Extreme-size wind turbines face logistical challenges due to their sheer size. A solution, segmentation, is examined for an extreme-scale 50 MW wind turbine with 250 m blades using a systematic approach. Segmentation poses challenges regarding minimizing joint mass, transferring loads between segments and logistics. We investigate the feasibility of segmenting a 250 m blade by developing design methods and analyzing the impact of segmentation on the blade mass and blade frequencies. This investigation considers various variables such as joint types (bolted and bonded), adhesive materials, joint locations, number of joints and taper ratios (ply dropping). Segmentation increases blade mass by 4.1%–62% with bolted joints and by 0.4%–3.6% with bonded joints for taper ratios up to 1:10. Cases with large mass growth significantly reduce blade frequencies potentially challenging the control design. We show that segmentation of an extreme-scale blade is possible but mass reduction is necessary to improve its feasibility.

The article examines the quality indicators of adhesive materials that form the dimensional stability of the transformed parts, and substantiates the processing methods. As a result, the order of gluing the parts and the order of gluing the adhesive materials used in the manufacture of transformable sets were determined.

The use of dental adhesive materials in dental practice everyday has raised questions about the biological effects on tissues. Adhesive system has attracted considerable research interest in recent years, dental adhesive will succeed depends on the chemical adhesive, on the appropriate clinical management of materials and the knowledge of morphological changes in dental tissue caused by different bonding procedures. Some studies suggest that the dental adhesive material Genotoxicity have any effect on the network. Genotoxic effects may significantly reduce the potential for tissue repair or cause the development of neoplasia in the long term.

Briquette is an alternative simple fuel that has a relatively high calorific value, so it has the potential to reduce the use of firewood and fuel oil (BBM). Herbal waste is one of the biomass materials that came from the rest of the material in the production of herbal medicine made from medicinal plants. Utilization of herbal dregs as briquettes has been implemented by PT. Industri Jamu dan Farmasi Sido Muncul. Tbk, as fuel for boiler engines. Making briquettes from biomass requires the addition of materials, one of which is coconut shell charcoal and adhesives such as molasses and tapioca flour to improve the physical properties of the briquettes. Briquettes with good quality have a maximum moisture content and ash content of 8%, a heating value of more than 5000 cal/gram, a constant combustion temperature of 350℃ for a long period of time and is easily flammable. The purpose of this study was to determine the characteristics of briquettes based on the value of water content, ash content, combustion temperature, combustion rate, and calorific value. Variable treatment with the addition of coconut shell charcoal with several doses of 10%, 20%, and 30% and variations of adhesive materials. Data analysis was performed by using two-factor ANOVA statistical test. The results showed that briquettes with tapioca flour adhesive and 30% coconut shell charcoal composition had the best characteristics of briquettes compared to other variations.

The article examines the features of the use of innovative materials in the organization of clinical treatment in dentistry. In modern conditions, solving the problem of patient safety is one of the main conditions for the functioning of medicine in general and dentistry in particular.  For this reason, the search for innovations in the field of antimicrobial protection and, together with it, the functionality of various materials is one of the main tasks of researchers in the field of dentistry. Nanomaterials, which are made on the basis of graphene, are able to demonstrate excellent antimicrobial properties. These materials have the ability to disrupt the integrity of the bacterial cell membrane and produce reactive oxygen species (ROS). These materials are widely used in the manufacture of dentures, they are incorporated in the composition of composite resins and luting cements in the organization of restorative treatment, are used for the manufacture of adhesive materials.  Many experts recognize that these materials are the future of dental practice, since they have the ability to provide a high level of functionality and safety.
