The results of rhenium (VII) solvent extraction with synergistic mixtures of octyl alcohol and ketone from the high acid chloride and sulphate solutions with high accompanying metals (platinum and molybdenum) content, obtained from leaching of rhenium-containing wastes, were presented. It is shown that synergistic coefficients at rhenium solvent extraction by mixtures of 30–50 % v/v 2-octanol in 2-octanone were not exceeded 1.2–1.3. However, such mixtures recovered fewer impurities of Pt (IV) and Mo (VI), and the separation factors reached 16.0 and 573.2. Besides, mixtures of alcohol and ketone are characterized by higher rhenium (VII) capacity than the alcohol alone.

The method for maleopimaric acid N-(5-arylisoxazol-3-yl)amides synthesis has been developed by reaction of maleopimaric acid chloride with 3-amine-5-phenyl(4-methylphenyl)isoxazoles. N’-butyl-, N’-(2-hydroxyethyl)imides of maleopimaric acid N-(5-arylisoxazol-3-yl)amides were prepared. Heterocyclic imide – maleopimaric acid N-(quinolin-8-yl) imide was prepared by reaction of maleopimaric acid and 8-aminoquinoline in toluene at reflux in 97.1 % yield. It was established that refluxing of toluene solution of 8-aminoquinoline and maleated rosin, prepared by treatment of rosin with maleic anhydride and containing at least 50 % of maleopimaric acid, leads to the formation of maleopimaric acid N-(quinolin-8-yl)imide in 52.5 % yield (based on weight of maleated rosin). It was found by the methods of IR-, 1H NMR spectroscopy and mass-spectrometry that maleopimaric acid N-(quinolin-8-yl)imide consists of two diastereomeric atropisomers at 1:0.40 ratio. The biological properties of the prepared compounds were studied. It was established that maleopimaric acid N-(5-(4-methylphenyl)isoxazol-3-yl)amide possesses rotatory power (26 mkm-1) and may be used as chiral dopant to nematic LC for preparation of chiral LC-compositions.

Copolyarylates based on a mixture of 2,2-bis (4'-hydroxyphenyl) propane, 3,3-bis (4'-hydroxyphenyl) phthalide, terephthalic and isophthalic acid chlorides and 3,5-dibromo-p-hydroxybenzoic acid chloride were synthesized by low-temperature acceptor-catalytic polycondensation. To study the structure of the obtained polyesters and study the physical and mechanical properties, infrared spectroscopy, elemental, thermogravimetric, X-ray structural and thermomechanical analyzes were used. The obtained polymers have high values ​​of strength characteristics, thermal and heat resistance, good fire resistance.

Ten different 2, 7-disubstituted [1, 3, 4]-thiadiazolo [2, 3-b] quinazolin-5(4H)-ones were synthesized by action of 3-amino-2-mercaptoquinazolin-4(3H)-ones with various aliphatic and aromatic acid chloride in the presence of phosphorousoxy chloride. The newly synthesized compounds have been characterized by their analytical and spectral (IR, 1HNMR and Mass) properties. Further, they have been screened for their anti-inflammatory (in vitro and in vivo) by standard method.

The study tried to contribute to solving two serious environmental issues: CO2 reducing and sewage sludge disposal. Thus, sewage-sludge-derived materials were obtained in order to be evaluated for CO2 adsorption capacity. Therefore, the char resulted after the sewage sludge pyrolysis was subjected to oxidation and chemical activation processes by using different quantities of alkaline hydroxide. One of the obtained materials, activated with a lower quantity of alkaline hydroxide, was also treated with acid chloride. Further, the materials were structural and texturally characterized, and material treated with acid chloride was used for CO2 adsorption tests, due to high surface area and pore volume. The handmade system coupled to a gas chromatograph allowed the adsorption efficiency evaluation using different feed gases (rich and poor in CO2) by completed purge of pipe line and on-line check. Additionally, the adsorption capacity, separation efficiency, and CO2 recovery were calculated. Taking into account the values for adsorption capacity (separation efficiency and CO2 recovery), it can be concluded that the sewage sludge derived material could be a promising solution for CO2 reduction and waste disposal.

In this study, the effect of lignin esterification with fatty acid chloride on the properties of lignin and lignin/poly(lactic acid) (PLA) composites was investigated. Lignocellulose (Pinus densiflora S. et Z.) was treated using a deep eutectic solvent (DES) with choline chloride (ChCl)/lactic acid (LA). From the DES-soluble fraction, DES-lignin (DL) was isolated by a regeneration process. Lignin esterification was conducted with palmitoyl chloride (PC). As the PC loading increased for DL esterification, the Mw of esterified DL (EDL) was increased, and the glass transition temperature (Tg) was decreased. In DL or EDL/PLA composite films, it was observed that EDL/PLA had cleaner and smoother morphological characteristics than DL/PLA. The addition of DL or EDL in a PLA matrix resulted in a deterioration of tensile properties as compared with neat PLA. The EDL/PLA composite film had a higher tensile strength and elastic modulus than the DL/PLA composite film. DL esterification decreased water absorption with lower water diffusion coefficients. The effect of lignin esterification on improving the compatibility of lignin and PLA was demonstrated. These results are expected to contribute to the development of high-strength lignin composites.

<p>We report the synthesis of new aromatic derivatives containing the 1,3-dithiolane ether and benzyloximino moiety which are attached by simple alkylation and esterification reaction by treating 1,3-dithiolane-2-methanol and a-benzyloximino acid chloride respectively with various aromatic halides and alcohols, respectively. The isolated yields of these compounds range from 65 to 85%. 1,3-dithiolane ether and the benzyloxy substituted hydroquinone are white solids or residual oil and stable to air and moisture. </p>
