Video-based learning is widely adopted by online learners, yet, learning experience and quality may be negatively affected by asynchronous and remote natures of video-based learning. As note-taking is a common practice employed by video-based learners and is known to be an effective way to trigger active construction and processing of knowledge, yet as a meta-skill, it is challenging to most learners. In this study, we aim to approach the goal of providing cognitive and social scaffolds to video-based learners by structuring their note-taking process. We presented and evaluated structured note-taking systems designed for learners in two contexts, namely, individual learning context and social learning context. With an online controlled study involving 43 participants, we compared the structured note-taking systems with two baseline systems (for individual learning and social learning contexts respectively) and found that structured note-taking significantly improved certain aspects of video-based learning such as and higher cognitive engagement and lower distraction. We discussed our results to inform the design, iteration, and adoption of note-taking tools in video-based learning.

Online learning requires students to be more independent in learning. For example, chemistry learning tends to contain abstract concepts (very theoretical), so it requires a more detailed description and explanation. To help solve this problem, we need a media that can make it easier for students to learn during online learning. The purpose of this study was to determine student perceptions or responses to learning using teaching videos. The method used in this research is descriptive quantitative, which will produce a description of quantitative data related to student perceptions of the results of the Cronbach Alfa test. The instruments in this study were questionnaires, and learning outcomes test questions. The sample consisted of 102 students. Before being used, video-based learning media with the help of a pen tablet were validated by media and material experts, both in terms of construction and concepts contained in the learning media. The validation results obtained an average value of 0.91 which means it is very valid. Further analysis using reliability showed the Cronbach Alfa coefficients were 0.88, respectively; 0.92; 0.93 consecutively for aspects of knowledge, media and convenience. In order to be accepted by the media as learning media, it is necessary to look at student responses to aspects of knowledge (P) where the average value is 3.96 which is classified as good, media (M) 4.02 and convenience (K) 3.81 are also included in good category.

The paper aims to examine the use of multimedia and Video Based Learning (VBL) in classes in Japanese universities, which may have moved from face-to-face to online platforms. It will also attempt to investigate if there are any tangible benefits to these materials/platforms being used, and if their continued use (after classes return to the classroom) may be advantageous to teachers or their students.

This study aimed to find out the views of students at the undergraduate level about learning using video-based learning. The method used in this research is classroom action research, and this research was conducted in the Master of Management program, Bina Nusantara University, located in Jakarta. This research was done between the 2019 – 2020 academic year and the Covid-19 pandemic between February 2020 and June 2020. The subjects within the study were first-year students in the second-level program, and of the 25 people in the class, three volunteers participated in this research. The results of this study indicate that the possibility of successful video-based learning and the results obtained have the opportunity to have a positive impact on learning at the second-level level, only with a note that input from participants needs to be considered, including those related to the duration and appearance of video-based learning.

Video-based learning has recently gained popularity as one of the numerous choices in remote education approaches during the pandemic that differs from conventional face-to-face lecture-based education. However, video-based learning and online teaching were different and quite challenging for students, especially when studying statistics and it is conducted remotely. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to assess student satisfaction with video-based learning on statistical topics. This study was conducted with 357 foundations of science students in the Preparatory Centre for Science and Technology, Universiti Malaysia Sabah. An independently developed questionnaire focusing on four factors, namely teaching, learning, technology, and skills, was given to students, and the results were then analysed. Based on the questionnaire the range of the mean is 4.54 – 4.87, which suggested that the video-based learning on statistical topics had an overall positive outcome on student satisfaction. Mostly, students scored higher mean scores for the items under the factor of teaching than for the items under the other three factors. This study also discovered that video-based learning relied on teaching, learning, and skills rather than the technology itself. However, technology continues to be a critical platform for educators’ educational activities. Therefore, this study demonstrated the critical significance of meeting the rising demand for online education, particularly video-based learning, while still providing a compelling student learning experience.

The COVID-19 pandemic provides valuable lessons for the world of education, especially Indonesia's readiness for the learning process. Adjustment of the learning process that was previously in the form of face-to-face to internet-based learning. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of using video-based learning media in improving high school students' learning outcomes of Economics. The research method used is a descriptive research method with a survey approach. We collect data in this study, namely observation, interviews, and documentation, which were then analyzed by calculating the percentage of sample answers and tested using various theories. The sample in this study was determined according to the research needs of 119 respondents. This study shows the average respondent's answer is 4, 04 or categorized agree. Thus, based on the analysis conducted, video-based learning media improved student economic learning outcomes in high school during the COVID-19 pandemic. Video-based learning media is a practical learning resource during the covid-19 pandemic that makes it easy for students to understand economic learning materials. during the Covid-19 Pandemic. This research also contributes to similar research in the context of developing online learning media during the pandemic and digital era.
