Purpose. Find out the features of biometric indicators formation in sugar beet hybrids of domestic breeding. Methods. Field, laboratory. Results. According to the results of the research, it was determined that in early August, the maximum weight of roots (840 g) was in hybrid ‘ITsB 0904’. Good indicators were observed in hybrids ‘Umanskyi Ch S97’, ‘Soniachnyi’ and ‘Anichka’, 770, 780, and 800 g at the average group indicator of 730 g. It was investigated that the hybrid ‘Maksym’ (15.1%) and ‘Etiud’ (14.9%) were the best in terms of sugar accumulation in roots. Sugar content at the level of 14.8 % was observed in hybrids ‘Umanskyi ChS 97’, ‘Ramzes’, ‘Konstanta’, ‘Soniachnyi’ and ‘Verkhnia’ at the average group value of 14.5%. Conclusions. It is important to continue the study of the dynamics of root and leaf mass formation together with the process of sugar accumulation in roots in terms of establishing individual efficiency of hybrids and developing recommendations for the fullest realization of their potential in production conditions.

AbstractMetastasis is the main cause of carcinoma-related death, yet we know little about how it initiates due to our inability to visualize stochastic invasion events. Classical models suggest that cells accumulate mutations that first drive formation of a primary mass, and then downregulate epithelia-specific genes to cause invasion and metastasis. Here, using transparent zebrafish epidermis to model simple epithelia, we can directly image invasion. We find that KRas-transformation, implicated in early carcinogenesis steps, directly drives cell invasion by hijacking a process epithelia normally use to promote death—cell extrusion. Cells invading by basal cell extrusion simultaneously pinch off their apical epithelial determinants, endowing new plasticity. Following invasion, cells divide, enter the bloodstream, and differentiate into stromal, neuronal-like, and other cell types. Yet, only invading KRasV12 cells deficient in p53 survive and form internal masses. Together, we demonstrate that KRas-transformation alone causes cell invasion and partial dedifferentiation, independently of mass formation.

The article discusses the correction of the law of development of fatigue cracks based on the application of the Fokker–Planck–Kolmogorov equation. The coefficient of variation of the fatigue crack propagation rate was chosen as the correction criterion. Its decrease brings the descriptions of the fatigue fracture process closer to engineering. The latter is especially important for specialists dealing with the assessment of the fatigue strength of metal-consuming structures, where mass formation of fatigue cracks is inevitable.

The purpose of the study is a theoretical substantiation and empirical study of the psychological content parameters of the relationship between perfectionism and feelings of loneliness in youth. A new view of modern reality with its constant changes and increased requirements for the functioning of the individual in society has been substantiated. It is noted that such a view provokes the mass formation and spread of perfectionism and loneliness. It is noted that every day more and more people, especially young people, suffer from the imperfections of this world and the feeling of isolation from others. It has been established that socially conditioned perfectionism, concern for mistakes, doubts about one’s own actions and self-criticism have a positive significant connection with the feeling of loneliness in youth (p<.01). However, rigid perfectionism and self-centered perfectionism are inversely related to feelings of loneliness. It was found that young men are largely prone to self-centered perfectionism (p<.01). A pronounced high level of loneliness was observed in n=18 subjects. Attention has been drawn to the fact that doubts about one’s own actions and concern for mistakes inevitably provoke feelings of loneliness. Emphasis has been placed on important areas of actualization of empirical results in order to develop constructive perfectionism. It has been noted that the results obtained should be operationalized in educational and professional training of students-psychologists.

Aim: To compare the radiological diagnosis with surgical findings of acute appendicitis Methods: This study included patients presenting with the complaint of pain in the right iliac fossa suggestive of acute appendicitis. The criteria for inclusion; twelve to sixty-five years of age, the existence of pain in the abdomen especially right iliac fossa or lower quadrant. Patients who presented with shock were excluded. Subjects suspected of acute appendicitis were referred for ultrasonography, which was carried out by a senior radiologist. A linear and convex probe was used for ultrasonography. Patients with insignificant findings on ultrasonography were evaluated for pain in the lower right quadrant. Those with ultra-sonographic findings strongly suggestive of acute appendicitis underwent a further evaluation to rule out complications. Results: Our study is based on 900 patients who fulfilled criteria of inclusion, age ranged from 6-55 years (mean 35±6.9 years) male to female ratio (2.22:1), 1036 ultrasonographic scans were done in these patients, 964 urine routine examination. The radiological confirmation of acute appendicitis 723, while clinical diagnosis of 900 patients leading to operative intervention. Laparoscopic appendectomy was done in 288 patients while open surgery in 612 patients. Histopathology of specimen of all the patients were obtained. In sonographic findings, appendix was visualized in 723 (80.33%) patients, uncompressible tubular structure in 723(80.33%), fluid in right iliac region 118(13.11%), mesenteric node enlargement in 103(11.44%), high up subhepatic appendix in 23(2.55%), and mass formation in 24(2.66%) patients. The surgical operative findings in the patients are as: hyperemic swollen appendix 648(72%), Blackened/ gangrenous appendix 84(9.33%), Appendix with pus in surrounding area 57(6.33%), appendix swollen with enlarged mesenteric lymph nodes 210(23.33%), Perforated appendix 58(6.44%), Early mass formation 35(3.88%) and Subhepatic appendix 23(2.55%). Conclusion: Ultrasonography being non invasive investigation is advised to diagnosis appendicitis. It has optimal sensitivity and for its diagnosis and suitable diagnostic method for assessing complications of appendicitis. The false negative diagnosis at ultrasonography for acute appendicitis is quantified as 14.44% with accuracy or sensitivity of 85.46%. Keywords: Appendicitis, incompressible, tubular structure, clinical diagnosis.

Abstract Background Immunoglobulin G4 (IgG4)-related disease (IgG4-RD) is an immune-mediated fibroinflammatory condition with high serum IgG4 levels affecting various organs, such as the pancreas, lacrimal and salivary glands, thyroid, kidney, and lung. Typical cardiovascular manifestations of IgG4-RD include periaortitis, coronary arteritis, and pericarditis. However, reports of IgG4-RD associated with coronary arteritis are rare. Here, we report a case of IgG4-related masses surrounding the coronary arteries. Case summary A 59-year-old man was referred to our hospital because of mediastinal masses detected by computed tomography (CT). Coronary CT angiography revealed masses surrounding the right coronary artery and the left anterior descending coronary artery. An elevated serum level of IgG4 and histological findings led to the diagnosis of IgG4-related coronary arteritis with mass formation. Coronary angiography showed numerous feeding arteries to the masses, which were demonstrated as multiple microchannels in the intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) images. Discussion IgG4-RD involving the cardiovascular system has been reported. However, coronary artery disease associated with IgG4-RD is very rare, and the mechanism of mass formation in IgG4-related coronary arteritis is unclear. In our case, within the cardiovascular system, IgG4-RD was limited to the coronary arteries, suggesting that the affected coronary arteries may provide the necessary blood supply to the mass, thus, aiding its growth. These findings were supported by the images from coronary angiography and IVUS.

Maize seed is characterised by a variety of shapes and sizes, which directly or indirectly affect physiological properties. The aim of the present study was to establish the significance of the seed shape and size on the first count and germination. The following eight hybrids were used as a seed material in the trial: ZP196, ZP260, ZP341, ZP360, ZP434, ZP677, ZP684 and ZP704. The traits of seed shape and size were observed under laboratory conditions. The seed mass, the first count and germination were determined. The genotype and the seed fraction significantly affected the variance of seed mass formation, R2≥0,911, while the significance of these factors for the first count and germination was small with the coefficient of determination of R2≤0.129 and≤0.298, respectively. The first count and germination were high (above 95%) in all sizes and all shapes of seeds. The lowest first count and germination were detected in SO (94.2; 95.1, respectively), while the highest values were determined in SSP (97.1; 98.0, respectively). The importance of seed germination was determined by the analysis of variance (p<0.05).
