This paper provides a quantitative assessment of research output in SAARC countries in the domain of Fishery Science. The primary data for this study have been sourced from Scopus database for the period 1994 to 2021. The findings of the study highlight that a total of 1190 publications of different forms are available with 8820 citations with an average citation per year per document of 1.732 and annual growth of 4 articles per year in the 28 years window. The growth rate of publication is found to be highly consistent. A total of 4784 authors contributed their research items in the period of study and the number of multi-authored or collaborated works are found to be maximum (4750) and only 34 publications are found to be single-authored with a degree of collaboration of 0.99. India is the leading nation among the other SAARC nations with 75.97% of the publication (904 publications) and 8164 citations to those publications. Khan, MA is found to be the author with the highest number of publications (35) but Harikrishnan, R is the most influential author (highest g-index = 27) with 1100 total citations in 27 publications.Aquaculture Research is the journal with maximum publications (66). There exists a significant correlation between h-index and g-index in authors and journals.

Coronavirus constitutes a family of RNA viruses causing respiratory tract infections in both humans and birds. A mild disease appears like the common cold, and in other cases, causes Severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS), Middle East respiratory syndrome (MERS), or COVID-19. As compared to COVID-19, SARS and MERS were limited to certain countries. On the other hand, COVID-19 was declared a pandemic by the World Health Organization on Mar. 11, 2020. In this research, we perform the bibliometric assessment of Coronavirus research using the Scopus database. We studied 27,824 articles written by 64,903 researchers from 1951 till June 20, 2020, published in 3,858 different sources. More than 65% of research appeared in the form of articles. More than 34% of publications appeared in 2020, coinciding with the appearance of COVID-19. This also resulted in a sharp increase in the average citation from 2.2 observed in 2019 to 14.5 seen in the year 2020. The USA is the most-cited country, followed by China. Nevertheless, Russia appears as the most-cited country per year.

Scientific reviews are a publications type, which is very important for the world scientific community. This article considers reviews positions in the world publication flow (within the database «Wed of Science Core Collection» (WoS CC) array) for six natural sciences research areas (physics, chemistry, mathematics, geology, biology, computer science) during the period 2010–2019 for the leading countries of the world and Russia. The article considers additionally this type documents citation specialties depending on the research area.By means of the WoS CC database, bibliometric parameters of publication flows of scientific reviews for the six mentioned research natural sciences areas were determined: the number of records, it’s percentage in the total publication flow, the place of Russian reviews in the world flow, the average citation rate, the proportion of not cited records, the period of active citation. The dynamics of changes for these parameters over time (2010–2019) is considered.The article establishes the following features of scientific reviews, as a specific publication type:the percentage of reviews in both the world and Russian information flow is relatively small, it significantly depends on the research area, but over time it increases for all research areas;the trends of changes for the Russian reviews flow over time and in all research areas, follows world trends;Russian reviews occupy places, in terms of quantity, from 6–9 to a place in the fifth ten in the world array of WoS CC documents (depending on the year and research area), but they show a large spread in average citation terms. Sometimes, Russian reviews average citation is approaching and even exceeds the world average citation for some years and some research areas (and sometimes significantly);the non-cited reviews publications share is significantly lower than even for articles (the most cited type of publications);the reviews active citation period reaches 9–10 years and is significantly longer than (from some publications opinion) for scientific publications in general.

Abstract Information about the relative strengths of scholars is needed for the efficient running of knowledge systems. Since academic research requires many skills, more experienced researchers might produce better research and attract more citations. This article assesses career citation impact changes 2001-2016 for domestic researchers (definition: first and last Scopus journal article in the same country) from the twelve nations with most Scopus documents. Careers are analysed longitudinally, so that changes are not due to personnel evolution, such as researchers leaving or entering a country. The results show that long term domestic researchers do not tend to improve their citation impact over time but tend to achieve their average citation impact by their first or second Scopus journal article. In some countries, this citation impact subsequently declines. These longer-term domestic researchers have higher citation impact than the national average in all countries, however, whereas scholars publishing only one journal article have substantially lower citation impact in all countries. The results are consistent with an efficiently functioning researcher selection system but cast slight doubt on the long-term citation impact potential of long-term domestic researchers. Abstract Background In recent decades, the 5-year survival rate of osteosarcoma remains poor, despite the variety of operations, and exploration of drug therapy has become the key to improvement. This study investigates the contribution of different aspects in osteosarcoma and cure, and predicts research hotspots to benefit future clinical outcomes. Methods The Web of Science and PubMed databases were queried to collect all relevant publications related to osteosarcoma and cure from 2009 to 2019. These data were imported into CiteSpace and the Online Analysis Platform of Literature Metrology for bibliometric analysis. Bi-clustering was performed on Bibliographic Item co-occurrence Matrix Builder (BICOMB) and gCLUTO to identify hotspots. Additionally, completed clinical trials on osteosarcoma with results past phase II were collated. Results A total of 2258 publications were identified in osteosarcoma and cure from 2009 to 2019. China has the largest number of publications (38.49%), followed by the United States (23.03%) with the greatest impact (centrality = 0.44). The centrality of most institutions is < 0.1, and Central South University and Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center possess the highest average citation rates of 3.25 and 2.87. BMC cancer has the highest average citation rate of 3.26 in 772 journals. Four authors (Picci P, Gorlick R, Bielack SS and Bacci G) made the best contributions. We also identified eight hotspots and collected 41 clinical trials related to drug research on osteosarcoma. Conclusions The urgent need exists to strengthen global academic exchanges. Overcoming multidrug resistance in osteosarcoma is the focus of past, present and future investigations. Transformation of the metastasis pattern, microenvironment genetics mechanism, alternative methods of systemic chemotherapy and exploration of traditional Chinese medicine is expected to contribute to a new upsurge of research.

Objective: To evaluate the top 30 most-cited articles in the literature on os odontoideum. Methods: A search using the Web of Science database and the search phrase "os odontoideum" was conducted. The 30 most-cited articles on osodontoideum were analyzed. The study was performed in May 2020. We searched for articles published between 1920 and 2020. Articles were sorted and ranked according to the total number of citations. We evaluated the following information of each article, including first author, journal, title, number of citations, average citation per year, and author affiliation. Results: A total of 357 studies matched our search criteria, of which the top 30 most-cited ranged between 232 and 60 citations. The article by Dickman et al. published in Neurosurgery, was the most-cited article with a total citation of 232, followed by Dickman et al. with 221 and Smoker et al. with 179. Menezes was the most cited first authors, with 4 articles, followed by Dickman with 3 articles. Child's Nervous System, Journal of Neurosurgery, and Spine were three most frequent destination journals. Most of the articles originated from the United States (n=24) and University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics published 6 articles and was the highest in the number of most-cited articles. Most of the articles focused on the clinical management of osodontoideum (83.3%). Conclusion: The current study confers a better understanding of current treatment strategies and the advances in the management of osodontoideum. It helps guide the clinical management and academic achievements.

Background: To date, no citation analysis has been conducted in the physical activity field, which can contribute to assess the impact of this research field and identify knowledge gaps. Therefore, this study aimed to identify the 500 most cited physical activity publications and report their bibliometric characteristics. Methods: The Web of Science database (all database indexes) was searched, and bibliometric characteristics were imported and calculated. Results: A total of 520 publications were ranked as the top 500. The sum of the citations was 326,258, and the average citation density was 41.0 (45.1) citations per year. Original research articles constituted the major portion of included publications (53.7%; 170,774 citations). Papers reporting relationship of physical activity with health were the most prevalent type of publication included (43.7%; 141,027 citations). Journal impact factor had a weak but significant positive correlation with citation density (r = .12; P = .006). The United States was ranked first in terms of the contributions from institutions and authors contributing to the most cited physical activity papers. Conclusions: Top physical activity publications are well cited compared with other health behavior fields. Original research reporting on the associations between physical activity and health has a higher citation impact compared with other types of original research within the physical activity field. The physical activity research field continues to expand rapidly as newer publications attract more citations in a shorter time span compared with older publications.

Folate receptor is expressed on a wide variety of cancers and certain immune cells. Methods A Web of Science search was performed on folate receptor or folate binding protein (1969-to June 28, 2019). The following information was examined: publications per year, overall citations, top 10 authors, top 10 institutions, top 10 cited articles, top 10 countries, co-author collaborations and key areas of research. Results In total, 3248 documents for folate receptor or folate binding protein were retrieved for the study years outlined in the methods section search query. The range was 1 per year in 1969 to 264 for the last full year studied (2018). A total of 123,720 citations for the 3248 documents retrieved represented a mean citation rate per article of 38.09 and range of 1667 citations (range 0 to 1667). Researchers in 71 countries authored publications analyzed in this study. The US was the leader in publications and had the highest ranking institution. The top 10 articles have been cited 7270 times during the time frame of this study. The top cited article had an average citation rate of 110 citations per year. Network maps revealed considerable co-authorship among several of the top 10 authors. Conclusion Our study presents several important insights into the features and impact of folate receptor research. To our knowledge, this is the first bibliometric analysis of folate receptor.

This study examined the research publications of the faculty of Thiagarajar College of Engineering (TCE), Madurai, Tamilnadu, India. Data for this study have been collected from the Scopus and web of science databases for 2014-2018. Among 1270 papers published and indexed in the Scopus for five years and 437 papers published and indexed in the web of science. This paper shows how to use an excel sheet for calculating the h-index, i-10 index, average citation per year, cited rate, percentage of cited and non-cited paper, real average citation, etc.… Apart from the above analysis, this paper finds the overlap publications of Scopus and Web of Science.
