The malicious APK (Android Application Package) makers use some techniques such as code obfuscation and code encryption to avoid existing detection methods, which poses new challenges for accurate virus detection and makes it more and more difficult to detect the malicious code. A report indicates that a new malicious app for Android is created every 10 seconds. To combat this serious malware activity, a scalable malware detection approach is needed, which can effectively and efficiently identify the malware apps. Common static detection methods often rely on Hash matching and analysis of viruses, which cannot quickly detect new malicious Android applications and their variants. In this paper, a malicious Android application detection method is proposed, which is implemented by the deep network fusion model. The hybrid model only needs to use the sample training model to achieve high accuracy in the identification of the malicious applications, which is more suitable for the detection of the new malicious Android applications than the existing methods. This method extracts the static features in the core code of the Android application by decompiling APK files, then performs code vectorization processing, and uses the deep learning network for classification and discrimination. Our experiments with a data set containing 10,170 apps show that the decisions from the hybrid model can increase the malware detection rate significantly on a real device, which verifies the superiority of this method in the detection of malicious codes.

Almost every Android user application has some kind of user interface. Android programmers who create Xamarin.Forms applications and who uses the Microsoft Visual Studio development environment to do so can create user interfaces in the XAML (the Extensible Application Markup Language) or in the C# programming language. This paper deals with a comparison of creating this user interface by the first and the second way. We demonstrate the differences in the creation of Android application user interfaces in XAML and in C# by way of using two of our Android applications which were created by the Microsoft Visual Studio 2019 Enterprise, which work as text editors with the ability to store text to disc, and have user interfaces that are visually identical. However, the user interface of the first Android application was created in XAML with a C# support code, whereas the user interface of the second Android application was created entirely in C#. While comparing the source codes of the user interfaces of both these Android applications, we identify the advantages and disadvantages of both approaches to creating a user interface and we try to find out which of these approaches is better for maintaining and modifying user interfaces. In this study, we also contrast the processes of handling events of controls of a user interface created in the XAML code for the first Android application as well as that of the same user interface created in the C# code for the second Android application. Furthermore, we were interested in determining whether the different ways of creating user interfaces affected the execution time of basic operations that included disc files that were performed on the same data by both the applications. We assume that it does not fundamentally affect the execution time, and so, we performed an experiment to confirm or refute our assumption.

The most serious threats to the current mobile internet are Android Malware. In this paper, we proposed a static analysis model that does not need to understand the source code of the android applications. The main idea is as most of the malware variants are created using automatic tools. Also, there are special fingerprint features for each malware family. According to decompiling the android APK, we mapped the Opcodes, sensitive API packages, and high-level risky API functions into three channels of an RGB image respectively. Then we used the deep learning technique convolutional neural network to identify Android application as benign or as malware. Finally, the proposed model succeeds to detect the entire 200 android applications (100 benign applications and 100 malware applications) with an accuracy of over 99% as shown in experimental results.

With the wide variety of applications offered by Android, this system has been able to dominate the smartphone market. These applications provide all kinds of features and services that have become highly requested and welcomed by users. Besides, these applications represent risky vehicles for malware on Android devices. In this paper, we propose a novel formal technique to enforce the security of Android applications. We start off with an untrusted Android application and a security policy, and we end up in a new version of the application that behaves according to the policy. To ensure the correctness of results, we use formal methods in each step of the process, either in the system and the security policy specification or in the enforcement technique itself. The target application is reverse-engineered to its assembly-like code, Smali. An executable semantics called k-Smali was defined for this code using a language definitional framework, called k Framework. Security policies are specified in LTL-logic. The enforcement step consists of integrating the LTL formula in the k-Smali program using rewriting. It aims to rewrite the system specification automatically so that it satisfies the requested formula.
