In a four stroke combustion engine, there are three piston rings, namely two compression piston rings and one lubrication control piston ring. The piston compression ring serves to maintain the combustion pressure, while the piston ring lubrication regulator functions to lubricate the combustion chamber during the energy change process so that the piston will run back and forth in the combustion chamber smoothly. Damage that occurs to the piston ring can be in the form of a broken piston ring, or a scratched or worn piston ring. These things can reduce the quality of the energy transfer process. The piston ring is broken because the ring is too brittle. Vibration that occurs in the piston when combustion occurs at full load increases the possibility of a fracture process in the piston ring. The brittleness of the piston ring is strongly influenced by the material used. To overcome this, a hard but not stiff material is needed. Keywords: Hardness, mileage, Vicker test

One of the important elements produced from the factory support units is air products. Regional water balance (integration) is important to support factory operations. Raw water is treated in the unit section to produce demin water and further process into Boiler Feed Water (BWF) to produce 80 kg/cm2 pressurized steam in the boiler unit, to meet the specifications as demin water it is necessary to carry out several treatments to remove mineral ions (cations and anions) dissolved in the air. In the mixed bed polisher, there is a resin regeneration process to eliminate saturation of the resin which can no longer bind mineral ions. Regeneration or regent is carried out after the resin pile is saturated which is characterized by an increase in product productivity conductivity with the desired product conductivity target of <0.2 μS/cm at a temperature of 25℃. The purpose of this study was to work or perform a mixed bed polisher, especially during regeneration in the demineralization unit. This research was conducted by making a framework of thought and writing work. The writing stage contains data collection, data processing and data analysis-synthesis, as well as drawing conclusions. Based on this research, the results showed that there was a decrease in the performance of the mixed bed with a bed expansion gain of 80.7% and a resin height of 2.42 m. The number of chemicals used for regeneration is 1170.7 kg consisting of HCL and NaOH so that the flow rate of demin water required to dilute the regenerant is 7,126 m3/h. There are many ways for the company to reach a good standard for their goods and services. Standard is essential to achieve a level of customer trust. The company must be maintaining the quality of their services and products, including in this case the quality of goods beside the services. To ensure its achievement, a directed management system and processes are needed to achieve the level of customer trust. Many companies use quality tools to help monitor and manage their quality system. There are several types of tools that can be used. But the more, there are seven management tools for quality control are the most common. Seven tools can be used by any professional to ease the quality improvement process like flowcharts, check sheets, Pareto diagrams, cause and effect diagrams, histograms, scatter diagrams, and control charts. Reservoir is a large building made by humans by damming a river (Wetzel, 2001). Reservoirs are also an intermediate system between rivers (lotic waters) and lakes (lentic waters). The manufacture of reservoirs generally has objectives and functions, one of which is for raw water needs from drinking water treatment. MG Reservoir is the main source of raw water for PDAM Balikpapan City. MG Reservoir is a very important aquatic resource in terms of its ecological and economic functions. Therefore it must be maintained both in terms of quantity and quality. With the existence of various human activities around MG Reservoir, it will affect the condition of the reservoir. Industry must have good quality for their services or products. One of the things that their have done is how to get the customer’s belief in their brand. Quality in every part has become the main case. Most of the companies in industry use metals as material to support their services. When the goods have been processed, it must continue with the testing. This is to prove that the goods have gone through the formation process fill in standard quality which required by the customer. There are two types of testing known as destructive testing and non-destructive testing. There are some of ways of non destructive testing methods on metals inspection has been applied in testing the quality of goods. Such as visual test, magnetic particle test, liquid penetrant, eddy current test, ultrasonic test, radiographic test in metals testing. Nondestructive testing (NDT) is the process of inspecting, testing, or evaluating materials, components or assemblies for discontinuities, or differences in characteristics without destroying the serviceability of the part or system. Radiographic Testing (RT) is a nondestructive examination technique that involves the use of either x-rays or gamma rays to view the internal structure of a component. In the petrochemical industry, Radiographic Testing is often used to inspect machinery, such as pressure vessels and valves, to detect for flaws. RT is also used to inspect weld repairs. Compared to other NDT techniques, radiography has several advantages. It is highly reproducible, can be used on a variety of materials, and the data gathered can be stored for later analysis.

Penelitian ini memperkenalkan metode pendekatan statistik untuk mengetahui parameter-parameter yang berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kinerja kompresor multistage dalam berbagai kondisi operasi yang mempengaruhi proses produksi minyak dan gas . Korelasi empiris memberikan pendekatan baru untuk mengetahui parameter kritikal dalam kompresor dan kemampuan prediksi terhadap peningkatan produksi. Metode ini telah diterapkan di kompresor multistage di salah satu Anjungan Offshore di Wilayah Kalimantan Timur. Parameter-parameter yang di analisis pada kompresor multistage ( C301 A/B, C302 A/C dan C303 A/B) antara lain Suction Pressure, Suction Temperature, Discharge Pressure, Discharge Temperature, Suction Flow, Suction Temperature, Speed NGP dan Speed NPT . Metode statistik yang digunakan antara lain Regression Analysis, Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) dan Main Effect Plot (MEP) dengan menggunakan software MINITAB. Hasil analisis menunjukkan parameter yang berpengaruh signifikan di kompresor C301 A/B adalah suction pressure dan speed, sedangkan untuk kompresor C302 A/C parameter yang berpengaruh signifikan adalah suction pressure, discharge pressure dan suction flow. Hasil berbeda ditunjukkan oleh kompresor C303 A/B dimana hanya discharge pressure yang berpengaruh signifikan. Hasil analisis ini juga mampu mengevaluasi serta memprediksi model optimum dari korelasi dan kombinasi parameter-parameter yang signifikan tersebut sehingga bisa gunakan sebagai acuan untuk melakukan optimasi setting parameter di proses produksi sehingga meningkatkan produksi dari sumur.

Silinder Hidrolik adalah sebuah aktuator yang dapat menghasilkan gaya searah melalui gerakan stroke yang searah. Alat ini menjadi salah satu bagian sistem hidrolik selain pompa dan motor hidrolik. . Dalam perbaikannya silinder hidrolik butuh ketelitian yang presisi agar hasil yang di dapat sesuai dengan spesifikasi yang yg di inginkan,kerusakan-kerusakan yang terjadi pada silinder hidrolik itu sendiri meliputi banyak faktor yang paling utama dalam penyebab kerusakannya adalah gesekan antara komponen yang terdapat di dalam silinder hidrolik itu sendiri dan faktor penyebab lainnya adalah benturan,keretakan hingga kebersihan cairan fluida yang dimasukan ke dalam silinder hidrolik itu sendiri sebagai tenaga utama dalam melakukan proses kerja pada silinder hidrolik, yang memiliki nilai toleransi yang sangat tinggi pada partikel-partikel yang dapat menyebabkan kerusakan pada komponen silinder hidrolik maupun pada pompa hidrolik.

Dalam dunia industry, khususnya perusahaan manufaktur dalam banyak kasus membutuhkan penanganan kerja yang dilakukan menggunakan alat alat berat untuk mendukung  produktivitas kinerja perusahaan. Hal ini membutuhkan perencanaan program yang bagus dalam menangani perawatan peralatan mesin mesin tersebut sehingga dapat berkjalan sesuai fungsinya. TPM atau dikenal dengan total productive maintenance atau perawatan produktif total adalah suatu system perawatan dan pemberdayaan peningkatan integritas produksi , keamanan dan system mutu melalui peralatan mesin, peralatan perlengkapan, process dan pekerja yang menambah nilai dari suatu bisnis di perusahaan. Total productive maintenance (TPM) merupakan suatu bagian dari manajemen system perusahaan dalam menjaga bagian perawatan dalam mencapai peningkatan secara berkesinambungan untuk memperoleh performansi yang baik. Dengan mengimplementasikan konsep dari TPM dengan perencanaan pada perawatan yang harus dapat dicapai dan kemampuan kerja dari mesin secara kontinu, mengoptimasi biaya perawatan , mengurangi inventori, meningkatkan kehandalan, dan kemampuan kerja dari mesin.

Sebelumnya dengan cara tradisional gula aren dimasak sebanyak 20 liter dengan menggunakan panci yang menggunakan api dari kayu yang dibakar. Sehingga dapat diperkirakan seorang petani memerlukan sekitar 30 kg kayu per hari. Pendidihan gula aren memakan waktu 4 – 5 jam (Julius,2015).Metode yang akan digunakan pada paper ini adalah menggunakan heat exchanger untuk menghasilkan air panas yang dapat mendidihkan gula aren secara lebih efisien. Fluida (brine) yang diperoleh dari separator dialirkan kedalam tube kemudian digunakan untuk mendidihkan nira sehingga menjadi larutan gula aren. Dari hasil perhitungan,nilai LMTD pada heat exchanger untuk mendidihkan nira adalah 80°C adalah 42,9°C.
