Visual teaching is a teaching method or teaching tool that presents a clearer and more intuitive image of music works to students. Drawing on the theory of brainstorming, this paper explores the application of brainstorming, a brain stimulation method, in visual teaching of music. The main results are as follows: visual music teaching mainly improves music skills, cultivates music aesthetics, and enhances communicative competence. Once introduced to music class, the creative thinking method of brainstorming enables the teacher to train the divergent and creative thinking of students. During music teaching, brainstorming stimulates the learning interest, boosts the learning confidence, and cultivates the independent thinking of students. The research findings lay a theoretical basis for music course reform.

The purpose of this research is to measure the effectiveness of constructivist learning approach in structural study specifically for architecture students. Theoretically, improving student’s performance in mathematics is challenging for today education. In architectural education, structural study is part of the non- design courses in the syllabus under the area of technology and environment and it involve in mathematical calculations. In the context of typical classrooms that adopt conventional teaching method, students are usually taught using structured rules based on the given academic syllabus. However, teaching architecture students need a different approach. This is because architecture students learn by understanding the application into practice rather than by only solving the principleproblem. Purposive sampling which is the Torrance Test of Creative Thinking (TTCT) was selected as the method of the study and teaching experiment was conducted. In the experimental structural design, 26 groups of architecture students were tested based on two situations; pre-test (original) and post-test (change), and tests are conducted according to the stages and times set for each topic. The experiment was designed based on the Constructivist learning approach as foundation of the experiment to study the mathematical creativity of the students. The findings show that there are positive impacts on creativity in the subject of structural study which beneficially affects their understanding and application abilities. Further research needs to done to ensure this beneficial outcome can be greatly support students’ long-term retention of knowledge and skills. This chapter presents a review of important concepts for assessing creative work as noted in both the general literature and work in music teaching and learning. Definitions are established for terms such as “creativity,” “creative potential,” “naïve versus expert,” “person, product, process and place,” and “convergent versus divergent thinking”, and “creative achievement.” A case is made for the distinction between these and other key terms in the literature. The notions of levels of creative work is sstressed. Past research studies in the assessment of creative potential are reviewed including a summary of all published work using the Measures of Creative Thinking in Music (MTCM). Related work in psychology and directions for future study are noted.

Orff music teaching method is one of the most famous and widely used music education systems in the world, named after Karl Orff, a famous German musician. It endows the music education with humanity and fraternity under the perspective of anthropology, which has a profound impact on music education in primary and secondary schools all over the world. During the process of Chinese folk music teaching in primary and secondary schools, we should draw on the advantages of Orff's music teaching philosophy and promote the national characteristics of Chinese music teaching.

Abstract This research was prepared in order to determine the change in students’ academic achievement, retention levels and attitudes, and problem solving skill and creative thinking skill as a result of programming teaching with authentic task-based applications. The research was prepared using an experimental design with pretest-posttest control group. In the study group of the research, 2nd year Computer Technologies Department students who studied at Erciyes University in the 2017–2018 academic year and took the Web Design Fundamentals course and the Research Methods and Techniques course are included. One of the second-year branches was determined as experimental group (n = 30) and the other one was determined as the control group (n = 33). The teaching of programming to the experimental group students was carried out with authentic tasks. Lessons were conducted with the control group students using the traditional teaching method. Achievement test developed by the researchers as pre-test, post-test, retention test, as well as Attitude Scale Toward Computer Programming developed by Baser (2013), Problem Solving Inventory developed by Heppner and Peterson (1982) and adapted to Turkish by Sahin, Sahin and Heppner (1993), “How Creative Are You?” scale developed by Raudsepp (1977) and adapted to Turkish by Coban (1999) were used. With research, it was concluded that authentic task-oriented practices increased students’ programming academic success and attitudes towards programming, and also positively affected both students’ problem-solving skills and creative thinking skills.

In view of the existing problems in traditional experiment teaching of mechanical engineering curriculums of high school, the method of virtual experiment teaching is proposed in this paper, which aims at developing students creative thinking and enhancing their innovation ability. According to the two aspects of the teaching method and its realization, the various experiments are designed based on virtual design and computer simulation. The results show the proposed virtual experiment teaching method improves students' creative thinking, stimulates students' enthusiasm and creativity, enhances students' overall understanding on mechanical system, and has received good learning effect.
