In the educational sector, an evaluation index is required to draw up planning. The establishment of an evaluation index is useful to properly predict the employment quality of graduates. Such valuable indices help educational administrative departments to formulate talent training standards. Multicriteria decision making is a decision-making tool that can be used in the formulation of the evaluation index. This research work proposes an effective evaluation model to assess the employment quality of graduate students. The model uses 10 evaluation indicators which are considered to be the standard employment quality. The proposed evaluation method utilizes the entropy method and fuzzy comprehensive evaluation. Correlation between the employment quality evaluation index and employment quality is computed. The analytic hierarchy model is used to solve the weight of each employment quality evaluation index to the employment quality evaluation coefficient. According to the value characteristics of the 14 employment indicators, the expert method is used to assign scores to the sample data on each indicator. Thus, the indicator scores of the sample corresponding to the item are obtained. Through the evaluation of the employment quality of a certain university, the evaluation results are consistent with the actual employment quality of graduates. The employment quality evaluation model of college graduates established in this paper provides effective means and applications.

This study examined a proposed model of employment quality among female immigrants after their participation in vocational training in Taiwan, drawing on the developmental-contextual model of career development. It simultaneously tested the relationship between the distal contextual variable (i.e., perceived Taiwanese attitudes toward immigrant women (PTAs)), proximal contextual variables (i.e., vocational training experiences (VTEs) and social support (SS)), the individual-level variable (i.e., self-perceived employability (SPE)), and employment quality (EQ) in the model. A questionnaire survey was conducted among 447 female immigrant trainees who had worked for over 6 months after vocational training in Taiwan. The results supported the proposed model based on the developmental-contextual approach, which explained 56.9% of the variance in EQ. The results further revealed that PTAs positively affected SPE, VTEs and SS. In turn, VTEs and SS positively directly and indirectly affected EQ through their impacts on SPE, and SPE positively influenced EQ. The three most important factors that determined the EQ of immigrant women who participated in vocational training were VTEs, SPE, and PTAs. Keywords: career development, employment quality, immigrant women, vocational training

Based on the theories of social network, social support, and retirement process, this study analyzes the source and composition of social support for Chinese athletes on the basis of constructing the social support network. Subsequently, we analyze the impact of social support on employment quality of Chinese athletes from different dimensions and further explore the mechanism of social support on the employment quality of athletes from the moderating role of athletes’ self-employment cognition. The study found that the social support network of athletes showed a clear tendency toward “strong ties,” and the social support they received mainly came from family members, teammates, and sports team managers. These kinds of social support will directly promote the employment quality of athletes after retirement. When athletes have full knowledge of their future employment status, the effect of social support in promoting employment quality will be further expanded.

This study utilizes a non-equivalent groups research design to compare the educational experiences and outcomes of two student groups – those who did and those who did not receive a needs-based scholarship to attend secondary school and college in the Dowa, Kasungu, and Lilongwe Districts of Malawi. We assess impacts across a range of short and medium-term outcomes, including: school attendance, withdrawal, attainment, graduation, employment status, employment quality, and post-schooling income. The scholarship substantially reduces the household cost of participation in school, and reduces the distance travelled to school. As a result, we find that scholarship recipients attain between 1 and 1.5 years of additional school and graduate at higher rates. In terms of post-schooling outcomes, we find that recipients are in higher wage-earning occupations after leaving school. Overall, results suggest that scholarships are an effective demand-side strategy for improving schooling attainment, progression, and potentially longer-term labor market outcomes.
