Abstract Baryonic feedback effects consist of a major systematic for upcoming weak-lensing and galaxy-clustering surveys. In this paper, we present an emulator for the baryonic suppression of the matter power spectrum. The emulator is based on the baryonification model, containing seven free parameters that are connected to the gas profiles and stellar abundances in haloes. We show that with the baryonic emulator, we can not only recover the power spectra of hydro-dynamical simulations at sub-percent precision, but also establish a connection between the baryonic suppression of the power spectrum and the gas and stellar fractions in haloes. This connection allows us to predict the expected deviation from a dark-matter-only power spectrum using measured X-ray gas fractions of galaxy groups and clusters. With these measurements, we constrain the suppression to exceed the percent-level at k=0.1-0.4 h/Mpc and to reach a maximum of 20-28 percent at around k∼ 7 h/Mpc (68 percent confidence level). As a further step, we also perform a detailed parameter study and we present a minimum set of four baryonic parameters that are required to recover the scale and redshift dependence observed in hydro-dynamical simulations. The Corona Virus Disease (COVID-19) is endemic in Indonesia and affects many sectors, including the economic and government sectors. During the COVID-19 pandemic, BPK, as the government’s external auditors, continued to carry out the audit to maintain accountability for state finances despite budget refocusing and large-scale social restrictions (Pembatasan Sosial Berskala Besar, PSBB). This study aims to determine the significance of audit costs due to budget refocusing, IT utilization, and auditor competence on audit quality during the work from home (WFH) policy. This study processed questionnaire data from 70 auditors from three representative offices of BPK in provinces under three different categories, namely A, B, and C. The research data was processed using SmartPLS software to analyze data with measurement models and structural models with a 90 percent confidence level. Data processing shows that the effect of audit costs and the use of information technology on audit quality during the COVID-19 pandemic has a feeble and insignificant effect; thus, the hypothesis is not supported. Meanwhile, the competence of auditors has a significant effect on the quality of audit results; ergo, the hypothesis is supported.

The study aims at evaluating the efficacy of different doses of powdered stem and leaf parts of Gmelina arborea on Dinoderus porcellus infesting yam chips in Jos metropolis. The experiment was conducted at the Entomology Laboratory of the Federal College of Forestry, Jos. Samples of infested yam chips and Gmelina arborea were collected in Jos metropolis. Newly emerged adult Dinoderus porcellus were exposed to the yam chips which were mixed with different levels of Gmelina arborea parts powder (0, 5, 10, 15 and 20 g). The setup was monitored for 120 hours and mortality recorded. The study was carried out in a randomized complete design with treatments replicated thrice. Data was analysed using analysis of variance at 1 and 5 percent confidence level and Duncan test was used to separate the means. The results obtained reveal significant differences at p value=0.05 and 0.01. The results reveal that in all the doses, an increase in the amount of the powder resulted in increased incidence of D. porcellus mortality. After 120 hours of exposure, 100 % mortality was recorded from either 15 or 20 g stem bark + leaf powder treatment. From the results obtained, the use of 15 g stem bark+leaf powder of Gmelina arborea could be effective in yam chips preservation which could in turn strengthen food security. North Sumatera Provincial Government in implementing regional autonomy and fiscal decentralization policies has tried to implement it based on the needs of each district/city so that a prosperous society is created. The prosperity achieved is not only reflected in high economic growth but is also supported by the fulfillment of realizable consumption needs and the abundant availability of reliable human resources. This study discusses the effect of two variables contained in fiscal decentralization, the level of public consumption and labor absorption on economic growth in North Sumatra. The method used by researchers is regression using panel data (pooled data) or called the panel data regression model. The estimation results show the regression coefficient of the CONS variable is -0.185883. This means that with each increase in CONS by 1 percent, economic growth will decrease by 0.18 percent and vice versa. The effect of the CONS variable on EG is negative and significant at the 95 percent confidence level and the estimation results show the regression coefficient of the Labour Force Participation Rate (LFPR) variable of 0.442641. This means that for each increase in LFPR by 1 percent, economic growth will increase by 0.44 percent and vice versa. The effect of the LFPR variable on PE is significant at the 95 percent confidence level.

This paper aimed to study the linkage between business firms’ actions and their resultant social costs on the environment in Nigeria. The report also attempted to provides a broad view of businesses and their resulting actions on the earth as they operate within contemporary Nigerian society. The sampling method adopted for this study was the stratified random sampling technique. The instrument used for data analysis was Chi-square (X2), adopted for hypothesis testing. A total number of 287 questionnaires were returned and considered out of the 300 questionnaires that were distributed. Data obtained was analyzed with the inferential statistical technique. Pearson Chi-square was employed to test each hypothesis at a 95 percent confidence level. Results were analyzed through Pearson Chi-square and hypotheses tested using chi-square statistics at 0.05 level of significance. SPSS version 21 was used for linear-by-linear association in hypotheses testing, assumptions establishing a linear relationship of variables were met, and error terms independence was conducted. Therefore, the study believed that if business firms are allowed to pollute the environment, the result is a rise in waste and numerous environmental consequences. Consequently, society as a whole is hurt as its overall social welfare declines. This study, therefore, recommended that the business firms should always make considerable strides in improving the performance of their products, with a strong focus on enhancing environmental efficiency with a long-term aim for zero-emission of vehicles.

Health is not only the absence of illnesses; it is also the ability of people to develop to their potential during their entire lives. In that sense, health is an asset individuals own, which has inherent value (being healthy is an important source of well-being) as well as instrumental value. Researches in social sciences are of empirical in nature and based on the respondents perceptions of socio-economic conditions. Their perceptions are influenced by various socio-economic factors. It is necessary to understand the socio-economic condition of respondents in sociological studies. The study is based on primary data and is conducted between January and March, 2020. For the purpose of the study, 40 indoor patients are randomly selected and interview is done based on the interview schedule which is significant at 10 percent and 90 percent confidence level and hence reflects the entire indoor patients’ population of Civil Hospital, Aizawl. This study shows that patients from the rural area have the highest number of inpatients as compared to urban and other town areas—with a total of 20. The annual expenditure on healthcare of indoor patients’ family shows that a spending below 5,000 INR annually pertains only to BPL and AAY families with 50 percent each on both. People who are poor or living in relative poverty have the highest frequency with 21 (BPL category) which is 52.5 percent out of the total of 40. Those very poor or AAY have 5 families which is 12.5 percent of the total. Together, families who are in relative poverty and extreme poverty contributes 26 or 65 percent of the total indoor patients studied. Patients’ family above the poverty line is 14 or 35 percent of the total. The study concludes that there is a significant relationship between poverty status and the use of public hospital services for inpatients. PurposeBased upon a survey of 87 companies having used the services of business coaches, this paper considers the extent to which coaching is likely to be beneficial to a leader's business success as well as that of the respective company.Design/methodology/approachThe research methodology is mixed methods and survey-based combining quantitative Likert scaling with open-ended questions.FindingsAt the 99 percent confidence level, surveyed respondents believe that, on average, the coaching process has provided results above the investment required and has led to progress for them and their organizations. Of the six targeted areas, five showed a very positive relationship between the coaching experience and the results from its clients.Research limitations/implicationsAs the research is based on a convenience sample it has shortcomings relative to probability sampling. However, it is widely recognized that such samples can be attained more easily, more rapidly, and at less cost than probability-based samples. On the other hand, it is understood that inferences to broader populations of interest are limited.Practical implicationsThe results confirm findings from past research such as that reported by the Institute of Coaching (2018), that managers should not undervalue potential contributions to individual and company attributes from coaching.Originality/valueThe motivation for this paper is to bring together both academic and practitioner experience to provide more evidence and understanding related to the coaching definition, its implementation, and effectiveness. While not conclusive in the absolute sense, the original data original collected and analyzed for this research is based on known client contacts in close time proximity to the coaching engagement and delivers added insight to current research.
