In the early 1960s, groups of artists begin to develop collective research in kinetic art and visual perception. By combining art, industrial design and technology, these ‘aesthetic operators’ lay the foundations for a multiplied art, made for everybody. The aim of their work is to open art to a genuine democratization process since the viewer would interact with these manipulable objects. However, this point of view questions the art myth of the ‘unique and unrepeatable’ artwork, which is replaced by the ‘open work’, produced in series by an interdisciplinary team. Moreover, the theory of anonymity and the multiples increase the critical debate concerning the concept of authenticity. The paper proposes a reflection on the diffusion of multiplied art during the 1960s. Through the analysis of the archival documents – some previously unpublished – the study identifies the crucial passages in which the experimentations of programmed Italian artists have embraced the democratic ideology of seriality.

In the course of formation, a society can regress to earlier stages of its development. Even solved problems can become topical again. In a crisis situation, there is a danger of an increase in the number of people confirmed by the anti-democratic ideology (fascism). That is why it is important to investigate the structure of the authoritarian personality and what contributes to its development. Empathy as a way of knowing other people is considered the best means of humanizing the individual and forming understanding. When considering the relationship, this hypothesis was refuted. The interaction of vulnerability to anti-democratic ideology and empathy is ambiguous. In this study, it was found that the channels of empathy make a destructive contribution to the structure of the personality. Positive relationships between the components of fascisation and the parameters of empathy aimed at collecting information from the external environment are established. In line with the systematic and acmeological approaches, it was revealed that the irrational channels of empathy: intuitive and emotional-contribute to the growth of Superstition and stereotypy, the Complex of Power and Projectivity. Basic in the interrelated components of fascisation and empathy channels is the irrationality and complexity of explication (deployment), explanation, verification of information. Thus, the heterogeneous and destabilising contribution of empathy to the structure of personality is shown.

The emergence of a new tech elite in Silicon Valley and beyond raises questions about the economic reach, political influence, and social importance of this group. How do these inordinately influential people think about the world and about our common future? In this paper, we test a) whether members of the tech elite share a common, meritocratic view of the world, b) whether they have a “mission” for the future, and c) how they view democracy as a political system. Our data set consists of information about the 100 richest people in the tech world, according to Forbes, and rests on their published pronouncements on Twitter, as well as on their statements on the websites of their philanthropic endeavors. Automated “bag-of-words” text and sentiment analyses reveal that the tech elite has a more meritocratic view of the world than the general US Twitter-using population. The tech elite also frequently promise to “make the world a better place,” but they do not differ from other extremely wealthy people in this respect. However, their relationship to democracy is contradictory. Based on these results, we conclude that the tech elite may be thought of as a “class for itself” in Marx’s sense—a social group that shares particular views of the world, which in this case means meritocratic, missionary, and inconsistent democratic ideology.

The article examines the problem of social justice and equality in education, and its reflection in the socio-political discourse and education systems of four Nordic countries: Denmark, Norway, Finland and Sweden. The author traces the movement in the Scandinavian countries towards redefining equality in the focus of the social democratic ideology from providing equal starting opportunities and equal access to educational resources to a wider equalization, which includes educational outcomes. The experience of the Scandinavian countries to achieve "education for all" is presented, reflected in the national programs and refracted through the prism of the socio-political and institutional context. The deep relation between the adopted egalitarian course in education, typical for the countries in the region and their leading positions in international educational rankings, as well as the high level of socio-economic well-being is considered.

In his chapter, Fox argues that citizens deserve “opacity respect” in which the state withholds from peering into citizens’ lives to determine their capacities, for good or ill. Governments should assume that we are rational agents, barring certain obvious exceptions such as infants and people who are mentally incapacitated, in the same way that we assume this of each other. To dig deeper, without permission, is to undermine human dignity and that which renders us equal as humans, thereby forming a foundation of the democratic ideology.
