Abstract Fashion media is an essential part of the fashion industry in communicating cultural fashion, current trends and innovations. However, there are many differences due to cultural values, history and media access. A content analysis of Vogue magazine, Russia, India, Brazil and Arabia is designed to identify differences in content between regional Vogue Instagram accounts. Images were screenshot from each account and then organized into themes resulting in four main categories for all accounts: one, how the Vogue woman was dressed, two, the personality/lifestyle of the Vogue woman, three, the structure of the photo and finally commonalities between the accounts. The researcher found many differences and a few overlaps in values in these five Vogue accounts. Different regional areas maintain distinctions even though fashion is globally communicated.

Increasingly, advertising examples are being analyzed and used as yet another form of communication, on account of their ubiquity (e.g. billboards, Internet, television, magazines). Designed to compel us to purchase products, advertisements have the potential to greatly impact our lives. They show current trends in social preferences, they reveal cultural values and norms of the target audience and, finally, they can be the mirror of the times people live in. The purpose of this paper is to give a brief overview of the findings in previously carried–out research relating to cross–cultural content analysis of advertisements. The reports have addressed both linguistic and extra–linguistic features and trends in advertising and emphasized language– and culture–specific elements. This paper also gives ideas for future studies, since nowadays, due to international marketing and increasing globalization there are more cultural transfers to be explored, as cultures are coming in contact far more frequently.

The paper provides a brief review of current trends in studying ultra-right radicalization risks both in Russia and globally. Since the scientific interpretations in studying the notion of radicalization are differentiated, the authors prefer the following one: the ultra-rightists represent communities and movements that accept the idea that violence is necessary to achieve any goal (political, ideological, economic, social or personal). The ultra-rightists justify and promote this idea, expressing their willingness to act violently. They also make a moral commitment to defend those who promote the idea. The authors present the results of the work of the TPU’s cross-subject project team to create a prototype and a method for automated detection of ultra-rightists’ threats in social media. The paper describes the main challenges the researches face when applying smart social media content analysis as a tool for automating social science research.

The publications of the Ukrainian quality national socio-political newspapers “The Day” and “Dzerkalo Tyzhnya” for the period from 2013 till 2018 are analyzed. The main trends and peculiarities of the coverage of the European Integration Processes in Ukraine are outlined, their thematic areas and methods of the audience attention-focusing techniques are presented in the chronological order. Focusing on the specificity of the reader’s preferences in the analyzed newspapers, considering the peculiarities of the presentation of the material, the author’s preferences, the nuances of the editorial policy of each media, the monitoring of publications has been conducted over the five-year period, being based on the methods of the comparative and quantitative content analysis, which allowed for identification of certain trends and principles of the presentation of topics related to the European Integration processes of Ukraine. Thus, the change in the approaches to information and analytical support of the European Integration Processes depends on the socio-political situation. The fact that the content of the chosen quality media has been selected for the research is indicative hereof. The change in rhetoric, excessive emphasis on certain nuances, the selection of individual facts – all of these print and broadcasting media methods are permanent. The quality resources should avoid the application of such approaches. On the contrary, this study focuses on the significant drawbacks of the current media practice. The obtained results show that there is a further need in deep analysis of the current trends and situation, related to the information and analytical support of the European integration processes in Ukraine and the necessity for further search of the optimal approaches towards this thematic area.

The interaction between education and technology affects the developments occurring in two areas and the developments in education increase the speed of technological developments. Educational technology is the functionalisation of the scientific knowledge produced in educational sciences and its application in practice. In this research, the content analysis of the studies conducted in Turkey and abroad in the last 5 years, in order to determine the current trends in educational technology researches, is presented. Within the scope of the purposive sample, the studies published in 2015–2020 in the field of educational technology researches, included in the databases and journals, were examined and interpretations were made. A total of 15 research criteria were determined within the context of content analysis. These criteria are index, country, university, department, year of publication, number of authors, research area, method, educational level, sample group, sample number, data collection method, number of bibliography, analysis techniques and research trends. SPSS 24 program was used in the analysis of the data and the obtained data are presented in the related tables. The data were interpreted based on percentage and frequency. After making general explanations below the tables, the similarities and differences seen in the studies were analysed in detail by using the meta-analysis method. As a result, it was revealed that the most emphasised issue within the scope of the research area was the adequacy of using educational technologies. The purpose of this article is to characterize the current trends in public administration research in European countries. Methodologically, the article is based on the content analysis of the leading journals in the field of research of the theory and practice of public administration in European countries. The journals, which form the basis for the analysis of the subject area of the European science of public administration, are a theoretical and methodological platform in the field of public administration, which serves as a unifying framework for scientists and practitioners interested in the public sector and public sector management. Analysis of current trends and research provides a factual basis for decision-making, presents an accessible format, and encourages discussion. Journals on public administration in European countries are an institutional whole, not the least role in the stable significance of which is played by the «hypothesis — method» bundle, which does not allow writing and further publishing articles of a proveless nature. A total of 410 articles from six top journals (1–39 place (Q1) Scimago Journal & Country Rank) for 2017–2020 were analyzed. The analysis of articles shows that most of the journals are aimed at publishing articles of an analytical, methodological, and theoretical nature on five main topics: theoretical and methodological approaches to the study of public policy and public administration; national public political events and processes; the European Union as an actor in regional and international affairs; institutions, politics, and political processes in the European Union and other countries of the world; state policy of interaction between the European Union and other states, as well as comparative studies related to multidimensional issues of public administration. The practical result of the article is the formation of a pool of hypotheses for the study of public administration in conjunction with specific methods that allow these hypotheses to be tested. The reviewed articles reflect a steady interest among scientists and practitioners in understanding projects, the effectiveness of public policy instruments, and the organizational level factors that make it possible to implement them. They reveal how public policy embodies broader trends in society in terms of new regulatory approaches, initiatives, and mechanisms.

This chapter assesses the usage of e-resources in higher learning institutions in Tanzania. It identifies how electronic resources are acquired, determines the factors influencing the usage of e-resources, and assesses how e-resources are managed and disseminated. The chapter also investigates the efficiency of the Consortium of Tanzania University and Research Libraries in enhancing accessibility and usage of e-resources. The study employed a survey in data collection where face-to-face interviews and online surveys were used. Collected data was analysed through content analysis. The study found that all higher learning institutions in Tanzania had Internet connectivity, thus providing an opportunity for usage of online and offline resources. It was found that the usage of e-resources was influenced by users’ attitudes, preference and searching skills, funds for e-resources subscription, Internet connectivity, and electric power. It is recommended for higher learning institutions to invest in ICTs infrastructure and support the current trends of subscription and usage of e-resources.

Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to use content analysis to review the extensive supply chain literature to summarize its past and current trends, and uncover existing gaps and opportunities for future global supply chain research. Design/methodology/approach – Since the study uses content analysis, several dimensions of the literature were analyzed: research purpose, year of publication, journal name, methodology, theory building or verification, country of study, sample industry, global or non-global issues, and article classification. Findings – From a methodological point, the literature mostly consists of empirical and descriptive studies with few exploratory articles. The review shows that global supply chains area relatively “immature” or “new phenomenon” research topic that is gaining interest from practitioners and academics. Research limitations/implications – It is hoped that by critically examining the extant literature, the authors can clearly identify the challenges and state of global supply chain research to provide supply chain researchers with a precise summary of the literature and directions for future studies. Practical implications – This study also allows managers to recognize the methodologies and tools that can be used to enhance their supply chains. It is believed that various strategies could be adopted to create a robust global supply chain. In this respect, different industry sectors may require different global strategies and different global practices. Originality/value – The findings show that there is a shortage of empirical studies on global supply chain strategies and outcomes, and most research focusses on supply chain practices and customer or supplier relationships.
