Any technology that is developed and used will have certain components or constituting mechanisms such as materials used, procedure, or technological process involved. The quality of life on planet with respect to environment such as fresh air to breathe, clean water for drinking, and other purposes are essential for all forms of life on earth. Therefore, whatever developments are undertaken should not degrade our environment. It is essential to bear in mind that whatever development, be it construction, new power plants, transportation modes, etc., should be carefully weighed in terms of its contribution to the environment, especially if there are any negative aspects that emerge from use of machinery, equipment, technologies, etc. We should analyze any technology that we use in terms of its cost-benefit study. Here in this chapter, the authors have discussed environmentally friendly technologies for our sustainability to use the natural resources wisely with some case studies of natural as well as manmade disasters.

While the majority of scientists agree that artificial intelligence (AI) technology have provided excellent platforms for inventing tools beneficial for enhancing man's quality of life on earth, there are a host of others who have identified existential and ontological hazards associated with the proliferation of super-intelligent machines (SIM), now utilized for virtually every human endeavor. The Marxian alienation theory was adopted for the study while Creswell's qualitative and Marilyn's ex-post facto research design approaches were adopted as viable methodologies for the study. Justifiable grounds by which existentialist scholars continue to promote the ‘extinction risk threat' and the impending job annihilation theory were identified. Scientists and existentialist scholars are therefore enjoined to urgently identify pathways for aligning the goals of SIM with those of mankind.

The quality of life on earth is directly linked to the overall quality of the environment. The natural ecosystem encompasses all living and non-living things existing on earth naturally. It is an environment that interacts with all living species, but which may be contaminated with diesel a derivative of hydrocarbons. Diesel spills contaminate both aquatic and terrestrial environments. To prevent the environmental and health risks of this, remediation needs to be advanced. Bioremediation, degradation by microbes, is one of the suitable methods for cleaning diesel contamination. In the present work, the biodegradation of diesel oil contaminated soil has been investigated comparatively with Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Pseudomonas fluorescence coupled with fertilizer as essential nutrients. Based on observations carried out in 18 days, Pseudomonas aeruginosa alone as well as in the presence of essential inorganic nutrients was found to exhibit higher remediation potential in degrading soil contaminated with diesel oil than Pseudomonas fluorescence.

Nice to recede a thesis, transformed into a project and then finally into a great and beautiful research. also the "American magazine Biomedical Science & Research" publishes an article of mine which is then only an abstract of a work done during my university training where through physical exercise, applied physiology and rehabilitation in particular environments such as microgravity, we can find new methods to improve the quality of life on earth, for example for all those people who suffer from osteoporosis and arthrosis but not only. Exercise is medicine and when administered appropriately it helps to improve people's quality of life. Core, endurance, strength, neuroscience, the secrets for good longevity: heart health, brain health, muscle and joint health. Neuroscience and lagree method, besides fitness and wellness, neuro complex training. Happy to be part of this family and also to be its ambassador and researcher. also used by astronauts returning to earth.

The human impact on life on Earth has increased sharply since the 1970s, driven by the demands of a growing population with rising average per capita income. Nature is currently supplying more materials than ever before, but this has come at the high cost of unprecedented global declines in the extent and integrity of ecosystems, distinctness of local ecological communities, abundance and number of wild species, and the number of local domesticated varieties. Such changes reduce vital benefits that people receive from nature and threaten the quality of life of future generations. Both the benefits of an expanding economy and the costs of reducing nature’s benefits are unequally distributed. The fabric of life on which we all depend—nature and its contributions to people—is unravelling rapidly. Despite the severity of the threats and lack of enough progress in tackling them to date, opportunities exist to change future trajectories through transformative action. Such action must begin immediately, however, and address the root economic, social, and technological causes of nature’s deterioration.

Abstract The current economy transcends the boundaries of sustainability, threatens the quality of life on Earth and, ultimately, of the man himself, which requires its restructuring to a sustainable one. The unsustainability of the development of society, which causes the development of the economy in a global environment, is revealed by theoretical research based on qualitative analysis of texts and documents. Subsequently, the need to change the paradigmatic basis of economic theory is explained and a new model of economy – sustainable economy – is outlined. Using logical methods and comparison of basic axioms, postulates and based on the prediction of further development, the study emphasizes that moving towards a more sustainable future presupposes the replacement of neoclassical paradigm by a new paradigm – the paradigm of sustainable development. Restructuring the economy into a sustainable one will be based on this paradigm, as confirmed by some of the outlined new economic theories and initiatives.

Purpose The purpose of this study was to identify levels of self-compassion in adults who do and do not stutter and to determine whether self-compassion predicts the impact of stuttering on quality of life in adults who stutter. Method Participants included 140 adults who do and do not stutter matched for age and gender. All participants completed the Self-Compassion Scale. Adults who stutter also completed the Overall Assessment of the Speaker's Experience of Stuttering. Data were analyzed for self-compassion differences between and within adults who do and do not stutter and to predict self-compassion on quality of life in adults who stutter. Results Adults who do and do not stutter exhibited no significant differences in total self-compassion, regardless of participant gender. A simple linear regression of the total self-compassion score and total Overall Assessment of the Speaker's Experience of Stuttering score showed a significant, negative linear relationship of self-compassion predicting the impact of stuttering on quality of life. Conclusions Data suggest that higher levels of self-kindness, mindfulness, and social connectedness (i.e., self-compassion) are related to reduced negative reactions to stuttering, an increased participation in daily communication situations, and an improved overall quality of life. Future research should replicate current findings and identify moderators of the self-compassion–quality of life relationship.

Purpose Misophonia is a sound tolerance disorder condition in certain sounds that trigger intense emotional or physiological responses. While some persons may experience misophonia, a few patients suffer from misophonia. However, there is a dearth of literature on audiological assessment and management of persons with misophonia. The purpose of this report is to discuss the assessment of misophonia and highlight the management option that helped a patient with misophonia. Method A case study of a 26-year-old woman with the complaint of decreased tolerance to specific sounds affecting quality of life is reported. Audiological assessment differentiated misophonia from hyperacusis. Management included retraining counseling as well as desensitization and habituation therapy based on the principles described by P. J. Jastreboff and Jastreboff (2014). A misophonia questionnaire was administered at regular intervals to monitor the effectiveness of therapy. Results A detailed case history and audiological evaluations including pure-tone audiogram and Johnson Hyperacusis Index revealed the presence of misophonia. The patient benefitted from intervention, and the scores of the misophonia questionnaire indicated a decrease in the severity of the problem. Conclusions It is important to differentially diagnose misophonia and hyperacusis in persons with sound tolerance disorders. Retraining counseling as well as desensitization and habituation therapy can help patients who suffer from misophonia.
