The article interrogates whether citizens’ (embodied) encounters with migrant populations (newcomers and settled) enable or hinder convivial reflexivity in a multicultural city of compounded crises. Convivial reflexivity refers to the embodied process of identity-making that is rooted in the context of everyday life and emerges at the juncture of embodied encounters with the Other and the intense mediation of migration that shapes citizens’ perceptions and practices. The article draws on a four-month intense ethnographic study in an Athenian neighbourhood and reveals how, even in a very tense environment of crises and intensified racism, everyday encounters in the city could mediate class solidarities and support the emergence of networked commons against national and racial hierarchies. The article aims to move beyond claims of conviviality as a natural outcome of urban encounters, and instead to reveal a convivial reflexivity that understands urban encounters as an assemblage of cognition, affect and embodiment.

The Lorentz Transformation (LT) is an arbitrary and poorly conceived mathematical tool designed to make Maxwell’s electromagnetism conform to Galilean relativity, which formed the basis of classical mechanics and physics. A strange combination of this transform with an axiomatic assumption by Albert Einstein that the velocity of light c is an absolute and universal constant has led to an idealist, geometrical and phenomenological view of the universe, that is at variance with objective reality. This conundrum that has lasted for more than hundred years has led to rampant mysticism and has impaired the development of positive knowledge of the universe. The present reconstruction of LT shows that the gamma term, which fueled mysticism in physics and cosmology is, on the contrary, a natural outcome of the subjective geometrical rendition of the speed of light and the idealist unification of abstract space and time into a 4D “spacetime” manifold; by Minkowski and Einstein. Only a materialist dialectical perspective of space and time can rid physics of all mysticism arising out of LT; from the quantum to the cosmic.

This article is dedicated to solution of the crucial problems of the philosophy of war – the paradox of David and Goliath. The weaker, technically inferior side of military confrontation often defeats the stronger one, which is equipped with the latest technology by the world political actors. The author describes the heterogeneous and asymmetric nature of modern wars, which involve state and non-state actors, and combine regular and irregular combat practices. It is indicated that the mobile and flexible strategy of partisan war, which is more effective than the actions of regular army, is now being adopted by them. Therefore, if an irregular soldier, a partisan, in the conditions of classical inter-state war possessed the status of “unlawful combatant”, in modern wars, the soldiers of regular army must prove their superiority over the partisans. The scientific novelty of this research lies in determination of the two paradigms of warfare relevant to the current situation in the society, which correspond to the strategies of David and Goliath. The first is characteristic to high-tech societies, which have entered the post-heroic era losing imperative of sacrifice. The conclusion is made that the military activity of modern Goliaths is being transformed in accordance with transhumanistic and poshumanistic scenarios. The natural outcome of high-tech warfare of the future should become a post-human war waged by artificial intelligence. The response to high-tech challenges of the leading world political actors is the guerrilla warfare strategy of modern David, which is founded on the idea of sacrifice and willingness to take lethal risks, and debunks the key role of the factor of technological superiority in achieving victory.

Purpose of the study: The purpose of the research is to analyze the linguistic features of the advertisements, to reveal the stories, developed by manufacturers, which appear to be ecologically protective and aligned with the values of ecosophy. Further, it aims to identify the role of language in establishing ecological preferences for consumers. Methodology: The data has been collected from the official websites of five food manufacturing companies, which is made limited to beverages and dairy products. The advertisements are analysed under the theoretical framework of Agenda Setting Theory and Framing Theory, using the model of ecolinguistic analysis by Stibbe (2015). Main Findings: It is incurred that the food manufacturing companies develop different stories that are succinctly insinuated, where the readers consider them mundane but the stories instill certain perceptions in readers’ minds and tame the purchase choices of consumers in daily life, through the use of language. Application of this study: The research dismantles the ecological stance of the discourses and evaluates them in the light of ecosophy, it is helpful for the general public to identify the ecologically destructive discourses and how food manufacturers can improvise their discourses to increase consumerism. The language is used in such an emollient manner that the readers assume it to be for the sake of marketing but they clad the ideology of consumerism in each story. Novelty/Originality of this study: The study is unique in the sense that it involves the area of linguistics in combination with ecology. It unveils how linguistics discourses in advertisements frame stories to replace the use of natural products. The linguistic discourses are used as a tool for commercial purposes, however, the purpose is to commercially glorify the product as a better source of natural outcome in front of consumers.

Strategic planning is a process that involves informed dialog among the committee members over a period of time such that a consensus emerges as a natural outcome. In this paper, the multiple factors influencing success of strategic planning has been studied. Key success factors in strategic planning of project management contain such activities that must be performed if the organization intends to achieve its long-term targets. A large majority of enterprises only have a handful of key success factors. Nonetheless, even if one of these success factors is not executed accurately and precisely, the enterprises’ competitive strategy might be threatened. The key success factors in achieving project management excellence also apply to other types of organizations, including those which have not thoroughly implemented their project management systems. Though most organizations are sincere in their efforts to thoroughly implement their systems, stumbling stones are inevitable and have to be overcome. The statistical population of this research is composed of managers, consultants, and experts involved in the strategic planning in project management. According to the research results, the involvement of top management, involvement of team personnel, knowledge of the top management of strategic planning, and organizational culture are the most effective factors of strategic planning.

During their formation, planets form large, hot atmospheres due to the ongoing accretion of solids. It has been customary to assume that all solids end up at the center, constituting a “core” of refractory materials, whereas the envelope remains metal-free. However, recent work, as well as observations by the Juno mission, indicate that the distinction may not be so clear cut. Indeed, small silicate, pebble-sized particles will sublimate in the atmosphere when they hit the sublimation temperature (T ~ 2000 K). In this paper we extend previous analytical work to compute the properties of planets within such a pebble accretion scenario. We conduct 1D numerical calculations of the atmosphere of an accreting planet, solving the stellar structure equations, augmented by a nonideal equation of state that describes a hydrogen and helium-silicate vapor mixture. Calculations terminate at the point where the total mass in metal is equal to that of the H+He gas, which we numerically confirm as the onset of runaway gas accretion. When pebbles sublimate before reaching the core, insufficient (accretion) energy is available to mix dense, vapor-rich lower layers with the higher layers of lower metallicity. A gradual structure in which Z decreases with radius is therefore a natural outcome of planet formation by pebble accretion. We highlight, furthermore, that (small) pebbles can act as the dominant source of opacity, preventing rapid cooling and presenting a channel for (mini-)Neptunes to survive in gas-rich disks. Nevertheless, once pebble accretion subsides, the atmosphere rapidly clears followed by runaway gas accretion. We consider atmospheric recycling to be the most probable mechanism to have stalled the growth of the envelopes of these planets.

The major focus of this piece of writing is to bring to the light the voice of an empowered writer Omprakash Valmiki.. “Joothan: A Dalit’s Life” is respectively chosen for the research as it brings out the malicious veracity of Dalit’s life in an authentic way. He took Dalit literature in his hand as a gizmo to carry out his anguish as a communal trauma of his community. Today his voice has been well recognized, and it stands as a robust right for his society He describes “his” experience as a Dalit, and the twinge that he underwent throughout his lifetime. Being human one must have autonomy, deference and sanctuary; but for Valmiki, it stood as a threat in the midst of the dominant elements of society. His autobiography emphasizes the significance of literature by endowing the platform in spreading the knowledge about Dalit lives and their individual experience in this civil society. In general, a Dalit tries not to divulge his identity as Dalit in the midst of “others”, but expresses his anger in clandestine space. This is due to an “intimidate syndrome” a natural outcome that a Dalit is always surrounded by. Dalit Studies are a rare glimpse that very few talk about it and dare enough to write. Omprakash Valmiki takes the smugness to bring out the marginalized issues into the world where the mainstream writers seldom mentioned the kind of turmoil in their works dealing with caste. Undeniably his writing is not a stuff of potboiler but proves to be a better medium to create consciousness in the society

The merger of two white dwarfs (WDs) is a natural outcome of the evolution of many binary stars. Recently, a WD merger product, IRAS 00500+6713, was identified. IRAS 00500+6713 consists of a central star embedded in a circular nebula. The analysis of the optical spectrum of the central star revealed that it is hot, hydrogen, and helium free, and it drives an extremely fast wind with a record breaking speed. The nebula is visible in infrared and in the [O III] λ5007 Å line images. No nebula spectroscopy was obtained prior to our observations. Here we report the first deep X-ray imaging spectroscopic observations of IRAS 00500+6713. Both the central star and the nebula are detected in X-rays, heralding the WD merger products as a new distinct type of strong X-ray sources. Low-resolution X-ray spectra reveal large neon, magnesium, silicon, and sulfur enrichment of the central star and the nebula. We conclude that IRAS 00500+6713 resulted from a merger of an ONe and a CO WD, which supports earlier suggestion for a super-Chandrasekhar mass of this object. X-ray analysis indicates that the merger was associated with an episode of carbon burning and possibly accompanied by an SN Iax. In X-rays, we observe the point source associated with the merger product while the surrounding diffuse nebula is a supernova remnant. IRAS 00500+6713 will likely terminate its evolution with another peculiar Type I supernova, where the final core collapse to a neutron star might be induced by electron captures.
