This study aims to analyze the ICN Kerinci Coffee Perfume agroindustry. Data collected from June 2019 to August 2019 were analyzed using the descriptive analysis to describe the business profile and quantitative analysis using the variable costing approach to explore profit and breakeven point. The results showed that the ICN Kerinci coffee perfume business is a medium-scale business with ten workers, including business owners as leaders who concurrently marketers and wives as administrative and financial staff. In fulfilling raw materials in green beans from the Robusta type, business owners collaborate with partner farmers. At the time of research, ICN Kerinci only produced one kind of product with two packaging variants, namely Kerinci original perfume for Rp.22,000/pack (45 grams) and an original variant + oil coffee (package) for Rp.35,000/pack. The study suggested expanding the market, especially to Eastern Indonesia, and increasing good cooperation with farmers to ensure the certainty of supply of raw materials; and provide prices based on sorting and grading to stimulate farmers to improve the quality of their green bean products.

Business process outsourcing (BPO) is transforming Western companies’ corporate real estate (CRE) requirements. When business processes move to a developing country there are consequences for that country’s CRE practice. This paper considers the effects of western BPO on Indian CRE. Qualitative and quantitative analysis was used to analyze data from a survey of professionals operating in Indian CRE. Location issues, quality of workspace, and the availability of human resources were identified as important in establishing BPO activities in India. Suburban, and campus or built-to-suit facilities, were increasingly preferred locations and styles of workplace that were transforming Indian CRE practice. Also, the effect of western BPO was impacting on the types of CRE services being offered. With the continuing growth in BPO to ‘secondary cities’ the transformational effects on local CRE practice are likely to spread and further transform CRE practice in India.

This article contains a quantitative analysis of the camera market and discloses the possibilities of comprehensive application of quantitative analysis and theoretical game modeling in the practice of making decisions in the field of the photo industry. It is noted that almost any phenomenon in the financial and economic sphere requires a thorough and comprehensive assessment, and the method of analyzing data in the form of dynamic series and theoretical and game models is most in demand in the conditions of actualization of risks of various nature. It is shown that the analysis of the dynamic series allows you to evaluate and predict the development of the economic situation, to form recommendations for making managerial decisions. Particular attention is paid to the construction and analysis of the basic game model of the manufacturer's choice of camera equipment for the time of launch of products to the market, taking into account projected demand. The inclusion of the risk factor in the process of quantitative analysis of the camera market helps to improve the quality of decisions made, in particular when choosing marketing strategies.

Appraising firm performance is an important aspect of the strategic management process. Unfortunately, many students in strategic management courses do not have adequate financial analysis skills to do this task. This deficiency affects their ability to learn and perform the full scope of the strategic management process. This article presents an exercise designed to address this challenge. The exercise emphasizes the central objective of strategic management, that is, the achievement of superior levels of creating and capturing value. The brief lesson and exercise enable students to use simple accounting metrics to appraise the quality of a firm’s current strategy, execution capabilities, and resulting competitive position. Primarily for undergraduate courses in which numerous students are challenged by quantitative analysis tasks, this exercise alleviates the need for instructors to invest an inordinate amount of time reteaching financial analysis.

Abstract The present study sets out to investigate an important aspect of gendered performance, namely, the presence of interactional metadiscourse in conference presentations delivered in Persian. The study pursues two primary objectives: firstly, to compare the quantity and quality of interactional metadiscourse markers as expressed by male and female academics; secondly, to investigate some other factors influencing the phenomenon under investigation. The data include twenty-four conference presentations by twelve males and twelve females. The quantitative analysis showed a statistically significant difference in the use of interactional metadiscourse by male and female presenters. However, the qualitative analysis helped the authors to identify more similarities than differences. In point of fact, such factors as academic status and nativeness had caused the speakers to use different metadiscourse strategies.

Elastography is based on the estimation of strain due to tissue compression or expansion. Conventional elastography involves computing strain as the gradient of the displacement (time-delay) estimates between gated pre- and postcompression signals. Uniform temporal stretching of the postcompression signals has been used to reduce the echo-signal decorrelation noise. However, a uniform stretch of the entire postcompression signal is not optimal in the presence of strain contrast in the tissue and could result in loss of contrast in the elastogram. This has prompted the use of local adaptive stretching techniques. Several adaptive strain estimation techniques using wavelets, local stretching and iterative strain estimation have been proposed. Yet, a quantitative analysis of the improvement in quality of the strain estimates over conventional strain estimation techniques has not been reported. We propose a two-stage adaptive strain estimation technique and perform a quantitative comparison with the conventional strain estimation techniques in elastography. In this technique, initial displacement and strain estimates using global stretching are computed, filtered and then used to locally shift and stretch the postcompression signal. This is followed by a correlation of the shifted and stretched postcompression signal with the precompression signal to estimate the local displacements and hence the local strains. As proof of principle, this adaptive stretching technique was tested using simulated and experimental data.
