Allergy and complications caused by jewelry are prevalent among overseas college students, while there has no relevant study in China. To survey the prevalence of this problem among college students, questionnaire was designed and students randomly from three higher vocational colleges in south China joined this survey. The results show that 32.3% students have ever worn jewelry. The proportion of wearing jewelry is different for various specialties, which shows business students rank the highest, Arts and science &engineering students follow successively, while medical students keep in the last. Necklace, ring and bracelet are the main jewelry types worn by students. 1.3% boys and 10.2% girls have ever worn piercing jewelry, and ear is the dominant piercing site, which accounts for 93.1% overall. Among those students who have ever worn metal jewelry, 3.6% boys and 13.7% girls have ever suffered jewelry allergy or complications, which is mainly caused by costume jewelry and piercing jewelry.


Teaching profession is often seen as a non-rewarding career due to high burden duties that the teachers have to endure. Consequently, many teachers lose interest in teaching, which resulted in a lack of job satisfaction. However, this profession has been chosen due to intrinsic, extrinsic and altruistic motivation. In view of this, there are some factors that are not explored in depth in a teaching career at Vocational Colleges. Therefore, this paper intends to develop an instrument on the factors influencing career choice model among Malaysian Vocational College teachers. Using the five experts’ consensus through the online questionnaires, Fleiss Kappa (K) is then used to evaluate the level of agreement between the raters. The development of the constructs are based on 114 literature review articles. There are six major key factors found: family influence, socio-cultural influence, individual, situational and spiritual. There are 130 items developed and the overall finding K value is 0.55. Nevertheless, the K value within six major key factors is 0.4 to 0.86. The expert panels agree that this questionnaire might be acceptable with some improvement based on their additional comments in the online form. Based on this validation process, this questionnaire can be used in selecting quality of Malaysian Vocational College teachers or TVET instructors. For the next step, this questionnaire will be conducted on 52 excellent teachers at Malaysian Vocational Colleges to understand in depth the key factors that significantly influence the decision of an individual to enter the vocational teaching profession in Malaysian Vocational Colleges. In future, the findings on this research will expose rich sources on the field of teaching and will be helpful to identify some high-quality TVET teachers in Malaysian Vocational College.

To better meet the needs of economic restructuring and industrial development in China, educators in vocational colleges have to find new approaches to narrow the gaps between the updated requirements from the employers for business English majors and the vocational college education reality. Under this circumstance, a tentative study was carried out with the aids of multimedia to help the educators remove obstacles blocking achieving their educational aim, which is cultivating the graduates who are qualified for the social requirement. This study mainly discussed how effective the multimedia networks can help the business English majors in vocational colleges to enrich their work experience and enhance their practical English ability, computer skills, communication skills, and cooperation skills comprehensively. It aimed at exploring the ways of helping the business English majors in vocational colleges to gain work experience and improve their practical English skills, computer skills, communication skills, and cooperation skills with the aid of multimedia networks. An experimental teaching program was designed under the guidelines of a task-based teaching approach and constructive learning theory. The program includes four teaching models, which are in-class learning and field preparation, mock practice, in-field learning and field education, and learning reflection. All learning and field practices are delivered online facilitated by multimedia networks. One hundred and forty sophomores majoring in business English are selected as participants of the program. Data of students’ confidence in all five monitored essential abilities are collected before and after the learning procedure through questionnaires, and students’ feedbacks are collected through interviews. The statistical results show that multimedia networks can help students improve their overall competence, especially in gaining work experience and practical English skills. Moreover, adopting multimedia networks in teaching can provide more internship opportunities, enrich teaching scenarios, and prolong net teaching hours, which forms a preferred learning environment and provides better learning outcomes. It could also be used to assist communication and cooperation trainings.

For vocational colleges, talent is the key to their development and efficient human resource administration is the power to move the college forward. As a vocational college, how to administrate its staff according to its own characteristics has always been the emphasis of the college. In vocational colleges, human resources can be comparatively complicated and there is great fluency in their staff and there is a great variety of the period of teaching and rewards among all the staff. To the human resources department, some traditional file administration system cannot satisfy the current vocational college human resources information administration. It is very important to use modern information technologies to build a scientific and efficient human resources management system for vocational colleges. In this paper, we present the design and implementation of the management system combining with advanced database technology.
