Why build a "Science Museum" in primary school? How to develop and implement "Science Museum" project? In this paper, the practice of Group of Xiao Xiao Science and Engineering in the Science Museum of Primary School Attached to Nanjing Xiaozhuang University is taken as an example. The Science Museum introduces learning new curriculum standard, putting the new concept into practice, promotion the Science Museum with the Science and technology activities and science courses organic integration. At the same time, it also discusses how to develop the curriculum by relying on the Group of Xiao Xiao Science and Engineering. To promote the "little gentleman" system, Developing a new learning model of the Group of Xiao Xiao Science and Engineering.

STEAM education is a new direction of education reform in the 21st century. It can cultivate students’ ability to creatively solve practical problems, integrate and apply interdisciplinary knowledge. It is an effective way to help students master the 21st century’s abilities. All countries spare no effort to let it be local Take root. The integration of design thinking and STEAM education provides a good opportunity for students' comprehensive and creative development. Therefore, we use the D. School design thinking model developed by Stanford University to develop a STEAM course based on design thinking to improve students' STEAM literacy and the skills and abilities that company needs for high-quality development. This STEAM course takes "Self-induction Demonstrator" as the project theme, including five steps: Empathize, Define, Ideal, Prototype, and Test. It aims to provide a reference paradigm for the design and implementation of the K-12 STEAM course, and promote the deep integration of science, technology, engineering, mathematics and art.

This study examined learning assessment practices in universities taking one Academic Unit in Addis Ababa University (AAU), Ethiopian as a case. A qualitative approach was employed to generate data from 20 instructors who were attending a capacity building training at the Academic Unit. Supplementary data were secured by reviewing literatures and guidelines. The results have shown that students’ mastery of the learning outcomes (LOs), and achievement of the criterion-referenced assessment requirements were not to the required level. As a result, there were practices of manipulations and invalid subversions of marks bay raising scores without changing the phenomena and without enhancing learning and behavioral change to learners. Moreover, there were no modules designed around competencies with explicit, measurable, and transferable LOs to be assessed. Consequently, the quests and expeditions inherent within the criterion-referenced assessment guidelines were unmet - resulting in matchless upheavals. It has, therefore, been recommended that conscious efforts should be made to make alignments and /or linkages among the salient elements that enhance students’ learning with understanding.

Many students in east-Asian countries study physics in not only public schools but also remedial classes. We survey 42 school teachers and 41 remedial class teachers with the Colorado Learning Attitudes about Science Survey (CLASS). In this paper, we discuss the CLASS results from the two types of physics teachers. We also demonstrate the possible factors that attribute to the school teachers and remedial class teachers’ significant different attitudes toward problem-solving confidence.

In the Chinese high school physics curriculum, three operational procedures are introduced in electromagnetism, namely right-hand grip rule, left-hand rule, and right-hand rule. This often led to confusion for student to differentiate these rules, and thus often focus on the surface characteristics of the problem or be misled by unrelated details. This study adopts the conceptual framework representation to model student understanding, and use it to guide the design of an assessment test on operational procedures in electromagnetism. The conceptual framework maps out the key concepts and their connections within a student’s knowledge structure. In this study, an assessment tool of operational procedures in electromagnetism was developed and tested among Chinese high school students and college freshmen. Based on the testing results of the assessment, students have memory behaviors when using the right-hand grip rule, the left-hand rule and the right-hand rule, and students’ understanding of electromagnetism can be summarized into three progression levels including novice-like, intermediate-mixed, and expert-like. Therefore, in order to help students develop integrated knowledge structures and deeper understanding, the cross product is an important central idea that needs to be emphasized in instruction.

The new round of basic education curriculum reform in China recently will inevitably bring about the reform of classroom teaching. To find a method of testing the reformed classroom teaching effect so that it follows the new curriculum reform is a problem that needs to be solved urgently. On the basis of examining the evaluation concept and application of the "Reformed Classroom Teaching Observation Protocol (RTOP)" originated in the United States, we test the appropriateness of RTOP in China's classroom teaching evaluation environment from both qualitative and quantitative perspectives, with good results. By comparing the advantages and disadvantages of RTOP and China's "Toshiba Cup Scoring Table", it is found that RTOP can provide guidance for the transformation of classroom teaching evaluation concepts and the development of evaluation tools in the context of China's new curriculum reform.

Problem representation in specific domains has raised great attention in the past years. In mainland China, research of the primitive physics problem teaching has been booming in the physics education domain recently. This study proposes six representations in the process of solving problems for middle school students, including abstraction representation, assignment representation, image representation, physics representation, methodology representation and mathematics representation. The measuring instrument of primitive physics problem for junior high school students was developed according to previous research and the principle of “Objectively Evaluating Subjective Questions”. The participants were 113 grade nine students in mainland China. The results of confirmatory factor analysis confirm the effectiveness of the measuring instrument. A weak correlation between the measuring instrument of primitive physics problems and Lawson Classroom Test of Scientific Reasoning (LCTSR) was found. Therefore, we believe that the primitive physics problem solving ability is a unique ability which is different from the general reasoning ability. This study demonstrates that using the measuring instrument of primitive physics problem to measure junior high school students’ ability of problem solving is promising.

The curriculum is the carrier of teaching activities and an important measure for cultivating national scientific and technological talents. STEAM education originated from the United States, as an interdisciplinary and integrated education mode to cultivate comprehensive talents in the future, aims at improving students' scientific and humanistic literacy, and emphasizes the cultivation of students' lifelong learning awareness, problem-solving ability, scientific inquiry ability and innovation ability. Therefore, designing a STEAM Curriculum with inquiry and engineering orientation has important guiding significance for China's basic education reform. This paper takes the "Manufacturing of Hydraulic Manipulator" as the project theme, and based on the 6E learning by design model, discusses the design of STEAM physics curriculum.

A new method is proposed in (Ivković, Marković, Ivković, & Cvetanović, 2017) to measure the equivalent series resistance (ESR) and the inductance of a coil at low frequencies. However, a special phenomenon has appeared at high frequencies. It is found that the intercept has appeared and the measured inductance value had a large deviation from its nominal value. According to the analysis of result, an amended method is proposed in this paper. The inductance value should be amended according to the linear relation between the measured value and the nominal value.
