This novel converter proposes a Multiple Input and Multiple Output (MIMO) power conversion approach for step-up and step-down processes in AC-DC, DC-DC, AC-AC and DC-AC conversions. This versatile converter is designed by using power electronic switches, for AC-DC and AC-AC conversions thyristors are preferred, whereas DC-DC and DC-AC operations require both turn-on and turn-off control so that transistor (IGBT) is the most suitable switch. The proposed converter is highly recommended for multiple source and multiple output operations, but it can perform one conversion at a time. Power rating of the converter can be up to kilowatts during DC-DC and DC-AC conversions process and AC-AC and AC-DC conversions rating may extend up to megawatts. Simulation model of the MIMO converter is examined in the MATLAB simulink model and the same verified in the real-time test bench model. Conversion in all the stages can be controlled by a digital controller according to the requirement. All four conversions can perform step-up as well as step-down process, so design of inductor and capacitor values are very much important. All four modes of operations for thyristor-based transistors and two diode-based transistors are used to ensure switching operations. Novelty of the research work is conversion of power in all the modes can be bidirectional and also in single-stage process, but in the existing systems of power conversions is a unidirectional process. Proposed single-stage power conversion has more efficiency because of low switching losses. This proposed converter was designed by using mathematical analysis, tested at simulation level and verified in the real-time experiment.

PubMed Central® (PMC) is a free full-text archive of biomedical and life sciences journal literature at the U.S. National Institutes of Health's National Library of Medicine. PMC receives about 70,000 XML articles every month and uses XSLT to convert them into its preferred format. In 2021, PMC started to explore options to modernize its extensive conversion codebase leveraging XSLT 3.0. This paper describes XML conversion and its challenges at PMC. It then outlines the first approach that PMC is evaluating: breaking a single conversion operation into multiple, dynamic transformations using fn:transform, one of the powerful new tools available with XSLT 3.0.

Different types of interactions between pairs of phonological rules can be converted into one another using three formal operations that we discuss in this article. One of these conversion operations, rule re-ordering (here called swapping), is well-known; another, flipping, is a more recent finding (Hein et al., 2014). We introduce a third conversion operation that we call cropping. Formal relationships among the members of the set of rule interactions, expanded by cropping beyond the classical four (feeding, bleeding, counterfeeding, and counterbleeding) to include four more (mutual bleeding, seeding, counterseeding, and merger), are identified and clarified. We show that these conversion operations exhaustively delimit the set of possible pairwise rule interactions predicted by conjunctive rule ordering (Chomsky & Halle, 1968), and that each interaction is related to each of the others by the application of at most two conversion operations.

This paper presents simulation and experimental verification of a single stage DC to AC boost inverter for solar photovoltaic (SPV) applications. This topology integrates the boost converter inside the conventional h-bridge inverter topology. This eliminates the need for a separate boost converter. The whole system requires four basic switches of an h-bridge inverter for both boost and DC-AC conversion operation. Overall, the efficiency is improved because no additional switch is required for the boosting operation. The duty cycle variations are implemented using sinusoidal pulse width modulation (SPWM). The firing pulses for switches used in the h-bridge inverter are provided using Arduino-Uno platform. The principle of operation along with the simulation and experimental results are also presented.

The purpose of the paper is to find out under the influence of which external impulses and according to which vectors events in the field of shipbuilding are taking place in our time. Concentrating attention on them, the authors sought to provide shipbuilders-practitioners with guidelines useful for making weighted and sometimes fateful business decisions. The conducted research seems timely from the viewpoint of the formation by the owners and management of the development strategy of domestic shipyards. Especially those related to the “new wave.” In the overwhelming majority, it is represented, paradoxically, by small and mediumsized enterprises. In recent years, they have been striving to find their own place in the international market for engineering, construction, repair, conversion, operation, and recycling of products whose line makes the structure of the chosen industrial specialization. The fact that the prospects for this business, despite the known difficulties, are optimistic is evidenced by the dynamics of the absolute volume of cargo transportation by sea and the construction of new vessels it has caused. Methodology. The performed generalizations are based on the analytical processing and systematization of data obtained by the authors from available information sources. As a result, substantiation of the arguments confirming the formulated working hypothesis regarding fundamental changes in the global shipbuilding – a key type of marine economic activity – has been obtained. Among its many features – a high level of competition, in which more and more new rivals are drawn. The study outlines the factors, under the influence of which the identified metamorphoses occur. This creates the prerequisites for identifying causal relationships between the first and second ones. In particular: humanity’s facing with the realities of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, signs of which are easily detected in shipbuilding; awareness by governments, socially responsible business, the public of the fatal consequences of neglecting environmental safety, affecting the natural environment and people employed in the maritime industry or residing in its area; advances in the sectoral international division of labour, accompanied by the emergence of new shipbuilding centres; the rising cost of marketing and building ships and the desire of shipowners to get an effect on the scale of the facilities used. At the same time, obstacles that occur along the way are identified. Practical implications. In support of the conclusions, we analyse the experience of leading enterprises, which serve as an example for imitation and deserve further development. They are not limited solely to technical and technological innovations but find the use of new organizational forms of mobilization of accumulated potentials. Among them are shipbuilding clusters. Turning to their creation, the initiators seek to strengthen the competitive positions of participants in developed segments and actively form new promising markets. Value/originality. As a result of systematization of the key areas of the drift of world shipbuilding, an information platform has been created, based on which shipyard management is able to foresee the future of the business under its care.

The method of converting color images from the RGB color system to grayscale images is a simple operation by using the fixed weights method of conversion, but using the same weights to restore the color of the same images is not an effective operation of all types of images because the grayscale image contains little information and it isn't worthy of conversion operation. The basic idea in this paper is to employ the mathematics equations which extracted from the grayscale image in conversion operation, this paper presents the method of coloring the grayscale image by using the weights derived from the characteristics of the grayscale image. Skewness, Mean and Standard deviation moments have been extracted from the features of grayscale images and its adoption the determine weights of the RGB color system. This method proved its success in coloring images compared to the traditional method adoption of fixed weights for coloring images because it relies on fixed weights for converting all grayscale images.

For the period from 2014 to 2018 years in surgical Department of the Republican children’s Clinical Hospital in Syktyvkar were treated children with stomach`s horistomа. Endoscopic picture of all patients appeared to be rather specific. In the stomach was determined by education dimensions 0,8–1,0 cm, deepening in the сentre, resembling the excretory duct of the pancreas. Six patients have performed laparoscopic atypical wedge resection of the stomach. One patient was unable to complete the operation laparoscopically, as horistoma was located on the back wall of the stomach. After you perform the conversion operation was completed. One patient in the first 24 hours after laparoscopic surgery emerged partial dehiscence of sutures on the stomach and carry out emergency necessitating additional sealing wounds nodal joints.

Taking into consideration Raymond Duval's theory of the records of semiotic representations, especially in relation to the global interpretation approach of figurative properties, the discursive functions of language and the semiotic and cognitive operation of conversion, we propose to analyze the records in natural language of the quadric (non-cylindrical and non-degenerated) surfaces present in Higher Education books. Such analyzes have evidenced that these researched records recur, although not always explicitly, to visual variables and to the global properties of the figures and that present the potential to contemplate several discursive functions, such as the apophantic, which reflects the capacity to designate something under the form of a mathematical proposition, the discursive expansion that allows connections between mathematical propositions in a coherent way, in addition to the conversion operation. When we add to this discussion Bento de Jesus Caraça’s Principle of Extension, we indicate possibilities of using new records for the conics.
