The dental biprotrusion characteristic of certain ethnic groups raises the question of treatment or of abstaining. In many situations this is accompanied by open bite in relation to the lingual volume or lingual support during pronunciation, the therapeutic solution must be considered and individualized. This article describes the orthodontic treatment of an anterior open bite of functional origin in a 23-year-old adult patient embarrassed by the cosmetic defect.

Introduction: This case report describes an orthodontic interception of a mixed dentition reverse incisor bite in a 12-year-old boy at the time of consultation. Case Report: After a careful clinical examination supported by routine radiological examinations, a skeletal class III diagnosis was made and an orthodontic interception was decided to restore the inverted incisor joint and the various orofacial functions disrupted by the malocclusion. After twenty months of interceptive treatment consisting of a joint jump and class III intermaxillary traction, we found satisfactory overhang and coverage allowing us to monitor the placement of the definitive canines with an improvement in the skin profile and smile. Conclusion: This simple gesture which made it possible to put the mandible back in a position restoring normal incisal coverage contributes to good orofacial muscle maturation closely linked to the various occlusal functions restored.

A combined endodontic-periodontal lesion is characterized by the association of endodontic and periodontal infection in the same tooth, attacking and destroying its attachment system. This complicates the therapeutic management because the simultaneous control of the two infections would be inconvenient in clinical practice. It would therefore be essential to sequence the stages of both periodontal and endodontic treatment. The general objective of this article would be to shed light on the contribution of the endodontic approach in the treatment of combined endodontic-periodontal lesions and to specifically underline its influence on the prognosis of this condition.

On March 11, 2020, the WHO declared that the epidemic of COVID-19 had become a pandemic, and this disrupted all the regulated operative programs. On the other hand and by its urgent nature, the emergency surgery was maintained with particularity in some situations, an association with infection by COVID-19. The circumstances of diagnosis of the association of infection by COVID-19 and surgical emergency are based on clinical, radiological, and biological criteria. In this work we report the experience of the University Hospital of Tangier concerning the management of three patients with the particularity of associating a covid infection and a digestive surgical emergency, we will discuss through these cases, the necessary protective measures in intraoperative and the impact of the covid infection on the morbi-mortality Concerning the impact of covid infection on postoperative morbidity and mortality, there are generally two situations: When the covid infection is benign, the prognosis depends on the severity of the surgical emergency and in this situation the prognosis is the same as for patients not infected by covid, this is the case of the first and third cases. The second situation; when the covid infection is severe, it has a great impact on the prognosis and the postoperative care in intensive care. With this publication, we are trying to provide information to help surgeons better manage this category of patients, especially in view of the panic caused by the pandemic, and the difficulty of adapting to the new patient circuit, but more studies recruiting more cases are needed to confirm our findings.

Introduction: Hemorrhagic lesions of the oral mucosa are the most common clinical manifestations of Immune thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP). Case Report: A 41-year-old female patient consulted the oral surgery department of the dental consultation and treatment center in Rabat for spontaneous gingivorrhagia. Clinical examination and further examination showed severe thrombocytopenia associated with an anemic syndrome. The diagnosis of ITP was made. Treatment was based on oral corticosteroids and immunoglobulin in the hospital. Conclusion: These manifestations sometimes lead the patient to consult his dental surgeon in the first intention, hence the need to make the diagnosis based on a thorough global examination and to refer the patient to an adapted structure.

Intussusception is the telescoping or invagination of one segment of the bowel into its adjacent portion. It is common among children however it’s rare in adults, being seen in approximately only 5% of cases. In adults, it is the underlying cause of about 5% of bowel obstructions. More than half of these intussusceptions in adults are secondary to a neoplasm. Burkitt’s lymphoma is an uncommon cause of intussusception, in adults, less than 20 cases have been reported in the literature. Double intussusceptions due to Burkitt’s lymphoma are extremely rare. We present a case of a 20-year-old woman who presented symptoms of intestinal obstruction and was diagnosed with double ileoileal intussusception at Abdominal computed tomography and laparotomy exploration. The pathology of the lead points turned out to be Burkitt’s lymphoma. This case details a rare cause of intussusception secondary to Burkitt’s lymphoma. In infants, this is often treated with air enema reduction, but in adult populations, intussusceptions are normally associated with a lead point, therefore surgical management is essential. Hereby we present to you a second reported case in the literature of adult double intussusception due to Burkitt’s lymphoma. This report contains interesting diagnostic imaging, operative details, and specimen photographs.

The direct effects of cancer and the therapeutic sequelae have a profound impact on the patients' quality of life. The resultant loss of maxillary substance is accompanied by serious functional, aesthetic, psychological and social problems. The maxillofacial obturating prosthesis remains as a therapeutic tool that improves aesthetics and restores the various functions of chewing, swallowing and phonation. A tight collaboration between the maxillo-facial surgeon and the dentist is essential to obtain an optimal prosthesis both functionally and aesthetically, thus allowing a socio-professional reintegration of the patient.

Introduction: Transitional care for older people with multiple chronic conditions is complex, and it is essential to identify the competencies of the nurses who provide such care. Aim: This study aimed to describe and compare the self-reported characteristics of transitional care nurses to their work areas, job satisfaction, competencies, and need for further training. Methods: A cross-sectional study design was used, and STROBE was followed for reporting. The total population of transitional care nurses (n=28) in Denmark was invited to participate. Data were collected through a questionnaire covering work areas, job satisfaction, competencies, and the need for further training. Results: Respondents reported high confidence in competencies related to direct clinical practice, cooperation and consultation, caregiver involvement, and use of electronic communication, and a limited need for further training. Expert transitional care nurses have high confidence in their work competencies related to patients and administrative tasks and increased job satisfaction.

Periodontal diseases are inflammatory diseases of infectious origin. Their initial treatment is based on a mechanical debridement associated with a chemical approach; through antiseptics and/or antibiotics. Currently, natural products based on essential oils are increasingly used as a new alternative chemical therapy in the treatment of periodontal diseases, due to their innumerable medicinal properties.
