Abstract Rapid Reservoir Modelling (RRM) is a software tool that combines geological operators and a flow diagnostics module with sketch-based interface and modelling technology. The geological operators account for all interactions of stratigraphic surfaces and ensure that the resulting 3D models are stratigraphically valid. The geological operators allow users to sketch in any order, from oldest to youngest, from large to small, or free of any prescribed order, depending on data-driven or concept-driven uncertainty in interpretation. Flow diagnostics assessment of the sketched models enforces the link between geological interpretation and flow behaviour without using time-consuming and computationally expensive workflows. Output of RRM models includes static measures of facies architecture, flow diagnostics and model elements that can be exported to industry-standard software. A deep-water case is presented to show how assessing the impact of different scenarios at a prototyping stage allows users to make informed decisions about subsequent modelling efforts and approaches. Furthermore, RRM provides a valuable method for training or to develop geological interpretation skills, in front of an outcrop or directly on subsurface data.

The main purpose of this article was to determine the impact on the equilibrium of the local transport system from privileging EVs by permitting them to use bus lanes. The study used two sets of data: information on infrastructure and traffic management; and information on the recorded road network loads and traffic volumes generated by a given shopping centre—the E. Leclerc shopping centre (an important traffic generator within the city of Łódź, Poland). These sets were then used to develop a microsimulation traffic model for the shopping centre and the associated effects on the localised transport system. The model was constructed by means of the PTV Vissim software tool. An initial simulation was conducted that formed a basis for subsequent scenarios (in total, 17 simulations were performed). On the basis of the conducted analyses, it was established that—for the researched part of the transport system—privileging the still rather uncommon battery electric vehicles (BEVs) engendered a marginal deterioration of traffic conditions. At the same time, allowing BEVs to use bus lanes within the chosen research area had no negative impact on bus journey times.

This paper describes the process of developing a software tool for digital artistic exploration of 3D human figures. Previously available software for modeling mesh-based 3D human figures restricts user output based on normative assumptions about the form that a body might take, particularly in terms of gender, race, and disability status, which are reinforced by ubiquitous use of range-limited sliders mapped to singular high-level design parameters. CreatorCustom, the software prototype created during this research, is designed to foreground an exploratory approach to modeling 3D human bodies, treating the digital body as a sculptural landscape rather than a presupposed form for rote technical representation. Building on prior research into serendipity in Human-Computer Interaction and 3D modeling systems for users at various levels of proficiency, among other areas, this research comprises two qualitative studies and investigation of the impact on the first author's artistic practice. Study 1 uses interviews and practice sessions to explore the practices of six queer artists working with the body and the language, materials, and actions they use in their practice; these then informed the design of the software tool. Study 2 investigates the usability, creativity support, and bodily implications of the software when used by thirteen artists in a workshop. These studies reveal the importance of exploration and unexpectedness in artistic practice, and a desire for experimental digital approaches to the human form.

Infections caused by ceftolozane/tazobactam and ceftazidime/avibactam-resistant P. aeruginosa infections are an emerging concern. We aimed to analyze the underlying ceftolozane/tazobactam and ceftazidime/avibactam resistance mechanisms in all MDR/XDR P. aeruginosa isolates recovered during one year (2020) from patients with a documented P. aeruginosa infection. Fifteen isolates showing ceftolozane/tazobactam and ceftazidime/avibactam resistance were evaluated. Clinical conditions, previous positive cultures and β-lactams received in the previous month were reviewed for each patient. MICs were determined by broth microdilution. MLSTs and resistance mechanisms were determined using short- and long-read WGS. The impact of PDCs on β-lactam resistance was demonstrated by cloning into an ampC -deficient PAO1 derivative (PAOΔC) and construction of 3D models. Genetic support of acquired β-lactamases was determined in silico from high-quality hybrid assemblies. In most cases, the isolates were recovered after treatment with ceftolozane/tazobactam or ceftazidime/avibactam. Seven isolates from different STs owed their β-lactam resistance to chromosomal mutations and all displayed specific substitutions in PDC: Phe121Leu and Gly222Ser, Pro154Leu, Ala201Thr, Gly214Arg, ΔGly203-Glu219 and Glu219Lys. In the other eight isolates, the ST175 clone was overrepresented (6 isolates) and associated with IMP-28 and IMP-13, whereas two ST1284 isolates produced VIM-2. The cloned PDCs conferred enhanced cephalosporin resistance. 3D PDC models revealed rearrangements affecting residues involved in cephalosporin hydrolysis. Carbapenemases were chromosomal (VIM-2) or plasmid-borne (IMP-28, IMP-13), and associated with class-1 integrons located in Tn402-like transposition modules. Our findings highlight that cephalosporin/ß-lactamase inhibitors are potential selectors of MDR/XDR P. aeruginosa strains producing PDC variants or metallo-ß-lactamases. Judicious use of these agents is encouraged.

The thermal management of a system needs an accurate and efficient measurement of exergy. For optimal performance, entropy should be minimized. This study explores the enhancement of the thermal exchange and entropy in the stream of Eyring–Powell fluid comprising nanoparticles saturating the vertical oriented dual cylindrical domain with uniform thermal conductivity and viscous dissipation effects. A symmetrical sine wave over the walls is used to induce the flow. The mathematical treatment for the conservation laws are described by a set of PDEs, which are, later on, converted to ordinary differential equations by homotopy deformations and then evaluated on the Mathematica software tool. The expression of the pressure rise term has been handled numerically by using numerical integration by Mathematica through the algorithm of the Newton–Cotes formula. The impact of the various factors on velocity, heat, entropy profile, and the Bejan number are elaborated pictorially and tabularly. The entropy generation is enhanced with the variation of viscous dissipation but reduced in the case of the concentration parameter, but viscous dissipation reveals opposite findings for the Newtonian fluid. From the abovementioned detailed discussion, it can be concluded that Eyring–Powell shows the difference in behavior in the entropy generation and in the presence of nanoparticles due to the significant dissipation effects, and also, it travels faster than the viscous fluid. A comparison between the Eyring-Powell and Newtonian fluid are also made for each pertinent parameter through special cases. This study may be applicable for cancer therapy in biomedicine by nanofluid characteristics in various drugs considered as a non-Newtonian fluid.

Earthquakes are the natural disaster occurring since years but during the last two decades they are causing huge looses whether it may economic or to life. This paper focuses to evaluate the seismic performance of various building confirming to Indian standard criteria for earthquake resistant design of structures and ductile detailing of reinforced concrete structures subjected to seismic Forces-code of practice, Bureau of Indian Standards, both as per the revised codes in the year 2016. Due to ground shaking, seismic loads are the governing load and thus it becomes necessary to assess the conditional probability of structural response. Use of HAZUS methodology is followed to construct seismic fragility curves as it is well-organized and defined approach. Spectral displacement plays the functional parameter to derive the expected damage for fragility. This work represented here is compiled by means of procedure for establishing the fragility curves for three typical Reinforced Concrete (RC) frame structures having variations resembling 3 storey intended for short-period structures, 6 storey used for medium-period structures and 12 storey representing long-period structures using SAP2000 as a software tool for analyzing the structure. Furthermore an attempt is made for focus on the variation of one of the major structural configuration i.e. slab thickness which is not certainly paid attention as compared to columns and beams. Slabs adds additional stiffness to the structure which can enlighten how it behaviour would be when subjected to ground excitation. As a result, the fragility curves are plotted to study the impact due to slab thickness in order they are carefully selected while design.

Six normal fault zones, with throws ranging from a few meters up to 50 m, were studied within an active, open pit, lignite mine in Ptolemais. Each fault was mapped 20 times over a period of five years because at intervals of ca. 3 months working faces are taken back between 20 and 50 m exposing fresh fault outcrops for mapping.Various resolutions of photographs and structural measurements were imported into a fully georeferenced 3D structural interpretation package, resulting in aseismic scale and outcrop resolution 3D fault volume with outcrop and panoramic photographs acting as the seismic sections in equivalent seismic surveys. Low resolution 3D models for the fault system structure at mine scale and higher-resolution 3D models for the fault zone structure were produced after geological interpretation and they can be used for qualitative and quantitative analysis.

Aim research: to develop and implement a patient registration register after relaparotomies in operation on the basis of a clinical oncological dispensary. The premise of this study was the need to obtain statistical data to analyze the effectiveness of vacuum therapy during relaparotomies. By automating the process of recording relaparotomy data, it will be possible to analyze the impact of various factors on patient mortality. Designed the interface and database structure. Based on the described methods and tools, a specialized module of the medical information system for recording relaparotomies has been developed. Since the development took into account all the requirements of medical specialists in a specific field of knowledge, it was possible to develop a specialized software tool that can be used to obtain specific statistics. A patient registration register after relaparotomy was developed and implemented as a specialized module of the medical information system. The register collects, analyzes and interprets data on surgical methods used, including the use of vacuum therapy. To achieve the goal set in this work, the methods and tools presented in the article were used, which were applied in practice and can be similarly used in other medical institutions.
