Quantum systems with a finite number of states at all times have been a primary element of many physical models in nuclear and elementary particle physics, as well as in condensed matter physics. Today, however, due to a practical demand in the area of developing quantum technologies, a whole set of novel tasks for improving our understanding of the structure of finite-dimensional quantum systems has appeared. In the present article we will concentrate on one aspect of such studies related to the problem of explicit parameterization of state space of an NN-level quantum system. More precisely, we will discuss the problem of a practical description of the unitary SU(N){SU(N)}-invariant counterpart of the NN-level state space BN{\mathcal{B}_N}, i.e., the unitary orbit space BN/SU(N){B_N/SU(N)}. It will be demonstrated that the combination of well-known methods of the polynomial invariant theory and convex geometry provides useful parameterization for the elements of BN/SU(N){B_N/SU(N)}. To illustrate the general situation, a detailed description ofBN/SU(N){B_N/SU(N)} for low-level systems: qubit (N=2{N= 2}), qutrit (N=3{N=3}), quatrit (N=4{N= 4}) - will be given.

What we perceive to be wilderness is in fact just a product: a physical manifestation of the force of wildness. Attempting to manufacture wilderness while bypassing this primary element (the force of wilderness) is why ‘emulated wilds’ often feel uncanny, fake. This thesis contrasts these forces, necessitating a new negotiation between people and the environment. The Kapiti Coast has seen substantial growth in the last 50 years, resulting in sprawling suburban and commercial development across the region. While areas of landscape close to the historic ecologies of the region remain, much of it has been lost around the town centre, where development has focused in recent decades. This thesis will explore historic representations of wilderness in picturesque and romanticist painting, drawing on both previous views of the wild, more modern interpretations as well as my own personal perceptions. The aim of this design-led research is to understand how to bring a sense of wilderness back into developed areas of the Kapiti Coast. In order to do this, I will explore how designing using digital painting can create a stronger sensory understanding of wilderness. I will use this medium of digital painting to explore what the picturesque means within the discipline of modern landscape architecture. Within the specific Kapiti Coast context, I will identify the elements of suburbia that are underperforming in the context of the larger landscape setting and finally establish a scenario-based methodology to explore site-specific definitions of wilderness within Kapiti.

Stepped-ness in Medium Density Housing investigates a new form of design, where the site is organised according to different conditions of public, common, shared and private spaces. Stepped-ness is used as a technique for controlling relations at a range of scales and intimacies —from urban to interior— and as a tool for creating continuity of public to private, inside to outside and building to landscape. As a result, circulation and dwelling become integrated as part of a stepped morphology in which higher density living is able to accommodate both a desire for privacy, and a connection with neighbours. The typical detached New Zealand house reinforces the nuclear family as unit and precludes the extended family. Local models of medium density housing replicate these conventions and continue to deliver autonomous and identifiably singular buildings defined by lot and footprint size. Challenging these conventions, the architectural hardware of this proposal allows boundaries to be redefined according to the preferred size and configuration of a variety of household types. The identity of ‘home’ is less determined by size, and more by relations – within the household and between dwelling and public realm. Insistently organisational, mat-building explores relational distances. The stepped-mat is examined in terms of the design of mediatory devices and ancillary spaces as the primary element of space planning. This was inspired by Atelier Bow Wow, who is known for creating, “not an architecture of spaces, but an architecture of relationships,” (Fujimori, 2010, p. 128). Initially concerned with the step as a tool for design, this thesis developed to consider the stepped-mat as a way of both controlling and designing space at a range of scales. How then, could the kinds of interstitial and circulation spaces between dwellings be exploited for incidental meetings between neighbours, to sit outside and read a book, or bring some daylight into a corridor (Barker & Simons, 2012, p.155). Designed to both transport and accommodate us, the stairs’ behaviour in the breakdown of vertical and horizontal space drives this design, and forms new relations between households.

The article presents the study of the sovereignty of the psychological space of the individual, the function of its boundary and the level of subjective control in married couples with different family experience. The research is based on the modern methods of T. S. Levy, S. K. Nartova-Bochaver, using which we continued to study the phenomenon of personal space, its boundary from the point of view of the subject-environment approach. The study of the psychological boundary of a person’s personal space is a topical topic not only within the individual, but also in the problems of family relations. The family is the primary element of the social space that forms the content characteristics of the personal space of a person who in the future, creating his family, forms such a space for his children. The most important characteristic of psychological space is the integrity of its boundaries. The presence of a holistic psychological space plays an important role in family relationships. The study involved married couples with different experience of family life: less than 7 years and more than 7 years, a total of 110 people. Differences in the «sovereignty of social ties», violations of the boundaries of the physical «I», the territorial integrity of families with different life experience are established. This study continues a series of studies on the specifics of the psychological space of the individual not only in the subjects of the educational sphere of school, university, but also in adult respondents.

Abstract Background Complete and rapid reversal of the effects of neuromuscular blocker drugs is a primary element of safety in anaesthesia. Neuromuscular conduction that is not completely improved leads to post-operative residual curarisation and the development of complications that are related to respiration. Aim of the Work to compare between the effect of neostigmine and sugammadex on the duration of the recovery from neuromuscular blocking agents and postoperative residual curarization and respiratory complications in the obese patients undergoing laparscopic surgery. Patients and Methods We carried out this randomized clinical study on sixty four patients operated upon at General Surgery Department at Armed Forces Hospitals. Patients and Methods: In this study, 64 patients of either sex with average age ranging from 18-65 years, ASA (I,II), submitted for bariatric gastric sleeve operation were included in this study. Patients were randomly classified into 2 equal groups; Group S (sugammadex, n = 32) and group N (neostigmine, n = 32). Results: no significant differences between both groups regarding age, gender, BMI and ASA. But, we showed statistically a high significant difference between both groups regarding TOF0.9 and significant differences between both groups regarding PACU and operative room time. Conclusion This study verified the efficiency of sugammadex over neostigmine for full and timely reversal of neuromuscular blockade induced by a rocuronium, in morbidly obese patients undergoing laparoscopic bariatric surgery.

The increasing use of Software-Defined Networks brings the need for their performance analysis and detailed analytical and numerical models of them. The primary element of such research is a model of a SDN switch. This model should take into account non-Poisson traffic and general distributions of service times. Because of frequent changes in SDN flows, it should also analyze transient states of the queues. The method of diffusion approximation can meet these requirements. We present here a diffusion approximation of priority queues and apply it to build a more detailed model of SDN switch where packets returned by the central controller have higher priority than other packets.
