The results of rhenium (VII) solvent extraction with synergistic mixtures of octyl alcohol and ketone from the high acid chloride and sulphate solutions with high accompanying metals (platinum and molybdenum) content, obtained from leaching of rhenium-containing wastes, were presented. It is shown that synergistic coefficients at rhenium solvent extraction by mixtures of 30–50 % v/v 2-octanol in 2-octanone were not exceeded 1.2–1.3. However, such mixtures recovered fewer impurities of Pt (IV) and Mo (VI), and the separation factors reached 16.0 and 573.2. Besides, mixtures of alcohol and ketone are characterized by higher rhenium (VII) capacity than the alcohol alone.

Effect of high molybdenum content ~10% as an alloying element on the strength and microstructural properties of 11% nickel—1.25% titanium maraging steel was evaluated. To increase the homogeneity and cleanliness of produced ingot, the investigated steel sample was produced by melting the raw material in an open-air induction melting furnace followed by refining utilizing a direct current electro-slag refining machine. The produced steel samples were both forged and heat-treated in optimum condition to acquire the full capacity of mechanical properties especially the tensile properties. After Forging and heat treatment at optimum condition, steel samples were evaluated by optical microscopy (OM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) analysis, electron backscattering diffraction (EBSD), and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The experimental data showed that this steel sample has ultimate strength ~2100 MPa and elongation around 14%. High tensile properties obtained may be attributed on one hand due to the presence of high alloying lamellar martensite phase and lamellar austenite phase which has high dislocation intensity, and on the other hand, due to the high homogeneity and cleanliness of investigated samples from large nonmetallic inclusions. The results also show that a high amount of intermetallic compounds (NiMo3 and NiTi3) which are completely round and have a very low size not more than hundred nanometers.

The conditions of heterovalent substitution in cationic and anionic positions of хK0,5Bi0,5MoO4 – (1-х)BiVO4 system within range of х = 0.1-0.9 with forming of К0,5xBi1-0,5x(MoxV1-x)O4 solid solutions, those possess scheelite-like type structure have been studied. All the samples of series were obtained by solid state technique. It was shown by IR spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction studies that molybdenum and vanadium occupying one crystallographic position with statistical distribution in х = 0.1–0.9 range of substitution. As result a lowering of lattice symmetry from tetragonal to monoclinic take place with increasing of molybdenum content. Charge compensation in system is realized through proportional substitution of bismuth by potassium in (К/Bi)O8 polyhedra. The data on diffuse reflectance indicate that increasing of substitution degree, x, lead to proportional increasing of band gap values from 2.33 to 2.72 eV for the semiconductors obtained. Intrinsic photoluminescence of the samples has been observed at low temperatures but is absent at room temperature. Total intensity of visible luminescence increases with increasing of molybdenum content in К0.5xBi1-0.5x(MoxV1-x)O4 solid solutions. Spectra of photoluminescence consist of wide two-component band with maxima at 620 and 705 nm, respectively. Simultaneous analysis of literature data and dependences of luminescence intensity on molybdenum content allow assumption that short-wavelength component related with centers, those formed on molybdate groups. Long-wavelength component related with vanadate groups. The wide bands at 375 and 410 nm in the photoluminescence excitation spectra were ascribed to absorption transitions in molybdate and vanadate oxyanions, respectively. The solid solutions studied can be used as hosts for luminescent ions or in elaboration of photocatalysts.
