The goal of this research is to use information and communication technology (ICT) to develop so-called “virtual field trip” s ystem and the software follows the principles of the anchored instruction, whereby we can design a worksheet for outdoor education. The system combines the anchored instruction, worksheet, and image-based VR in order to make it as a supplementary tool for students before they have a field trip and to raise their learning motivation. Besides, the research also discusses the difference between traditional outdoor education and the model mentioned above.

This research is an experimental study using the Anchored Instruction learning model. This study aims to determine the effect of the Anchored Instruction learning model on student learning outcomes on the mole concept subject. This research was conducted in class X SMA Negeri 2 Siau Timur with a sample of 40 people. The research design used was a pre-test and randomized two group design. The experimental class uses the Anchored Instruction learning model and the control class uses the conventional learning model. Analysis of the hypothesis test using t-test with a significant level α = 0.05. The test results obtained indicate that the results of tcount> ttable or 2.112> 2.024, thus H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted, this shows that there is a significant difference between the average value of the initial test (posttest) of the experimental group and the control group. So it can be concluded that there is a difference between student learning outcomes using the Anchored Instruction learning model and student learning outcomes using conventional learning models on mole concept subject.

The purpose of this study is to develop teaching materials of Sony Vegas media based with anchored instruction models. The development of this teaching material used the Research and Development (R&D) method with the 4D model (Define, Design, Develop, and Dessiminate). This research was started from the define stage where at this stage identification of material concepts were carried out in the textbook. Furthermore, the design and manufacture of Sony Vegas media based teaching materials with anchored instruction models was carried out in the design phase. After the teaching materials have been designed and made, the development stage was carried out, namely product validation by experts and product trials in the lecture process. Based on the results of this develop phase, it can be stated that the product was valid and practical, so it can be continued to the dessiminate stage. Based on the results of the validation of media experts, material experts, and small group trials. As a whole the development of teaching material with Soni Vegas-based is appropriate to be used as teaching material with an average value of  96.17% and it  includes in the criteria of "Very Valid”.

Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education initiatives have placed pressure on teachers to bring technology tools into classroom, including three-dimensional (3D) printing. Yet, little research has examined what specific math skills are required for 3D printing technology. This article describes a follow-up analysis of findings from a quasi-experimental study that tested feasibility of 3D geometry instruction, Anchored Instruction with Technology Applications (AITA), designed to help students visualize and construct 3D models based on Enhanced Anchored Instruction. Although we found that AITA improved math outcomes of students with math learning disabilities (MLD) in the previous analysis, we only used composite scores encompassing a variety of math and spatial tasks. In this study, we employed item response theory and differential item functioning to examine the impacts of MLD on students’ spatial thinking skills, understand the types of items to assess the intended skills in a valid way, and provide a detailed information of whether student ability and MLD status have caused different results to assess students’ spatial thinking skills. Results showed that students with MLD struggle to learn spatial thinking skills, and AITA was a significant positive indicator to improve spatial thinking skills for both students with and without MLD.
