This paper is a qualitative descriptive research which investigates the processes of word formation and their influence to part of speech of the data. The data source in this study is Instagram captions of Sharena Delon. The method of collecting data is by observation. The method of analyzing data is agih and padan method from Sudaryanto. The author uses the theory ofO’Grady which divides word formation process into 10 types, i.e.derivation, compounding, conversion, clipping, blends, backformation, acronym, onomatopoeia, coinage, and inflection. The research uses the theory of Carter & McCarthy to show the change of part of speech of data. The result of this research shows that based on O’Grady’s and Carter & McCarthy’s theory. There are 30 types of word formation process found in Instagram of Sharena Delon. Three types are by derivation process, 2 types by compounding process, 2 types by conversion process, 6 types by clipping process, 6 types by blends process, 2 types by backformation process, 3 types by acronym process, 3 types by onomatopoeia process, 1 type by coinage process, and two types by inflection process. Some data have change of part of speech because of word formation process and some do not.

Cooperative principles theorized by Grice (1975) explaines the way people use the language well and efficiently. There are four maxims in order to achieve connection during conversation, i.e. the maxims of quality, quantity, relation, and manner. However, people do not always follow and obey the Cooperative principle and instead flout maxim. The aim of this research was to discuss about the types of maxim which were flouted in the movie White House Down written by James Vand Erbilt. As a result, the researcher found 15 samples of flouted maxim, maxim of quantity 4 data, maxim of quality 2 data, maxim of manner 5 data, and 4 data maxim of relation.

This article aims to describe the fitness of Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) in Mathematics subject for elementary education in Indonesia. The research was a qualitative study conducted through a case study. The case study was conducted in the context of elementary education. This research discovered that CLIL needed to be conducted in consideration of the urgency of teaching Mathematics in English, the appropriate method of teaching Mathematics in English, the appropriate duration of applying CLIL, and the impacts of CLIL on learners. Through the application of CLIL in teaching Mathematics in English, Indonesian students will be accustomed to the concept of understanding word problems in English, be accustomed to the application of higher order thinking in solving math problems, have higher interest in math and English, and have a stronger foundation for a more complex math learning at a higher level.

This research aimed to analyze the types of maxims of the cooperative principle that were used in the novel entitled The Fault in Our Stars. The data source of data was a novel entitled The Fault in Our Stars that fulfilled cooperative principle based on four maxims of cooperative principles: Maxim of quantity, maxim of quality, maxim of relation, and maxim of manner. Theory that the researcher used in this research is theory of Grice. In this research, a descriptive qualitative method was applied to answer the research questions. The observational method and non-participatory technique was applied by the researcher in collecting the data. In analyzing the data the researcher used pragmatic identity method based on the theory of Sudaryanto. The results showed that the level of cooperative principle was mostly used in the novel. The researcher found 30 data related to cooperative principle. The maxims of quantity have 15 data, 3 for maxim of quality, 10 for maxim of relation and maxim of manner has only 2 data.

Bernalar direpresentasikan melalui argumen.

The current study aims to analyze the narratology and to identify the genre of Disney’s Aladdin (2019). It also discusses the relationship between narratology and the genre in the movie. The theories used in this study are narratology theory by Vladimir Propp and genre analysis by Northrop Frye with the structuralist criticism perspective. The study used the descriptive qualitative method. The findings of this study provide pieces of evidence that Disney’s Aladdin movie can be analyzed using Propp’s narratology. There are 30 of 31 functions of dramatis personae and 7 of 7 dramatis personae found in the movie. Those findings are deducted by focusing on the plot and characters in the movie. According to those findings, the genre of the movie based on Frye’s theory of myths is the mythos of spring (comedy). This is because the movie moves from the mythos of winter to summer (irony to romance). This finding is supported by the existence of the elements of conflict, disorder and confusion, and the triumph of traditional quest theory. It also supported by the existence of the category of irony, romance, and comedy (theory of modes in the movie. Hence, the researcher deduces that the narratological analysis and the genre in this study are intercorrelated and support one another.

Cooperative learning is not only about studying and sitting together, but it is more about structuring the group work. Structuring group work includes guidance of step by step to do the assignment. In the assessment process of group work, teachers tend to assess students individually, which is disassociated. To bridge the gap, representativeness assessment is introduced as a current insight. This study aimed to identify student’s perception toward cooperative group work strategies and representative assessment. In this research, data were collected through questionnaires from a population of students. The result of the study showed that the respondents showed high percentage of perception on both cooperative group work strategies and representative assessment.

This research aims to identify the types of English collocation and to investigate the structure of collocations in the Indonesian translation from English in Kurzgesagt YouTube Channel. This study used a descriptive qualitative method. The research used the theory of English collocation by McCarty and O’Dell (2008) and Indonesian collocation by Imran et al (2009) to identify English collocation types and investigate the structures of collocation in Indonesian. The research found that Adjective + Noun collocation types are mostly used to 133 of 232 and Verb + Noun to 45 or 19.40%. Focusing on structure of collocation translation equivalents in Indonesian, it was also found that Indonesian collocations 157 data or 67.7 % have the same structures and 75 data or 32.3% have different structures. 9 data or 3.9% are in the form of single words, and 1 data or 0.4% has no equivalent. After verification was made, Indonesian collocation equivalent are not always collocations: 90.5% are collocations and 9.5% are non-collocations, including single words. Based on the research finding, learners of English, translators, and future translators have to build awareness of the importance of collocation. The potential difficulties lie in the difference in translation equivalent.
