Abstract: The article aims at an in-depth analysis of the Communist Party of Ukraine crisis at the time of Perestroika (1985-1991). The consequences of the crisis are mass resignations, formation of fractions and platforms, regionalization and decentralization of party structures. Furthermore, the crisis contributes to continuing fall in authority of CPSU in general and of CPU in particular limiting its access to real levers of influence upon the transformational processes; the loss of control over the course of reforms; the growth of spontaneity, chaos and uncontrollability in the development of society. In order to overcome the crisis, the Communist Party makes an attempt at a generational change in the Soviet party nomenclature, which is supposed to significantly rejuvenate the political elite of the USSR and the Ukrainian SSR. However, the authors of the article, having analyzed archival documents, prove that in the Ukrainian SSR, a generational change does not take place, and the young cadres who come to power have no real influence. An attempt to change generations in the country's political elite fails and becomes the cause of internal political conflict.

Abstract This article examines how historical representation of the deportation of Kalmyks to Siberia has changed in compliance with the politics of history in Russia. It traces the shift from silence on this topic under communism to the dramatisation of it in the 1990s when the communists lost their power, and finally to the softening of this event in the last decades when state ideology under Putin’s administration is striving to unite the peoples of Russia around the victory in the World War II, leaving the history of the ‘purged peoples’ on the sidelines of this triumph. This evolution from a tragic to a more positive narrative is reflected in the messages of public spectacles about the deportation. The softened approach to this traumatic event was also linked to generational change: its eldest witnesses today are the people who were born between 1943 and 1956 and who were too young to remember its hardships. The author analyses classic theatre performances (‘Arash’, 1995, and ‘Kalmychka’, 2018) and mass agitational campaigns, such as the Trains of Remembrance which took present-day Kalmyks to Siberia to express gratitude symbolically to Siberians who helped them in the difficult period. These spectacles are not mere historical illustrations of the past, but new revisions of it.

The transition to the information society makes us think about the readiness of graduates for life and work in the society of the 21st century. Given that the rate of transformation of production technologies is now ahead of the rate of generational change, it is necessary not only to improve and additional training but also to repeatedly master new types ofactivities during working life: continuous education becomes an integral part of every person's life. To simplify the perception of the increasing flow of information at various stages of the educational process, it is necessary to introduce innovative information technologies, one of which can be technical means of intelligent processing of educational content, the quality of which determines the course and outcome of the educational process.

The analyses are based on teachers’ memoirs and autobiographical narratives that have been collected as a result of subsequent editions of research conducted between 1989 and 2016. These narratives show the problems, tensions and transformations in education, and in the role of a teacher in Poland over the past 30 years. Changes seen through the eyes of successive generations of teachers, against the background of their life history and professional experiences and achievements, are a record of the changes that took place during the system transformation. They may be the evidence of an inevitable generational change in the teaching profession and teacher community. Research shows that the generation born in the 1950s and 1960s, involved in the democratic changes in Poland at the turn of the 1980s and 1990s, is leaving the teaching profession. This generation participated in the “Solidarity” social movement. Its members were brought up and educated in the sense of a strong social commitment, the so-called ethos. Currently, young teachers born in the 1990s and later enter the profession. They belong to the generation of free, democratic Poland, which has a more pragmatic attitude to life and professional work in education. This is the generation of the internet, unlimited choice, and open global access to information and goods. The implications of such findings are discussed in the article.

Összefoglaló. Tanulmányunkban a Tömeges Nyitott Online Kurzusok (angolul: Massive Open Online Education, rövidítése MOOC) kialakulásával és óriási méretű növekedésével foglalkozunk. A rövid előzményekkel rendelkező, mai formájában 2011-ben startolt új típusú oktatási forma jelenleg már alapképzéses és mesterképzéses diplomát is ad. Ily módon beszélhetünk MOOC egyetemekről, melyek sok szerző szerint a Christensen-féle romboló újítás megtestesítői a felsőoktatásban. A MOOC népszerűsége egyúttal jelzi, hogy a napjainkban lezajló generációváltás egyben oktástechnikai változással is párosul. Cikkünkben összehasonlítjuk a MOOC egyetemek jóléti hatásait a Gutenberg-féle könyvnyomtatás jóléti hatásaival. A szolgáltatói oldalhoz kapcsolódóan pedig bemutatjuk a MOOC-platformok jelenleg működő finanszírozási modelljeit. Summary. The study analyses the emergence and huge growth of the Massive Open Online Education. This new type of education which started in 2011 in its current form and so has only a very short history, now offers both bachelor’s and master’s degree. MOOC universities are seen by many authors as the embodiment of Christensen’s destructive innovation. At the same time, the popularity of MOOC indicates that the generational change taking place today is accompanied by a change in educational technology. The present paper compares the welfare effects of MOOC universities with the welfare effects of Gutenberg’s book printing. In connection with the service provider side, the paper presents the financing models of the MOOC platforms as well.

In light of the global economy, it is undeniable that small businesses such as family-owned small and medium enterprises (SMEs) affect economic performance globally. They offer a key basis of flexibility and innovation but also face some challenges along the way. Since family SMEs form a large portion in the Malaysian corporate sector, the economy of this country is highly dependent on family firms’ entrepreneurial capacity. During the past decade, although family SMEs innovation is analytically and empirically reviewed in terms of theory building, it still lacks a systematic adoption of thorough and theoretically-based frameworks to gain understanding on the evolution of knowledge transformation surrounding this topic. This study primarily focuses on the development of tacit knowledge through innovation during generational change with specific attention given to three family firms ranging from old, new and declining wealth enterprises. Besides, this article appraises the evolution of SMEs innovation when new generations attempt to transform the tacit knowledge in advancing the products innovation and quality branding in Malaysia.

This study sought to examine the suitability of the Cultural Mistrust Inventory (CMI) items for contemporary interracial social relationships on social media. The study employed qualitative cognitive interviews with 28 persons of color in the U.S. Findings suggest that the CMI may not be a suitable measure for accurately assessing relational trust across different racial groups on social media due to generational change in consciousness about race relations, and the perceived ambiguity of the CMI items. Findings also reveal that the CMI is limited in its ability to assess racial trust on social media and may not account for how trust manifests across different social media platforms. These findings suggest that the continued use of the CMI to assess contemporary interracial relationships is not recommended.
