This research focused on batch experiment using a new generation of chelating resins via an ion exchange process to describe the metabolic adsorption and desorption capacity onto iminodiacetic acid/Chelex 100, bis-pyridylmethyl amine/Dowex m4195, and aminomethyl phosphonic/Lewatit TP260 functional groups in bioleaching. The results showed that Dowex m4195 had the highest performance of adsorption capacity for copper removal in both H+-form and Na+-form. Results for Lewatit TP260 and Chelex 100 revealed lower adsorption performance than results for Dowex m4195. The investigation of desorption from chelating resins was carried out, and it was found that 2 M ammonium hydroxide concentration provided the best desorption capacity of about 64.86% for the H+-form Dowex m4195 followed by 52.55% with 2 M sulfuric acid. Lewatit with 2 M hydrochloric acid gave the best desorption performance in Na+-form while Chelex 100 using hydrochloric at 1 M and 2 M provided similar results in terms of the H+-form and Na+-form. As aspects of the selective chelating resins for copper (II) ions in aqueous acidic solution generated from synthetic copper-citrate complexes from bioleaching of e-waste were considered, H+-form Dowex m4195 was a good performer in adsorption using ammonium hydroxide for the desorption. However, chelating resins used were subsequently reused for more than five cycles with an acidic and basic solution. It can be concluded from these results that selective chelating resins could be used as an alternative for the treatment of copper (II) ions contained in e-waste or application to other divalent metals in wastewater for sustainable water and adsorbent reuse as circular economy.

Coal mass is subjected to cyclic loading during pulsating hydraulic fracturing (PHF), and changes in its gas desorption properties affect gas drainage. Therefore, it is of great importance to correctly understand the influences of cyclic loading on the gas desorption properties of coal mass. Firstly, loading tests with different frequencies and amplitudes were performed on anthracite from Qinshui Basin (Shanxi Province, China) using a fatigue testing machine. Secondly, gas desorption tests were performed to determine the associated curves for each test group at different equilibrium pressures, and the initial desorption capacity and diffusion coefficient of the gas were calculated. Finally, the influence of different loading conditions on the gas desorption laws were analyzed. The test results demonstrate that a greater loading frequency increases the ratio of the initial desorption capacity so that the desorption rate of coal samples is higher, and the gas desorption properties become increasingly better in the initial stage. However, variations in the amplitude have minimal impact on the ratio of the initial desorption capacity. When the amplitude is too large in the initial stage, the diffusion coefficient decreases and the gas desorption properties worsen. In addition, the above test results are used to discuss the selection of the amplitude and frequency in the PHF process from a macroperspective. The contained research results provide an important theoretical basis for the field application of PHF technologies in coal mines.

AbstractPassive NOx adsorption (PNA) is a method, in which NOx can be stored at low temperatures and released at higher temperatures where the urea decomposition is functional during selective catalytic reduction (i.e., above 180–200 °C). We have studied the promotion of Pd/BEA with La as a PNA in the presence of high CO concentration. Both the reference and promoted samples exhibited a significant loss of NOx adsorption/desorption capacity after multiple cycles using 4000 ppm CO. However, already after 5 cycles, 99% of the NOx released between 200 and 400 °C was lost for Pd/BEA, compared to only 64% for Pd-La/BEA, which thereafter was stable. XPS and O2-TPD clearly showed that the Pd species were influenced by La. The PNA deactivation in the presence of CO could be related to Pd reduction followed by migration and the formation of more PdOx clusters, as observed by O2-TPD analysis. Interestingly, significantly more PdOx clusters formed on Pd/BEA after 10 cycles compared to Pd-La/BEA.

Mesoporous Al/MCM-41 was synthesized by extracting silicon carbide sludge and granite sludge as the sources of silicon and aluminum. Different concentrations of aminosilane (2.5, 5, 7.5 vol.%) were used to reflux the grafted NH2-Al/MCM-41 with amine functional groups (NH2-Al/MCM-41). The physical and chemical characteristics were analyzed. The results confirmed that silicon carbide sludge and granite sludge can effectively synthesize Al/MCM-41 with low cost and environmental protection. Reflow grafted amine functional groups can effectively improve the surface properties of NH2-Al/MCM-41. The moisture adsorption and desorption capacity of grafted NH2-Al/MCM-41 with amine functional groups was also studied. Based on moisture adsorption and desorption capacity, the surface properties of NH2-Al/MCM-41 were studied. When 5 vol.% of NH2-Al/MCM-41 amine functional groups is added, the moisture adsorption and desorption capacity is best. When the relative humidity = 95%, the equilibrium moisture content is 39.4 kg/kg, which complies with the standard of Japanese Industrial Standard (JIS A 1475). Therefore, the use of waste derived from the industry to replace expensive commercial materials was simple and environmentally friendly, and the grafted NH2-Al/MCM-41 with amine functional groups can be utilized in multiple applications, particularly as moisture regulation materials in building engineering.

For determining the effects of meta-tolyl-N-methylcarbamate (MTMC, metolcarb) on Aphrophora costalis Matsumura (ACM) and the migration and leaching law of MTMC in soil, the thin-layer chromatography method was used. The characteristics of migration and leaching of MTMC in the dark brown soils, and the most critical influences such as soil type, pH, and amount of water were considered to evaluate the impact of leaching rate. The results showed that 25% MTMC diluted 1,000 times was most effective in controlling ACM, with a mortality reaching 87.8% by root irrigation, and a mortality of up to 94.4% by root burial. For dark brown soil, clay minerals are primarily quartz, as well as small amounts of agalmatolite, mica, and kaolinite. Adsorption of MTMC by dark brown soil begins within 2 h, which increases rapidly in capacity before 16 h, and tends to balance with a decrease in the gradient concentration after 16 h. The desorption capacity of MTMC exhibits a gradual increase within 2 h, showing a maximum around 12 μg·g-1, which tends to stabilize after 12 h. MTMC has moderate mobility in dark brown soil. This research has important practical significance for controlling tree diseases and insect pests and protecting the environment.

We report column material for a 68Ge/68Ga generator with acid resistance and excellent adsorption and desorption capacity of 68Ge and 68Ga, respectively. Despite being a core element of the 68Ge/68Ga generator system, research on this has been insufficient. Therefore, we synthesized a low molecular chitosan-based TiO2 (LC-TiO2) adsorbent via a physical trapping method as a durable 68Ge/68Ga generator column material. The adsorption/desorption studies exhibited a higher separation factor of 68Ge/68Ga in the concentration range of HCl examined (0.01 M to 1.0 M). The prepared LC-TiO2 adsorbent showed acid resistance capabilities with >93% of 68Ga elution yield and 1.6 × 10−4% of 68Ge breakthrough. In particular, the labeling efficiency of DOTA and NOTA, by using the generator eluted 68Ga, was quite encouraging and confirmed to be 99.65 and 99.69%, respectively. Accordingly, the resulting behavior of LC-TiO2 towards 68Ge/68Ga adsorption/desorption capacity and stability with aqueous HCl exhibited a high potential for ion-exchange solid-phase extraction for the 68Ge/68Ga generator column material.

The current study presents a mixture for raw energy bars of fresh fruits of the exotic fruit Zizyphus jujuba Mill. with origin - Bulgaria. The physico-chemical indices of the ready mixture are analyzed. A high content of carbohydrates - 24.45% and of nourishing fiber - 22.08% is reported. The desorption capacity of the exotic mixture is examined for temperatures of 10°С, 25° and 40°С in eight watery activities from 11% to 85%. The analysis shows that the equilibrium moisture lowers with the raise of temperature in constant watery activities. The desorption isotherms are of type III according to the classification of Brunauer et al. The modified model of Halsey is recommended for the isotherms description according to the estimation criteria distribution, and the model of Oswin - as a second modified model. The values of the monolayer moisture content in aw <0.5 for temperatures 10°С - 5.46% dry basis (d.b.), 25°С - 5.72% d.b. and 40°C - 4.05% d.b. are calculated Brunauer-Emett-Teller model.
