Background: Traditional herbal is not permitted to contain chemicals drug. It is possible allowed such as paracetamol and phenylbutazone. Objective: This study is aimed to identify the compounds of paracetamol and phenylbutazone in the traditional herbal of Jamu Pegal Linu (Herbal Medicine). Methods: This type of research was descriptive and the sample was determined by random sampling. The method used Thin Layer Chromatography (TLC) which is a physicochemical method. There were eight samples were extracted by the soxhletation method until a thick extract was obtained to be spotted in the quite phase of TLC silica gel F254. The motion phase used for the analysis of paracetamol was chloroform: acetone: toluene (65:25:10) and the motion phase for phenylbutazone analysis was benzene: chloroform: 96% acetic acid (50:40:10). Spots detection was done by observing under UV light of 254 nm and the spots that appeared were calculated for Rf value and compared with the standard Rf value of paracetamol and phenylbutazone. Results: The results obtained in this study were positive E samples containing paracetamol and phenylbutazone with Rf value of sample 0.57 and a standard Rf of paracetamol 0.57 and an Rf value of sample 0.82 and a standard Rf of phenylbutazone 0.86. The positive G sample contained paracetamol with a sample Rf value of 0.61 and a standard Rf value of paracetamol 0.68.Conclusion: From the eight samples of ‘Jamu Pegal Linu’, two of them were positive containing chemical drugs paracetamol and phenylbutazone. Keywords: Jamu Pegal Linu (Herbal Medicine), Paracetamol, Phenylbutazone, TLC

The features of the genesis of technogenic lens elements of hydrocarbons under the sites of oil refineries are considered. Recommendations are given for the study and assessment of the dynamics of the state and migration of accumulated hydrocarbons in the geological environment using numerical and 3D modeling. The differences of technogenic lens elements from oil fields of natural origin are presented. It is shown that the object under study adversely affects all components of the geological environment. To reduce the anthropogenic load exerted by the oil lens elements, a physicochemical method has been proposed for cleaning contaminated rocks from pollutants using surfactants. This technology allows for the rehabilitation of the geological environment and at the same time to intensify the extraction of commercial hydrocarbons accumulated under the territories of oil refineries.

Ethylene oxide gas is highly toxic, highly flammable and explosive. It is also carcinogenic, mutagenic, teratogenic and neurotoxic. However, it is an excellent sterilant especially when applied to thermally sensitive medical and hospital materials. The present study aimed to carry out a literature review on ethylene oxide emphasizing its general characteristics, toxicity and comparison with other methods of sterilization. This is a narrative review, in which the retrieval of studies occurred in the databases Lilacs, Scielo, PubMed, Science Direct, Periódicos Capes and Theses Banks and dissertations of the public universities. A total of 126 studies were retrieved, and only 43 were used for the construction of this work. Ethylene oxide is characterized as an excellent physicochemical method, easy to diffuse and efficient against all microorganisms, provided it is correctly used. Compared with other sterilization methods such as autoclaving, PPH and VBTF, ethylene oxide proved to be more efficient, depending on the type of material submitted to the sterilization process. However, due to its capacity to contribute to the development of cancer, mainly the lymphohematopoietic system, its disuse and displeasure by health professionals, health services and companies has become frequent.
