This paper presents some of the authors theoretical and experimental research related to the use of low-power lasers (diode laser) for the engraving, photoengraving and cutting of the parts made of plastics. There shall be presented the research carried out using a small machine, covering a net area of 150x150mm2. Small-sized companies or the persons having such pursuits can afford this type of machines. The authors also put forward several solutions to improve the performance of such machines by introducing at least one new axis of the Z or A type.

Deep neural network (DNN) has shown significant improvement in learning and generalizing different machine learning tasks over the years. But it comes with an expense of heavy computational power and memory requirements. We can see that machine learning applications are even running in portable devices like mobiles and embedded systems nowadays, which generally have limited resources regarding computational power and memory and thus can only run small machine learning models. However, smaller networks usually do not perform very well. In this paper, we have implemented a simple ensemble learning based knowledge distillation network to improve the accuracy of such small models. Our experimental results prove that the performance enhancement of smaller models can be achieved through distilling knowledge from a combination of small models rather than using a cumbersome model for the knowledge transfer. Besides, the ensemble knowledge distillation network is simpler, time-efficient, and easy to implement.

The article deals with the issues of improving the efficiency of production and logistics systems (PLS) of machine-building enterprises through the joint use of MES/APS systems and simulation systems for verification of production plans and decision support. The possibility of using the PlantTwin simulation system on the example of a small machine- building enterprise is considered. Simulation of the operation of the enterprise’s PLS when performing a given production program is performed. Based on the results of simulation modeling, a number of organizational and technological proposals and recommendations for improving the efficiency of the enterprise’s PLS were formed. The proposed solutions were verified by making changes to the simulation scenario and obtaining new results showing their effectiveness.

As per the data provided by the governments of Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Assam, 82.84 per cent, 72.97 percent and 62.93 percent of their rural households, respectively, are still without any access to electricity. Every Machine to perform its function needs electricity, therefore electricity is the basic backbone which is needed to drive even a small machine. It has become a necessary piece of development that has led to the rise of other development.500 million people are still left without electricity. This paper aims at designing a machine which will use electro-mechanical energy of the body to generate free electricity for the basic needs and is eco-friendly i.e.it will not cause any kind of pollution. The Free Electric 2.0 machine is created, which works on a normal and simple principle of an electrical dynamo. The basic idea is, whenever the machine is paddled, it results in rotation of a free wheel. The free wheel is connected to a shaft and the shaft is connected to another free wheel on the other side. This free wheel is connected to a wheel which is connected to generator. Power thus produced is stored in a battery and can be used for the basic necessities like lightning bulbs, fan and charging mobiles. The major necessity of this type of machine are in places which are very hostile or places which doesn’t have a power grid line setup. It can also be used in places which are prone to disaster. Having this device at our homes will provide electricity for at least the basic necessities

Using high-technology digital platforms in the operation of machine-building enterprises involves active implementation of CAD products. The presence of digital display associated with the PLM systems, signifies the transition to a new type of production. Under these conditions, a 3D model of a part acts as a means of navigating the technological process. Using small machine-building enterprises as an example, the experience of 3D design on the platforms of domestic CAD systems is presented in this work. Automation in the production process acts as the integration of the main stages — design, technological and engineering analysis — into a single information stream. The PLM platform integrates CAD software modules into a common information space using uniform rules, forming technical documentation containing 3D models and 2D drawings, and supporting attributes on project components. It also forms the basis of teamwork. A package of the documents serves as the goal of the pre-production cycle, the condition for the modification of products and a means of combining all the links of the chain from the customer to the consumer into a single information space.

In recent years’ people especially students most probably clean their shoes manually using brush, which somehow takes a long time to get clean. It is even hard for them to clean it by their own especially for primary students because it requires a lot of energy, which is out of their physical ability. Therefore, with the new shoe cleaner machine, this will be definitely benefited on the user’s desire. With the small machine, which is can be perfectly fitted with the size of the shoes and it can be useful enough as the important role is to clean the shoes. The shoes can be cleaned in much less time with no effort. An attempt has been made to design and fabricate a sole-cleaning machine to make the shoe cleaning process simpler. This work focuses on automation of the shoe cleaning process without any human involvement in the process. As all the employees, faculty, Students etc., are required to wear clean shoes before entering their work place, School, College laboratories etc., The shoe sole cleaner is designed, considering all the parameters with respect to customer need in terms of portability and economically available to them. Thus, not only providing clean environment but also the style quotient to the person with polishing effect.

In recent years, owing to the advent of mobile phones, product miniaturization and multifunctionalization have rapidly progressed. However, the large-sized machine tools for the manufacture of small products waste a considerable amount of space and power. The present study aimed at applying a magnetic-polishing method using a ball-end mill-type tool to examine the optimum processing conditions. This was done to apply a mirror finish for the integration of the cutting and polishing processes by using the small machine tool. The magnetic-polishing effect was evaluated from the point of view of the polishing amount, surface roughness, specimen shape, and mirror-surface condition. In addition, the movement of the paste during polishing was observed through images obtained through a high-speed camera. The movement of the paste is considered for effective polishing and other cases. Accordingly, various magnetic-polishing techniques were used for irregularities and step shapes. Various conditions were also examined, and a stable condition was determined. The results reveal that the amount of polishing paste significantly influences the polishing movement. In addition, a sufficient polishing effect could be obtained by duplicating the polishing course by using a sine wave course.
