In this contribution we address the issue of family and technoscience. We define techno-science as knowledge applied to all areas of reality. We approach on the topic of the nuclear family and the couple and then we expose our previous contributions on family and human biotechnology and we update and expand our knowledge on it. We focus on the impact that the Covid-19 syndemic is having on family life and then we explain the impact that the latest advances in Genetic Engineering, especially Gene Editing (CRISPR) are taking into account. We expose the disputes that are generating both the cloning and the recent modification of embryos and we finally highlight the need to continue researching to achieve a harmonious and favourable relationship with techno-science.

The purpose of the article is to draw attention to the fact that the Polish legal system features system-related guarantees of the rights of the detainee which are regulated in a multi-centric system of law, consisting of a set of constitutional norms and legal international norms, which create the models of judicial control of detention in a Polish criminal lawsuit. The article puts forward a thesis that the Polish system features the socalled dispersed control of constitutionality, which is erroneously considered a synonym of the concept of the so-called direct application of the constitution. The questions under discussion are analysed by means of a formal-dogmatic method. The article also discusses the possibility of the participation of assistant judges in the exercise of judicial control of detention, with reference to the recent modification of the system-based position of assistant judges.

This article is devoted to a new Marshall-Olkin distribution by using a recent modification of the Lindley distribution. Mathematical features of the new model are described. Utilizing maximum likelihood method, the parameters of the new model are estimated. Performance of the estimation approach is discussed by means of a simulation procedure. Moreover, applications of the new distribution are presented which reveal its superiority over other three competing Marshall-Olkin extended distributions of the literature.

Objective: The aim of the study is to evaluate the efficacy of upcoming operative combination of fistula laser tract closure [FiLaC] + submucosal ligation of fistula tract [SLOFT] in treating anal fistulae. Background: The treatment of anal fistulae is predominantly surgical. To attain a minimum recurrence healing, the surgical methods have gone through a chain of transitions. One of the fresh developments has been a hybrid of FiLaC and SLOFT, sometimes described as distal laser proximal SLOFT [DLPS] procedure. Materials and methods: The study was winded up on a total of 24 patients since September 2019 to August 2020. All, regardless of type of fistula, underwent an operative blend of FiLaC and SLOFT, after explaining the pros and cons of the bouquet of surgical options available. Results: The results of FiLaC and LIFT [Ligation of intersphincteric fistulous tract] have been individually questioned over past years. SLOFT is a recent modification inculcating the benefits of LIFT and at the same time, snagging for the cryptoglandular complex with minimal dissection. Conclusion: Our study on 24 cases has strengthened the togetherness of FiLaC and SLOFT in treating anal fistulae.

In a free-recall experiment, the presence of 'the drawing effect' in relation to VARK learning preferences was examined in high school students. Participants were asked to draw and write out a list of presented words and afterwards completed a questionnaire to identify their VARK learning preferences. There was no statistically significant difference between the number of written words recalled versus the number of drawn words recalled. Further, no relationship between VARK learning scores and the drawing effect was identified. This experiment indicates that high school students of all VARK preferences do not display the drawing effect which may reflect a nuance in adolescent cognition or the recent modification of high school instructional practices. The findings of this study may encourage high school educators to focus more on quality of content rather than medium of presentation to create memorable lessons. Further research may determine whether the results of this research are consistent across age groups and with other high school student demographics.

Today the space of our universe is filled with invisible stuff matter which expanding under the action of gravity which was dark matter. In 1990’s astronomical observation and theoretical calculation was leading astrophysicists to believe that not only the dark matter but also there is vacuum empty space filled in universe that is dark energy. It is suggested that the apparently disparate cosmological phenomenon attributed to so called “dark matter” and dark energy arise from quantum level of space -time itself. This creation of space time results in metric expansion. A recent modification of Einstein’s theory of general relativity by Chadwick, Hodgkinson and McDonald incorporate space time expansion. Recent evidence predicts that apparent amount of dark matter increases with age of universe. In addition proposal leads to the same result for the small but non-vanishing cosmological constant, related to dark energy.

AbstractThe present paper discusses the issue of Serial Verb Constructions (SVCs) in Biblical Aramaic within the dynamic grammaticalization-based model of verbal serialization – a recent modification of a prototype-driven approach to SVCs used in linguistic typology. Having analyzed the entire corpus of Biblical Aramaic, the authors conclude the following: (a) verbal serialization constitutes an integral part of the verbal system of Biblical Aramaic; (b) pre-canonical SVCs are more common that canonical SVCs, and no cases of post-canonicity are attested; (c) Biblical Aramaic is a semi-advanced serializing language. Overall, the research corroborates the tendency of Semitic languages to gradually increase their serializing profile; a tendency that is often – albeit not without exception – correlated with the languages’ relative chronology.

Stokes flow, discussed by G.G. Stokes in 1851, describes many microscopic biological flow phenomena, including cilia-driven transport and flagellar motility; the need to quantify and understand these flows has motivated decades of mathematical and computational research. Regularized stokeslet methods, which have been used and refined over the past 20 years, offer significant advantages in simplicity of implementation, with a recent modification based on nearest-neighbour interpolation providing significant improvements in efficiency and accuracy. Moreover this method can be implemented with the majority of the computation taking place through built-in linear algebra, entailing that state-of-the-art hardware and software developments in the latter, in particular multicore and GPU computing, can be exploited through minimal modifications (‘passive parallelism’) to existing Matlab computer code. Hence, and with widely available GPU hardware, significant improvements in the efficiency of the regularized stokeslet method can be obtained. The approach is demonstrated through computational experiments on three model biological flows: undulatory propulsion of multiple Caenorhabditis elegans , simulation of progression and transport by multiple sperm in a geometrically confined region, and left–right symmetry breaking particle transport in the ventral node of the mouse embryo. In general an order-of-magnitude improvement in efficiency is observed. This development further widens the complexity of biological flow systems that are accessible without the need for extensive code development or specialist facilities. This article is part of the theme issue ‘Stokes at 200 (part 2)’.

In this paper, efficient modification of Adomain decomposition method is proposed to solve nonlinear partial differential equations. Yields solution in rapid convergent series from easily computable terms to get exact solution, and yields in few iterations we get exact solution. Moreover, this modification does not require any linearization, discretization, or perturbations and therefore reduces the computations. Two illustration examples are introduced and illustrate the procedure of modification is simple yet highly accurate and rapidly converge to exact solution compares with the ADM or other modifications. The methodology presented here is useful for strongly nonlinear problems.
