Palabras clave: Transporte público, derecho a la ciudad, movilidad cotidiana, barrio precario, equidad de género AbstractThis thesis focuses on the daily mobility on public transportation of women residing in a precarious neighborhood of Cuenca. Palabras clave  Movilidad en Latinoamérica, Liberalización del Transporte Público - “combi”, Centralidad Interdistrital, Ciudad Popular, Dispersión Urbana AbstractThe objective of the study analyzes the implications of the liberalization of public transport in the development of the new urban centralities of the capital of Peru. Centralities that emerged in that self-built popular city, where the public transport network, based on the so-called "combis", was determinant in its evolution. In this way the transcendent meaning of the reciprocal relationship between mobility and urban structuring is reconsidered. Linking the process of dispersed urban growth, road structuring, productive conglomerates, and the characteristics of mobility over time; and how these have contributed to shape the urban morphology and dynamics of the city, understanding from this approach the urban model in Lima between the end of the twentieth century and the beginning of the twenty-first century. The research uses a mainly quantitative method to demonstrate the relationship between mobility and urban structuring, and how this proportion is related to economic concentration. For this, a model of connectivity and accessibility has been developed to and from the centralities studied. In this way the mobility-transport component is taken as a conditioner in the urban and territorial processes, that in contrast to the centralities associated to suburban motorway nodes of highly motorized societies, in Lima, is the system of public transportation "combis" Is who reinforces these centralities. KeywordsMobility in Latin America, Public Transportation Liberalization - "combi", Interdistrict Centralization, Popular City, Urban Dispersion.

This article analyses the impact that the confinement measures or quarantine imposed in Spain on 15 March 2020 had on urban mobility in the northern city of Santander. Data have been collected from traffic counters, public transport ITS, and recordings from traffic control cameras and environmental sensors to make comparisons between journey flows and times before and during the confinement. This data has been used to re-estimate Origin-Destination trip matrices to obtain an initial diagnostic of how daily mobility has been reduced and how the modal distribution and journey purposes have changed. The impact on externalities such as NO2 emissions and traffic accidents have also been quantified. The analysis revealed an overall mobility fall of 76%, being less important in the case of the private car. Public transport users dropped by up to 93%, NO2 emissions were reduced by up to 60%, and traffic accidents were reduced by up to 67% in relative terms.

Automobile traffic has been recently on the rise in many post-socialist cities despite EU policies fostering public transportation and active modes of travel. Against this background, the contribution of this paper is to look deeper into the travel behaviours of residents using a survey of 887 questionnaires as well as GPS travel recordings (almost 3 billion logs) conducted in the city of Poznań (539,000 inhabitants). Based on our analysis we found that proximity to public transport and cycling infrastructure seem to be among the most important factors influencing travel behaviours of inhabitants. What is more, their accessibility affected also residential locational preferences. However, we also observed that even in neighbourhoods with good accessibility, commuting by car plays a major role.

Urban transportation is gradually becoming one of the most pressing problems in India.  An efficient system of transport that could accommodate a continuously increasing need of movement for people as well as goods is the need of the hour.  Transportation not only facilitates movement of goods and people but it also serves multiple other activities to sustain life ranging from economic, political to social. Economic reasons are what are given the most weightage some of them being expansion of markets and stabilization of prizes in different markets. But the more pertinent ones remain hidden as they are social in nature since opportunities to travel open a gamut of economic as well as social opportunities like meeting various people and exposure to various cultures and places that bring in a lot of awareness among travelers. The present paper tries to understand the preferences of residents of Gandhinagar city which is the capital of Gujarat state. This understanding leads to a summary of what people expect of today’s state-run road public transport service and thereby providing policy implications for public transport.
