An ethno medicinal survey of village Sarthuna was conducted in between month of October to December 2019. A total of 25 plants from 18 families were documented. Family Euphorbiaceae and Fabaceae were identified with the most use value. Leaves were the part of most of the formulations. Dragea volubilis, Maytenus emarginata, Feronia limonia, Telosma pallida and Aristolochia indica were identified as novel ethnomedicinal plants which were less reported previously from southern Rajasthan.Statistical interpretation of obtained data was done by calculating RFC and ICF value.

Background: In recent decades, the prevalence of asthma has substantially increased worldwide. Advances in phytochemistry and phytopharmacology have clarified the active ingredients and biological activities of medicinal plant products for treating asthma, and the role of herbal therapies in asthma treatment has become increasingly evident. However, most plant extracts have low solubility and poor stability of bioactive components, resulting in low bioavailability and loss of efficacy. Owing to these shortcomings, the clinical use of many herbal extracts is limited. Objective: To summarise and analyse the characteristics of herbal nanoformulations and their application in asthma treatment. The objective of this review article is to address the emerging trends of herbal nanoformulations for an effective treatment for asthma. Methods: Various research and review articles from reputed international journals were referred and compiled. Results: The nano-sized herbal formulations improve the solubility and bioavailability of herbal medicines and contribute to the sustained release of drugs, thus, increasing the therapeutic applications of herbal extracts. The review present different types of herbal nanoformulations, including micelles, nanoparticles, solid lipid nanoparticles, lipid-based liquid crystalline nanoparticles and nanoemulsions, which are potential nanodrugs for asthma treatment. Conclusions: Herbal nanoformulations have shown great prospects for treatment of asthma in recent years. More safety and toxicity data are still needed to promote their development and application.

Psoriasis may emerge at any stage of life irrespective of age, sex or geographic location. It is identified as a chronic immune-linked inflammatory skin disease that affects all human races. Psoriasis is often more Caucasian than non-Caucasian groups of human races and in geographic areas, like higher latitudes and Western countries. Therefore, attention should be paid to both genetic and environmental causes of psoriasis. Natural products have significantly contributed and encouraged the advances in skin disease treatment like psoriasis. The maximum number of phytochemicals is now being used worldwide, including various plants, herbs, and formulations. In addition, some phytochemicals like psoralen, aloe-emodin, curcumin etc. have also been isolated in pure form and have also shown their efficacy in the management of psoriasis. The presence of such phytochemicals confirms the effectiveness of few herbal therapies. This paper reviews some of the promising phytochemicals and their potential molecular target sites and mechanism of action, which may aid in designing and producing more precise and selective antipsoriatic agents. Exploring and recognizing phytochemicals as to how they function will facilitate more site-specific delivery methods for psoriasis care.

Rheumatoid arthritis, an autoimmune inflammatory disorder is characterized by progressive cartilage erosion leading to joint destruction, pain, stiffness, and swelling. Although the etiology of the disease is unknown, genetic changes due to factors such as environmental agents, immune response towards infectious agents influence rheumatoid arthritis. Earlier NSAIDs were the first choice of drugs for the treatment of disease but due to having certain side effects and limitations, herbal therapies which possess higher efficacy and safety are now in demand. There are hundreds of plants that have phytoconstituents that exhibit anti-inflammatory activity. A combination of plants is used to make polyherbal formulations that act synergistically to give anti-arthritic activity. The review is about the botanicals and traditional formulations which have been clinically tested for the treatment of Rheumatoid arthritis.

This study was aimed to document medicinal plant species, their utilization and methods to treat common ailments by traditional healers in Churiya region of Ilam district, eastern Nepal. This study would contribute positively to the field of biodiversity conservation, phytochemistry and ethnopharmacology. Ethnobotanical informations were collected in 2016 based on semi-structured questionnaire with key informant interview. Data were evaluated and expressed in terms of number and percentage. A total of 116 medicinal plants belonging to 61 families were reported to treat 76 different ailments categorized into 18 groups. The highest numbers of plants were used to treat digestive system disorders. The most medicines were prepared as the form of paste from leaves or tender shoots and administrated orally. Of the documented plants, 5 species were reported with novel uses and 7 were newly reported as ethnomedicinal plants in Nepal. Besides medicine, 111 species were utilized additionally for food, fodder, socio-cultural events and environmental use. People of the area less frequently use traditional herbal therapies. Due to lack of proper collection, conservation and cultivation practices, some plant species are at risk of extinction. Thus, sustainable harvesting and access to benefit sharing help to improve livelihood and conserve biodiversity.
