In modern warfare, when the weapon system and the targets are constantly being improved and upgraded, ensuring the distribution of firepower to optimally destroy the target will help the commander to make quick and accurate decisions, thereby improving combat effectiveness. This paper proposes a method to build a command-control automatic system based on solving the weapon target assignment (WTA) problem in a combination of short and medium-range air defense missile systems so that the total damage of targets is maximum and the damage of protected area is minimum. Based on combinatorial optimization algorithms, the probability of kill, linear programming method using Hungarian algorithm, the paper presents a mathematical model of WTA and its optimal solution for short- and medium-range air defense missile systems serving the training simulation problem, thereby giving the results of evaluating the effectiveness of the algorithm.

In modern conditions of combat use the SA-19 “Grison” anti-aircraft gun missile system fires at small targets (drones) and typical targets (helicopters and attack aircraft), so a number of problems arise. In particular, they include: finding the value of the probabilities of hitting the target with n shots and one shot; assessing the effectiveness of the SA-19 “Grison” platoon‟s concentrated fire on a single target; estimating errors of missile guidance and warhead detonation system; estimating the values of conditional probabilities of hitting a target with a single missile, depending on the value of particular mishit. When calculating the slant range to the far edge of the SA-19 “Grison” weapon's kill zone under different conditions of use, factors that reduce these ranges should be taken into account. An analysis of the main studies and publications presented in [1-9] does not make it possible to determine the performance of missile and artillery weapons in shooting at small-size targets. This literature provides general approaches to solving this problem. The purpose of this article is to develop a model for calculating the values of conditional probabilities of destruction of small targets, to form the best options for repelling an enemy‟s air strike, as well as to justify the general directions of improvement of weapon‟s elements.

The paper introduces and analyzes the results of research into the development of anti-aircraft missile systems through the example of the first Russian anti-aircraft missile system S-25. The study describes the capabilities of the anti-aircraft missile system as the implementation of the requirements specifications in the context of the development of military aviation technology and electronic warfare means and emphasizes the importance of cooperation between enterprises — developers of guided missile weapons. Although the latter issue is poorly covered in the Russian scientific, technical, and educational literature, it is an important problem in organizing the development of missile systems. The paper is the first to provide detailed data on the content and timing of the stages of modernization of the S-25 system, and also presents graphic material that clearly demonstrates the change in the capabilities of the S-25 system due to an intensive change in the characteristics of military aircraft.

The possibilities of application of known methods for estimating the life to the task of forecasting the ultimate state of radio-electronic means of the surface-to-air missile system during the operation status of the requested technical. A procedure for constructing a mathematical model of change of reliability in service with the Group Method of Data Handling, which is more fully into account the specific characteristics of radio-electronic means of the surface-to-air missile system and considers the possibility of use as basic data for the creation of models not uniformly precise results of estimation of an indicator of non-equal exact measuring to operational supervision.

The Polish armed forces have used the S-200 Vega surface-to-air missile (SAM) system since the middle of the 1980s. In the early 21st century, it was upgraded to a digital version and adapted to the reality of air combat at the time. After almost twenty years of service since its upgrade, it remains the only long-range SAM in the armament of the Polish Air Force. Today, this SAM system is undergoing a major modification, again, to maintain its long-range anti-air attack potential and the required combat functionalities. The objective of this paper is to identify the technical and tactical functioning conditions of the S-200 family of SAM system on the modern battlefield. In order to achieve this goal, the authors used theoretical methods of research. As a result of the conducted analyzes, this paper presents the operational experience gained so far and a justification for the continued service of the Vega SAM system.

This study aims to observe laser technology applications in two critical sectors which are military and medical. These two crucial sectors required a technology that is compatible with the nature of the field; safe, precise and fast (time –saving). A laser is defined as a device that emits a focused beam of light by stimulating the emission of electromagnetic radiation. The characteristics of lasers; coherence, directionality, monochromatic and high intensity are very suitable to be used in the critical sectors. In the military sector, the implementation of laser is commonly used in various types of weapons manufacturing. In this paper, three different military weapon systems namely weapon simulator, laser anti-missile system and navy ship laser weapon system were studied. Meanwhile, in the medical sector, the laser is widely implemented in medical equipment especially in dentistry, surgery and skin treatment. The capability of laser technology to be adapted in the critical sectors can be further investigated and enhanced for future discovery.

Due to the rapid development and wide application of air attack weapons, air defence missiles against them are increasingly important and have become the main air defence weapons in modern war. However, interception strategy of air defence missile system is ignored in previous studies. Thus, using the combinatorial optimization, this paper proposes a methodology to optimize the strategy of ADMS in a missile-target interception process in order to minimize the expected costs for defender. According to the practice, the considered process has multiple targets and multiple phases, and the expected costs are composed of the loss caused by targets and the cost for intercept missiles. Two numerical examples are presented to illustrate the proposed methodology. The results of the examples show that interception strategies have a great impact on the expected costs of ADMS during a missile-target interception process.

Russian-Turkish military-political cooperation is expressed in the provision of military assistance to the Middle East from Russia and Turkey. Joint military cooperation between the two powers in resolving the situation in Syria also took place. The purchase by Turkey of the Russian S-400 Triumph anti-aircraft missile system contributed to the discontent of the leadership of NATO and the NATO countries, including over the purchase by Turkey of the S-400 air defense system. Opinions of Western and Russian experts on the deployment of the Russian military S-400 system in Turkey differ. The imposition of US sanctions against the Republic of Turkey demonstrates NATO's commitment to double standards. The acquisition of the S-400 anti-aircraft missile system is associated with the need to protect the airspace of Turkey from terrorist attacks, as well as with Turkey's desire to create its own national military missile system. The sharp reaction of the United States and NATO to Turkey's purchase of an anti-aircraft missile system from China ended with a ban on the import of fifth-generation F-35 fighters into Turkey. All this contributes to strengthening the military power of the Turkish army in the fight against terrorism, since the effectiveness of the S-400 missile system in the modern world is known. The steps taken by Turkey in the geopolitical world, including the beginning of close military cooperation between Russia and Turkey in the Middle East, speaks of the disagreement between Turkey and Russia with the unipolarity of the world. The attempts at rapprochement between Russia and Turkey since the times of the Russian and Ottoman empires and the attempt at rapprochement between the two powers in the 20th century speaks of the independent foreign policy of Russia and Turkey.
