronic HEI performance management framework based on the integrated QPIT Framework. A university case study illustrates the electronic integration of e-PMS (Performance Management System underscoring HEI quality-accreditation-information-planning-performance management.

The objective of this work was to create a scale to assess the level of customer satisfaction in a restaurant, using the Two Parameter Logistic Model (2PL) of the Item Response Theory (IRT). For this, a questionnaire was applied to 640 customers, including 28 restaurant attributes related to the indoor and outdoor environments, with food and service. The results shown in most respondents are satisfied with the specified effects, with the most recommended items being payment options, a location in the restaurant and its size and structure. Also note that all items had a good fit with the 2PL, so there is no need to exclude them. Consequently, it was possible to build an interpretable scale with four levels for customer satisfaction. In addition, it was possible to evaluate the questionnaire and identify which latent screening interval is most appropriate. The application of permitted adjustments allows to locate the items on the created scale, as well as to identify those that deserve greater attention in the organizational planning of a restaurant.
