Church must be understood as supernatural spritual institution as bearers of divine mandates on this earth, spiritual mandates and social mandates, be spiritual blessing and physical blessing. Church has taken the form of formal and legal institutions as such as social institutions. Then,the problems are the character and the impact of churches are not better than the social institution. Its because they lost their boot mandates. Those mandates originate and move from two church shahadas,love God and love others. The ambivalance among shahada and character,mandate and function cause churches are on intersection of become social institution or a spiritual institution. To back to their origin function,churches face two challenges. They are bravery to take off the deadly tradition,system,and theologies and then back to biblical tradition,system,and theologies.

Floridean starch and floridoside are the main storage carbohydrates of red algae. However, their complete metabolic pathways and the origin, function, and regulatory mechanism of their pathway genes have not been fully elucidated. In this study, we identified their metabolic pathway genes and analyzed the changes in related gene expression and metabolite content in Neoporphyra haitanensis under continuous dark conditions. Our results showed that genes from different sources, including eukaryotic hosts, cyanobacteria, and bacteria, were combined to construct floridean starch and floridoside metabolic pathways in N. haitanensis. Moreover, compared with those in the control, under continuous dark conditions, floridean starch biosynthesis genes and some degradation genes were significantly upregulated with no significant change in floridean starch content, whereas floridoside degradation genes were significantly upregulated with a significant decrease in floridoside content. This implies that floridean starch content is maintained but floridoside is consumed in N. haitanensis under dark conditions. This study elucidates the “floridean starch–floridoside” metabolic network and its gene origins in N. haitanensis for the first time.


The editors of What Is Religion? Debating the Academic Study of Religion asked seventeen leading scholars of religion to finish the statement “Religion is . . .” in a sentence or two, at most a paragraph. Their answer then went to another contributor to write an essay based on it (whether as a reply, a critique, or an application), to which the original author of the paragraph then responded in a brief essay. The result is a collection of scholarly conversations among a wide range of scholars selected to represent the breadth of the current field. To this collection the editors have attached a long appendix, modeled on James Leuba’s 1912 appendix to his Psychological Study of Religion: Its Origin, Function, and Future, that includes over thirty classic or contemporary definitions with their own commentary on them.

New biomarkers for acute kidney injury (AKI) have improved our understanding of the etiology and pathogenesis of AKI. Depending on their origin, function, and kinetic profile, biomarkers have a role in screening, diagnosis, prognostication, and monitoring of AKI. This offers opportunities to improve the management of AKI, but concerns and limitations remain. In this review, we summarize the current role of new AKI biomarkers in the management of AKI and outline some of the ongoing limitations and challenges.

The failure of axonal regeneration after spinal cord injury (SCI) results in permanent loss of sensorimotor function. The persistent presence of scar tissue, mainly fibrotic scar and astrocytic scar, is a critical cause of axonal regeneration failure and is widely accepted as a treatment target for SCI. Astrocytic scar has been widely investigated, while fibrotic scar has received less attention. Here, we review recent advances in fibrotic scar formation and its crosstalk with other main cellular components in the injured core after SCI, as well as its cellular origin, function, and mechanism. This study is expected to provide an important basis and novel insights into fibrotic scar as a treatment target for SCI.

ABSTRACTSaccharomyces cerevisiae has been a faithful guide for study of eukaryotic DNA replication, as the numerous initiation and elongation proteins are conserved from yeast to human. However, there is a gap in our knowledge of why yeast uses a consensus DNA sequence at replication origins, while higher eukaryotes do not. The current study closes this gap. By direct single-molecule visualization, we show that the Origin Recognition Complex (ORC) searches for and stably binds nucleosomes, and that nucleosomes funtionalize ORC to load MCM helicase onto DNA, regardless of DNA sequence. Furthermore, we discover that ORC can remodel nucleosomes and expel H2A-H2B histone dimers, a heretofore unexpected function. Thus ORC helps create a chromatin environment permissive to origin function. The finding that ORC binding to nucleosomes leads to MCM loading at any DNA sequence is likely to generalize, and that higher eukaryotes follow this same paradigm for origin selection

Background: The anatomy, origin, function, and appearance of the Palmaris Longus Muscle (PLM) in different populations are well studied. However, little is known about its contribution to wrist flexion movements in sports. This study investigates whether the existence or absence of the PLM affects maximal torque output or torque consistency of submaximal wrist flexion moment. Methods: One hundred ninety-seven well-trained sports students were clinically examined to ascertain the presence of the PLM. Forty of them from different sport disciplines were assigned to two groups (athletes in handgrip sports: HG, athletes in non-handgrip sports: NHG). Their 80 upper limbs were divided based on the PLM-presence/absence and hand-dominance/non-dominance. Maximal Isometric Torque (MIT) at 150º, 180º, and 210º wrist angle, and torque steadiness at 150º and 180º, at 25%, 50%, and 75% of MIT were measured on a Humac Norm dynamometer. Results: In all MIT tests, HGs significantly surpassed NHGs, independently of the dominant or non-dominant side in presence of the PLM (p <.05). Steadiness was significantly higher in HGs than in NHGs in dominant hands having the PLM, at 25% and 75% of MIT at both angles (p <.05). Conclusions: It is concluded that the existence of the PLM provides an advantage in sustained handgrip sports (throwers, racquet sports, basketball, handball players), contributing positively to decreased torque variability and higher maximal torque independently of muscular length. Important implications for sports performance and injury prevention have also resulted.

The immune checkpoint blockade-based immunotherapies are revolutionizing cancer management. Tumor-associated neutrophils (TANs) were recently highlighted to have a pivotal role in modulating the tumor microenvironment and the antitumor immune response. However, these cells were largely ignored during the development of therapies based on programmed cell death receptor or ligand-1 and cytotoxic T lymphocyte antigen-4 immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs). Latest evidences of neutrophil functional diversity in tumor raised many questions and suggest that targeting these cells can offer new treatment opportunities in the context of ICI development. Here, we summarized key information on TAN origin, function, and plasticity that should be considered when developing ICIs and provide a detailed review of the ongoing clinical trials that combine ICIs and a second compound that might affect or be affected by TANs. This review article synthetizes important notions from the literature demonstrating that: (1) Cancer development associates with a profound alteration of neutrophil biogenesis and function that can predict and interfere with the response to ICIs, (2) Neutrophil infiltration in tumor is associated with key features of resistance to ICIs, and (3) TANs play an important role in resistance to antiangiogenic drugs reducing their clinical benefit when used in combination with ICIs. Finally, exploring the clinical/translational aspects of neutrophil impact on the response to ICIs offers the opportunity to propose new translational research avenues to better understand TAN biology and treat patients.

The contents, context, and date of Problematical Deposit 50 bear on the origin, function, and meaning of Teotihuacan stylistic traits in the Southern Maya Lowlands. Archaeological data and material culture research appear to support emulation and adaptation by local rulers and elites, while an actual presence of Teotihuacanos is asserted by epigraphy and iconography. PD 50, the partial contents of a probable Early Classic chamber burial, appears to support local emulation, but an extraordinary pottery vessel, nicknamed here the “Arrival Bowl,” implies direct contact. The chronology and archaeological context demonstrate that the appearance of Teotihuacan stylistic traits at Tikal during the later Early Classic period is functionally distinct from the goods distributed over an interregional interaction sphere of much longer duration in which both Central Mexico and the Maya area participated. Furthermore, together with other features at Tikal, PD 50 suggests that adoption of Teotihuacan ideology by Tikal's elite was eventually met with resistance that contributed to the violence at the end of the Early Classic period that is manifested in the archaeological record.

The paper looked into concepts claimed to be essence of Chinese residential college, an on-going institution presumed to be a solution towards undergraduates&rsquo; issues in some pioneer universities in China. It&rsquo;s analyzed that Chinese residential college today in China is not a Shuyuan that was ever striving as a unique education mode in ancient China, even if it&rsquo;s named after Shuyuan in Chinese, concerning on its nature, function and goal, while it&rsquo;s not a conventional residential college in English speaking countries neither. By investigation and comparison of its origin, function and features among Shuyuan and Chinese residential college, the spirit of development of a human with goodness and well-being through pursuit of knowledge and culture inherited and transmitted in Shuyuan is unearthed, which is supposed to be the resource of inspiration when the pioneer universities and educators designed and operate residential college on Chinese campus, though the effects couldn&rsquo;t be accounted as appealing as what Shuyuan produced in ancient China. The research aims to depict a real Shuyuan, an education legacy every being alive in Chinese history, which were featured with paramount concepts and values that should be correctly recognized and implemented when there is great concern around undergraduates.
