The study addresses the use of the Semantic Web and Linked Data principles proposed by the World Wide Web Consortium for the development of Web application for semantic management of scanned documents. The main goal is to record scanned documents describing them in a way the machine is able to understand and process them, filtering content and assisting us in searching for such documents when a decision-making process is in course. To this end, machine-understandable metadata, created through the use of reference Linked Data ontologies, are associated to documents, creating a knowledge base. To further enrich the process, (semi)automatic mashup of these metadata with data from the new Web of Linked Data is carried out, considerably increasing the scope of the knowledge base and enabling to extract new data related to the content of stored documents from the Web and combine them, without the user making any effort or perceiving the complexity of the whole process.

Tourism is one of the activities carried out by humans that has a purpose as entertainment. Human who travel are referred to as tourist. West Sumatra Province is one of the regions with the best tourism is sea tourism and land tourism. Marine tourism consists of beach tourism, island tourism and lake tourism, while mainland tourism consists of tourist panorama, mountain tours, hill tours and others. However, only a portion of West Sumatra's tourist attractions are known to tourists, because of this information is obtained so that there are still many tourist attractions in West Sumatra unknown to tourists from outside the West Sumatra region. To overcome this problem, a system is needed that can be used to support the electoral decision-making process in West Sumatra. This system is built on the Web, using the PHP programming language and Laravel Framework and MySQL as a Database. The method used in this system is the Elimination of Et Choix Traduisant la Realite (ELECTRE). The use of Elimination Et Choix Traduisant la REalite (ELECTRE) can help provide information in West Sumatra, which is in accordance with the wishes of tourists according to the specified criteria. With the help of this system, the information obtained will make it easier for tourists to find tourist attractions.

In recent years, the increase of average waiting times in waiting lists is an issue that has been felt in health institutions. Thus, the implementation of new administrative measures to improve the management of these organizations may be required. Hereupon, the aim of this present work is to support the decision-making process in appointments and surgeries waiting lists in a hospital located in the north of Portugal, through a pervasive Business Intelligence platform that can be accessed anywhere and anytime by any device connected within the hospital's private network. By representing information that facilitate the analysis of information and knowledge extraction, the Web tool allows the identification in real-time of average waiting times outside the outlined patterns. Thereby, the developed platform permits their identification, enabling their further understanding in order to take the necessary measures. Thus, the main purpose is to enable the reduction of average waiting times through the analysis of information in order to, subsequently, ensure the satisfaction of patients.

The increase in Multi criteria decision-making studies is reflecting its importance as an interested area for research. Even though a high number of revealed studies mainly in last decade, still this field have challenges that require attentions from researchers in future. Most of MCDM related studies did not consider determining DM weights or using subjective methods, and there is an absence of implementing sensitivity analysis to DM weights as well. In addition to the need to develop new methods that utilizing the web or mobile technologies to deal with complexity and uncertainty adhered to MCDM problems. This paper represents a trial to list current challenges in this field as areas of interest for researchers in future studies that aims to enhance the quality and effectiveness of decision-making process.

Given the wide latitude that the U.S. president has in security policy, successive chief executives have created different structures and systems to develop and implement their foreign and defense agendas. One result has been dramatic differences in how information and options reach the president as each chief executive seeks to construct and maintain an advisory system that reflects his or her personal style and preferences. Among the various approaches, multiple advocacy has emerged as the most effective and efficient decision-making process to ensure that presidents consider a full range of security options and steer a more prudent course according to the advisory system.

The purpose of this article is to outline a decision-making process and highlight which portions of the augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) evaluation process deserve special attention when deciding which features are required for a communication system in order to provide optimal benefit for the user. The clinician then will be able to use a feature-match approach as part of the decision-making process to determine whether mobile technology or a dedicated device is the best choice for communication. The term mobile technology will be used to describe off-the-shelf, commercially available, tablet-style devices like an iPhone®, iPod Touch®, iPad®, and Android® or Windows® tablet.
