The Audit Board of the Republic of Indonesia is known as Badan Pemeriksa Keuangan (BPK). In carrying out its duties and functions, it empowers and relies on information technology (IT) infrastructure that covers all aspects, including planning, procurement, service provision, information asset security, service continuity, and evaluation. BPK implements a collaboration portal to meet service needs and teamwork during the audit process, ad-hoc committees, and leader instructions to follow BPK’s strategic plan. BPK needs to assess the effect of the collaboration portal in supporting employee performance and improving IT services. As a result, this study aims to investigate the factors that influence the effectiveness of the BPK collaboration portal. This study used Delone and McLean model of information system success by looking at the relationship of system quality, information quality, service quality, facilitating conditions, and collaboration quality to user satisfaction and individual job performance. The research method used a quantitative approach with partial least squares-structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM). The sample data was collected from 60 respondents at BPK. The data obtained from the respondents were processed using the SmartPLS application. The study results show that information quality, facilitating conditions, and collaboration quality positively and significantly affect user satisfaction. There is a positive and significant influence of user satisfaction on individual job performance. In addition, system quality and service quality do not significantly influence user satisfaction with collaboration portal services.

Design thinking has gained popularity in the corporate context. It has already proven to be a valuable approach to problem-solving within an organisation, but research has neglected its impact on external partnerships. Since most researchers use qualitative research designs, there is little quantitative empirical evidence on design thinking. This study applies a multi-informant survey design that considers the project and the organisational level. Based on 212 projects in 78 companies, we examine the relationship between design thinking and the external collaboration quality and overall project success. Further, we evaluate structural, cultural, and task-related contingencies. Our results suggest that design thinking as a collaborative and empathic problem-solving approach strengthens external collaboration quality enhancing overall project success. Team continuity positively moderates this relationship. This study contributes to the existing literature in design thinking and open innovation by proposing the design thinking methodology as a valuable approach in inter-organisational relationships.

Abstract Introduction Strategies to improve fragmented care for individuals with chronic conditions can be futile if those health care professionals who would have benefited are not engaged. We aimed to explore motivation and previous collaboration quality of general practitioners (GPs) and specialists who participate in an intervention study to improve their collaboration, and GPs who do not participate. Methods Explorative survey among rural GPs and specialists for spinal cord injury (SCI) participating in an intervention to improve collaboration, and non-participating GPs, from August to October 2020, in Switzerland. Results Eight GPs and 13 specialists of the intervention study and 23 non-participating GPs took part. Specialists were from various medical disciplines. Participating GPs were located farther away from a hospital and consulted a higher number of patients. Overall, the collaboration quality at the primary-secondary care interface was good. Whereas specialists and participating GPs were mostly satisfied with their collaboration, non-participating GPs’ reported a lower quality regarding some aspects of collaboration. Furthermore, differences in collaboration quality between general chronic care and SCI specific care could be observed. Conclusion The collaboration quality was rather high in participating physicians. The benefit of the intervention would have been higher in non-participating than participating GPs. When participation is optional, interventions to improve collaboration likely do not achieve the effect that would actually be possible.

The main focus of this study is developing synergized network asset as a mediator variable for improving marketing performance. The research model was tested using AMOS SEM on 280 local market-oriented furniture makers. The output of the statistical analysis confirms that two buffer variables, namely relational capability and market dynamic adaptability, sustain synergized network asset and marketing performance. However, synergized network asset does not play a strong mediation role in increasing marketing performance. The slow-growing furniture industry is in greater need of responsive rather than synergistic cooperation. The concept of synergized network asset, which is characterized by the sustainability of collaboration quality, contributes to the development of business network theory as one of the main factors in marketing relationships.

Interpersonal physiological synchrony has been consistently found during collaborative tasks. However, few studies have applied synchrony to predict collaborative learning quality in real classroom. To explore the relationship between interpersonal physiological synchrony and collaborative learning activities, this study collected electrodermal activity (EDA) and heart rate (HR) during naturalistic class sessions and compared the physiological synchrony between independent task and group discussion task. The students were recruited from a renowned university in China. Since each student learn differently and not everyone prefers collaborative learning, participants were sorted into collaboration and independent dyads based on their collaborative behaviors before data analysis. The result showed that, during group discussions, high collaboration pairs produced significantly higher synchrony than low collaboration dyads (p = 0.010). Given the equivalent engagement level during independent and collaborative tasks, the difference of physiological synchrony between high and low collaboration dyads was triggered by collaboration quality. Building upon this result, the classification analysis was conducted, indicating that EDA synchrony can identify different levels of collaboration quality (AUC = 0.767 and p = 0.015).

Multimodal Learning Analytics (MMLA) researchers are progressively employing machine learning (ML) techniques to develop predictive models to improve learning and teaching practices. These predictive models are often evaluated for their generalizability using methods from the ML domain, which do not take into account MMLA’s educational nature. Furthermore, there is a lack of systematization in model evaluation in MMLA, which is also reflected in the heterogeneous reporting of the evaluation results. To overcome these issues, this paper proposes an evaluation framework to assess and report the generalizability of ML models in MMLA (EFAR-MMLA). To illustrate the usefulness of EFAR-MMLA, we present a case study with two datasets, each with audio and log data collected from a classroom during a collaborative learning session. In this case study, regression models are developed for collaboration quality and its sub-dimensions, and their generalizability is evaluated and reported. The framework helped us to systematically detect and report that the models achieved better performance when evaluated using hold-out or cross-validation but quickly degraded when evaluated across different student groups and learning contexts. The framework helps to open up a “wicked problem” in MMLA research that remains fuzzy (i.e., the generalizability of ML models), which is critical to both accumulating knowledge in the research community and demonstrating the practical relevance of these techniques.

PurposeThis paper aims to evaluate the collaboration quality performance of sugar company Z and its stakeholders (farmers and distributors) by considering the sustainability aspects. This assessment shall be able to integrate qualitative and quantitative factors in the model, which is critical in sugar supply chains involving multi-stakeholders.Design/methodology/approachIntegration of quality function deployment (QFD), the fuzzy analytical network process (FANP) and the data envelopment analysis (DEA) is administered to assess the efficiency score of each stakeholder involved. The evaluation encompasses collaboration behaviour factors since the input of collaboration activities will result in sustainability aspects such as revenue, green house gas (GHG) emissions and social impact. The analysis has been conducted in two scenarios, those are the basic scenario by utilising original data and the extended scenario by using projection data.FindingsThe result clarifies that the most influential behaviour factor in the collaboration activities is commitment (0.116), while the least important behaviour factors are power (0.008) and adaptation (0.008). Furthermore, by using the extended scenario, the overall efficiency for each benchmarking is higher compared to the condition before the improvement (basic scenario).Research limitations/implicationsThe result of this study is only relevant to the particular sugar supply chain and involving limited sustainability variables. Therefore, in a further study, more variables such as technical and financial aspects could be explored further in the assessment process.Practical implicationsThe result of this study is available for each stakeholder and can be fundamental for the constant improvement in sustainable supply chain (SSC) practices. It shows that an improvement of one stakeholder will positively impact the entire system.Social implicationsSmallholders and sugarcane farmers will recognise the significance of collaboration behaviour. Thus, they can enhance their mutual benefits by using the existing resources.Originality/valueThis paper arranges for a practical contribution by implementing advanced assessment methods in the sugar supply chain by taking into account the economic, environmental and social aspects. This comprehensive assessment process in the sugar supply chain is the novelty of this paper.
