In this article, we will question stereotypes regarding musicians and the influence that they may have in the development of a professional career. In order to do this, we will try to answer three questions: Which are the prevailing stereotypes about musicians in Mexico and particularly in Guadalajara? How do these harmful stereotypes affect their career? Which strategies do musicians implement in order to face these stereotypes? Based on a sociological perspective, we have implemented a qualitative method, directly interviewing the actors involved in this process. It is inferred that, despite the presence of positive representations, negative stereotypes may strongly affect the career of musicians, causing a direct impact that, according to them, derive in a poor appreciation of the trade. The consequences may go from the family´s imposition to study a better appreciated major to the dropout of the current studies. In certain situations, it may even have a direct effect on employment conditions.

This research work develops the problem of the application of the legal framework of the right to water for its protection and reparation as well as to the environment, since this is closely related to the first mentioned right, when there is an affectation. For this, we study the case of the Santiago River, one of the most important bodies of water in Mexico and with the longest length. For this reason, when we talk about the Santiago River we will refer to the body of water located in the municipalities of Juanacatlán and Salto del State of Jalisco, which, for a long time, was contaminated by dumping various types of substances, without measures being taken to reduce said activity to date. This is done with the study of the national and international legal framework on the matter, to later develop the circumstances in which they caused the damage to the River, and like these, they encouraged the various authorities to issue resolutions trying to repair the damage. Despite the existence of such determinations, they are not sufficient for the protection of this right, so in the end we propose the creation of an environmental court that is capable of solving these types of problems.

Gris, an independent Spanish video game, explores the expressive possibilities of this creative medium through a story that is, on one hand, a symbolic representation of the psychological process of the protagonist, and, on the other hand, a foundational narrative about the loss and recovery of identity. This title employs the expressive tools of the history of art to build its aesthetic proposal; in particular, it is categorically placed in the line of surrealism as an artistic current. The analysis of this elements is realized through fundamental notions of rhetoric and poetics, referencing authors such as Helena Beristáin and Carmen Bobes, and the narrative hermeneutics of Paul Ricoeur, as well as theoretical perspectives that allow building bridges of analysis between literature and the visual arts.

This article addresses the various ways in which the figure of the mythological monster is constructed in the recent short narrative by three authors: René Avilés Fabila, Cecilia Eudave, Fernando de León. The above is based on the original representation of these creatures in ancient and medieval bestiaries, and focuses, above all, on the core change in their characterization in current texts, which leads to scenarios of decadence, deconstruction or reinvigoration of the imaginary fauna, explained this as a result of the exhaustion of magical thinking before the scientific one.

In the present work, in the light of the reading of the philosopher Santiago Castro-Gómez, we will try to elucidate his theory about the coloniality of power and the way in which such a device codified the bodies according to the discourse of blood cleansing. So, first, we will briefly develop two different types of theories about power: on the one hand, the theory of the coloniality of power, presented by the Peruvian sociologist Aníbal Quijano; on the other hand, the analytics of power, developed by Michel Foucault. Both theories, which seem incommensurable, are put into dialogue by our philosopher. In the second part of our work, we will prepare to present the practices and modus operandi corresponding to the coloniality of power to manifest its uniqueness in comparison to other types of powers. Likewise, we will show how a certain sector of the population, in an attempt to consolidate their family and personal interests, used these practices to limit corporality. Third, and by way of conclusion, we will make a brief sketch about the link between the coloniality of power and the political practices of current Colombia.

The present work aims to point out that La suave Patria (1921) by Ramón López Velarde is a poem in which not only is there an affable song to the homeland, a predominant reading since its publication, but verses of social criticism with those who extol the necessary nationalist love at a time of national restructuring, such as was the post-revolutionary period in Mexico. In this way, it is true to point out that there is a patriotic loa in the text, thanks to the recurrence of traits of loving association with respect to the place of origin, but, also, it is correct to consider the evidence in the verses of a representation of the context in conflict to which it belongs, being irony the main tool that veils this criticism and the constant contradictions that give shape to this piece from Lopez-Velarde.

The objective of this work is to introduce Quentin Meillassoux's 'speculative materialist realism', establishing a critical stance against the metaphysical tradition of the 'absolute' that has prevailed in post-Kantian Western philosophy, based on the need for contingency that he proposes. This implies making a critique of what has been understood as realism, necessity and existing. To do this, key concepts of Meillassoux's philosophy are broken down, exemplifying its influence -and possible presence back in time- on other thinkers and artists in their respective narratives such as Graham Harman, Timothy Morton, Nick Land, and Florian Hecker, who delve into issues that generate discomfort, amazement, nihilism and pessimism in contemporary societies, such as probability and prediction in financial markets, the Anthropocene and nature, the conflictive relationship between subject and object, truth and chaos, between other things, subtracting ourselves from the humanist discourse on which the scientific, financial and environmental paradigms of our time rest and which have ended up cracking the identity of man, with capitalist production being the most determining geological factor. Let us to reflect on the following questions. What narratives can give an account of the current condition of the world? What narratives emerge when we stop focusing our attention on man? What habits of thought force us to change the awareness that everything around us is contingent?

In what follows the reader will find an exposition of Benjamin's text For a Critique of Violence, the interpretation made by Derrida, Honneth, Žižek, among others, as well as Bernstein's comment on those readings. Derrida has associated the Benjamin text with the "final solution", grouping it into the forms of thought that justify or make possible acts similar to those facts. Honneth looks for an affable outlet, turning towards a proposal for a cultural revolution. Žižek associates the resentment that humans experience to explain historical events, which are examples of pure or divine violence, which are caused by love that seeks good. Bernstein will accept the reading of Derrida, which he considers a product of imagination. He appreciates Honneth's performance, he finds it enlightening. He rejects the idea of reducing guilt to the conscience of the person responsible for violent acts, who silently and autonomously judges himself for the acts committed, seems to him inadmissible; he considers that violence should be a community discussion supported by fallibilist pluralism.

The present work is an interpretation of Nostalgia de la Muerte by Xavier Villaurrutia based on some interconnected philosophical concepts from the Baroque, Idealism and Nihilism, notions that conceive the subject (lyrical ego) as locked in itself, without the possibility or the need of coming into contact with the outside. These notions threaten the integrity of the subject and support its reconstruction regardless of the outside world. The work of the mexican poet is influenced by the concepts of horror vacui (Pascal) and the monad (Leibniz); it shows affinity with the idea of the subject as an absolute and as nothing (Hegel), and with the dialectical constitution of the subject in times of nihilism (Kierkegaard).
