AbstractThis paper examines how the value of entrepreneurship by gender is related to regional behaviour. Researchers have traditionally defined entrepreneurial organization as separate to gender and to economic growth. Using the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM) we complete a dataset of 50 countries using variables such as total early-stage entrepreneurial activity (TEA) and opportunity-driven entrepreneurial activity (OPP). The methodology used proposes an analysis of regional convergence, comparing the evolution over time of both the rate of entrepreneurial activity and the ratios of opportunity-driven and need-driven entrepreneurial activity, distinguishing by gender. On the other hand, a regression model is proposed that explains the greater presence of female entrepreneurship. The results show that entrepreneurship by gender is an important factor to define different cluster of countries according to how men and women entrepreneurs create new economic opportunities.

The decline in the growth rate of the country's economy leads to an increase in the interest of various sectors of society in the search for effective ways of organizing work in the face of increasing universal digitalization. In the post-pandemic world, the able-bodied population needs new ways of earning money, the opportunity to work in their spare time, the presence of a flexible schedule, as employers are increasingly striving to optimize the costs of business processes, including personnel. Therefore, domestic employers are waiting for the development and growth of the institution of freelance, which requires an active restructuring of labor relations. The application of the gig economy as a new socio-economic model of entrepreneurial organization has influenced the emergence of modern forms of labor organization, such as outsourcing, subcontracting, freelance, remote work, outstaffing, which represent the possibility of partial employment. Such forms of labor relations are mainly in demand in the service sector and IT organizations. The aim of the study is to study the directions of transformation of forms of organization of labor activity in domestic and foreign business in conditions of transition to gig-economy. The study analyzed the development prospects of gig-economy as one of the directions of digital transformation of the economy. Also, on the basis of a synthesis of expert assessments and surveys of the population, features and prospects for the development of freelance in Russia were formed. Based on the study, the following main results were obtained: the main trends in the development of the gig economy were identified; analyzed the theoretical and practical aspects of the development of gig-economy as one of the developing areas of the digital economy; statistical assessment of the studied direction is given; the problems of organization of freelance in conditions of gig-economy are covered.

AbstractIn an attempt to become more flexible and responsive, corporates increasingly collaborate with start-ups. By doing so, corporates hope to make a transition towards a more entrepreneurial organization or to rejuvenate their organizational culture and working practices. We present the results of a multiple case study in which we compare eight corporate—start-up collaborations that achieved different success rates in terms of promoting corporate renewal. Our focus is on the corporate individuals that participate in the collaboration and we combine literature on corporate entrepreneurship with institutional theory to study the conditions under which these individuals are more likely to exhort transformational agency and to contribute to renewal. Our results indicate that the effect of corporate—start-up collaborations on renewal is mediated by two individual-level mechanisms: reflexivity and intrinsic motivation. In addition, we identify several organizational contingencies that affect both the likelihood that corporate individuals adopt a reflexive orientation and are intrinsically motivated as well as the likelihood that their transformational efforts are successful.

The current pandemic crisis has also had evident effects on the labour market. Higher Education contexts must increasingly rethink themselves if they want to promote employability. The essay, starting from the triangulation between profession, professionalism and professionalization and from the current reflection on employability, finds in Entrepreneurial Education the crisis solution. In particular, it proposes to understand Higher Education Institutions as Entrepreneurial Organization in which processes are activated for the development of research and narrative competences.

Cultural entrepreneurship is a process that focuses on entrepreneurial resources, identifies and legitimates new startups, and improves organizational performance. Although scholars of this subject have viewed entrepreneurs as cultural agents, for example, who either strike a balance between cultural resources and constraints or decouple their ventures from cultural constraints while coupling them with cultural resources, they have overlooked another possible behavior that cultural agents might display. In the present study, the authors attempt to uncover another facet of cultural entrepreneurship and conduct a case study focusing on a new entrepreneurial organization (subcontractor) that became a parts supplier for an automaker (user company). Our findings show that the subcontractor’s entrepreneurs shaped its culture by drawing on the external cultural constraints coded by the user company’s culture ( between-organization cultural isomorphism), and they also used internal cultural resources to foster an entrepreneurial culture and to stimulate exploratory innovations ( within-organization culture shaping).

This study examines survival strategies for Small and Medium Construction Firms (SMCFs) at infancy stage as well as the factors affecting the adoption of these strategies. The study area is Uyo Metropolis in Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria. The study employed stratified random sampling technique to select a sample for the study. Primary data obtained from 103 validated questionnaires, administered to professionals in the built environment are analysed using percentage, mean score and Kruskal Wallis test. Results reveal that all the strategies examined in this study are significant for the survival of SMCFs at infancy stage; dominant among the factors are: innovativeness, required skills, willingness to take risk, entrepreneurial attitudes and behaviours, entrepreneurial organization structure and strategies, and financial resource management. The results further reveal that the dominant factors affecting the adoption of survival strategies for SMCFs at infancy stage are: availability and access to finance, the poor state of the country's infrastructure, poor managerial/executive capacity of the implementing agencies, characteristics of entrepreneurs and failure to adapt to the changing business environment. The study recommends that in addition to regular training to acquire required skills for effective management of the firms, SMCFs should also adopt any or a combination of the strategies highlighted, to survive in the current dynamic and competitive construction environment.

The article considers the regulatory support present in Ukraine as for the functioning of the education system, including all its levels and subsystems, the activities of various educational institutions, public or private, irrespective of their attendance modes. The analysis of definitions of the "innovative university" term suggested by various scientists has been carried out thus allowing the author to consider this concept within the functional approach. It has been determined that the given terms are similar in their meaning, but still the difference between them is rather significant. For a deeper understanding of the concept, decomposition of the abovementioned definitions into the main components has been made according to the following points: the essential component of the concept; activity areas of the innovative university; the mission of an innovative university. The "innovatively active university" has been defined as an entrepreneurial organization that possesses the resource readiness to promote accelerated social and economic development through intensive transfer of knowledge and technology generated at the university due to partnership relations established with stakeholders (labor market actors, government and NGOs). Models of the innovative university and their distinctive features have been suggested. The main characteristics of the innovative university that contribute to the development of new systems and management processes have been outlined. The ways of managing innovative universities have been considered and the management framework of educational innovations at a university has been offered. Prospects for further research in this area lie in the following: analyzing the competitive strength of universities around the world to determine the internal and external features of an innovatively active university, helping it to achieve and maintain a high level of competitiveness and attractiveness.
