Abstract By analyzing 4.48 × 108ψ(3686) events collected with the BESIII detector, we observe the decays χcJ → $$ {nK}_S^0\overline{\Lambda} $$ nK S 0 Λ ¯ + c.c. (J = 0, 1, 2) for the first time, via the radiative transition ψ(3686) → γχcJ. The branching fractions are determined to be (6.65 ± 0.26stat ± 0.41syst) × 10−4, (1.66 ± 0.12stat ± 0.12syst) × 10−4, and (3.58 ± 0.16stat ± 0.23syst) × 10−4 for J = 0, 1, and 2, respectively.

The technique described in part I has been used to obtain constants of interest in molecular spectroscopy. The vibration-rotation interaction factor, F for HCl has been evaluated from the infra-red emission spectrum. The critical parameter in F is θ = M 0 / M 1 r e , where M 0 and M 1 are the first two coefficients in the electric dipole moment expansion about the equilibrium internuclear distance r e . A value of θ = + 1.12 ± 0.18 has been obtained. It is shown that for molecules with θ = +1 the total band intensity in emission is independent of the rotational distribution in the vibrational state from which the emission occurs. This has been made use of in evaluating radiative transition probabilities. For the HCl v (3-1) transition a value for | R 3 1 | 2 (= 1.60 x 10 -4 debye 2 ) was obtained for the first time. The same method yields a value of | R 2 1 | 2 / | R 2 0 | 2 = 204, in good agreement with an earlier estimate from absorption data.

We have investigated the correlation, relativistic, and isotope shift effects on the fine structure levels in the ground state configuration for the antimony anion ( Sb-). Energies and radiative transition probabilities (for magnetic dipole, M1, and electric quadrupole, E2) have been obtained using the multiconfiguration Hartree-Fock method within the framework of the Breit-Pauli Hamiltonian. Therefore, the most important configuration interaction and relativistic effects have been included. Comparisons with other available works are presented. For some M1 and E2 lines the considered transition probabilities are reported for the first time

Abstract Using proton-proton collision data, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 9 fb−1 collected with the LHCb detector, seven decay modes of the $$ {\mathrm{B}}_{\mathrm{c}}^{+} $$ B c + meson into a J/ψ or ψ(2S) meson and three charged hadrons, kaons or pions, are studied. The decays $$ {\mathrm{B}}_{\mathrm{c}}^{+} $$ B c + → (ψ(2S) → J/ψπ+π−)π+, $$ {\mathrm{B}}_{\mathrm{c}}^{+} $$ B c + → ψ(2S)π+π−π+, $$ {\mathrm{B}}_{\mathrm{c}}^{+} $$ B c + → J/ψK+π−π+ and $$ {\mathrm{B}}_{\mathrm{c}}^{+} $$ B c + → J/ψK+K−K+ are observed for the first time, and evidence for the $$ {\mathrm{B}}_{\mathrm{c}}^{+} $$ B c + → ψ(2S)K+K−π+, decay is found, where J/ψ and ψ(2S) mesons are reconstructed in their dimuon decay modes. The ratios of branching fractions between the different $$ {\mathrm{B}}_{\mathrm{c}}^{+} $$ B c + decays are reported as well as the fractions of the decays proceeding via intermediate resonances. The results largely support the factorisation approach used for a theoretical description of the studied decays.

The spectra currently emerging from modern ground- and space-based astronomical instruments are of exceptionally high quality and resolution. To meaningfully analyse these spectra, researchers utilise complex modelling codes to replicate the observations. The main inputs to these codes are atomic data such as excitation and photoionisation cross sections, as well as radiative transition probabilities, energy levels, and line strengths. In this publication, the current capabilities of the numerical methods and computer packages used in the generation of these data are discussed. Particular emphasis is given to Fe-peak species and the heavy systems of tungsten and molybdenum. Some of the results presented to highlight certain issues and/or advances have already been published in the literature, while other sections present new recently evaluated atomic data for the first time.

Abstract The Cabibbo-suppressed decay $$ {\Lambda}_{\mathrm{b}}^0 $$ Λ b 0 → χc1pπ− is observed for the first time using data from proton-proton collisions corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 6 fb−1, collected with the LHCb detector at a centre-of-mass energy of 13 TeV. Evidence for the $$ {\Lambda}_{\mathrm{b}}^0 $$ Λ b 0 → χc2pπ− decay is also found. Using the $$ {\Lambda}_{\mathrm{b}}^0 $$ Λ b 0 → χc1pK− decay as normalisation channel, the ratios of branching fractions are measured to be$$ {\displaystyle \begin{array}{c}\frac{\mathcal{B}\left({\Lambda}_{\mathrm{b}}^0\to {\upchi}_{\mathrm{c}1}{\mathrm{p}\uppi}^{-}\right)}{\mathcal{B}\left({\Lambda}_{\mathrm{b}}^0\to {\upchi}_{\mathrm{c}1}{\mathrm{p}\mathrm{K}}^{-}\right)}=\left(6.59\pm 1.01\pm 0.22\right)\times {10}^{-2},\\ {}\frac{\mathcal{B}\left({\Lambda}_{\mathrm{b}}^0\to {\upchi}_{\mathrm{c}2}{\mathrm{p}\uppi}^{-}\right)}{\mathcal{B}\left({\Lambda}_{\mathrm{b}}^0\to {\upchi}_{\mathrm{c}1}{\mathrm{p}\uppi}^{-}\right)}=0.95\pm 0.30\pm 0.04\pm 0.04,\\ {}\frac{\mathcal{B}\left({\Lambda}_{\mathrm{b}}^0\to {\upchi}_{\mathrm{c}2}{\mathrm{p}\mathrm{K}}^{-}\right)}{\mathcal{B}\left({\Lambda}_{\mathrm{b}}^0\to {\upchi}_{\mathrm{c}1}{\mathrm{p}\mathrm{K}}^{-}\right)}=1.06\pm 0.05\pm 0.04\pm 0.04,\end{array}} $$ B Λ b 0 → χ c 1 pπ − B Λ b 0 → χ c 1 pK − = 6.59 ± 1.01 ± 0.22 × 10 − 2 , B Λ b 0 → χ c 2 pπ − B Λ b 0 → χ c 1 pπ − = 0.95 ± 0.30 ± 0.04 ± 0.04 , B Λ b 0 → χ c 2 pK − B Λ b 0 → χ c 1 pK − = 1.06 ± 0.05 ± 0.04 ± 0.04 , where the first uncertainty is statistical, the second is systematic and the third is due to the uncertainties in the branching fractions of χc1,2→ J/ψγ decays.

AbstractOrganic near-infrared room temperature phosphorescence materials have unparalleled advantages in bioimaging due to their excellent penetrability. However, limited by the energy gap law, the near-infrared phosphorescence materials (>650 nm) are very rare, moreover, the phosphorescence lifetimes of these materials are very short. In this work, we have obtained organic room temperature phosphorescence materials with long wavelengths (600/657–681/732 nm) and long lifetimes (102–324 ms) for the first time through the guest-host doped strategy. The guest molecule has sufficient conjugation to reduce the lowest triplet energy level and the host assists the guest in exciton transfer and inhibits the non-radiative transition of guest excitons. These materials exhibit good tissue penetration in bioimaging. Thanks to the characteristic of long lifetime and long wavelength emissive phosphorescence materials, the tumor imaging in living mice with a signal to background ratio value as high as 43 is successfully realized. This work provides a practical solution for the construction of organic phosphorescence materials with both long wavelengths and long lifetimes.

In 2014 BESIII collected a data sample of 567 [Formula: see text] at [Formula: see text] = 4.6 GeV, which is just above the [Formula: see text] pair production threshold. By analyzing this data sample, we have measured the absolute branching fractions for many decays of [Formula: see text] for the first time. These decays include the semileptonic decays of [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text], the hadronic decays of [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text] and inclusive decay [Formula: see text] + anything. The decays of [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text] are observed for the first time and the others are measured with significantly improved precision. These results are important to benefit the development of the related theories, and provide important inputs for both charmed baryons and [Formula: see text] physics.

Abstract The decays $$ {\mathrm{B}}_{\mathrm{s}}^0 $$ B s 0 → J/ψπ+π−K+K− are studied using a data set corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 9 fb−1, collected with the LHCb detector in proton-proton collisions at centre-of-mass energies of 7, 8 and 13 TeV. The decays $$ {\mathrm{B}}_{\mathrm{s}}^0 $$ B s 0 → $$ \mathrm{J}/{\uppsi \mathrm{K}}^{\ast 0}{\overline{\mathrm{K}}}^{\ast 0} $$ J / ψK ∗ 0 K ¯ ∗ 0 and $$ {\mathrm{B}}_{\mathrm{s}}^0 $$ B s 0 → χc1(3872)K+K−, where the K+K−pair does not originate from a ϕ meson, are observed for the first time. Precise measurements of the ratios of branching fractions between intermediate χc1(3872)ϕ, $$ \mathrm{J}/{\uppsi \mathrm{K}}^{\ast 0}{\overline{\mathrm{K}}}^{\ast 0} $$ J / ψK ∗ 0 K ¯ ∗ 0 , ψ(2S)ϕ and χc1(3872)K+K− states are reported. A structure, denoted as X(4740), is observed in the J/ψϕ mass spectrum and, assuming a Breit-Wigner parameterisation, its mass and width are determined to be$$ {\displaystyle \begin{array}{c}{m}_{\mathrm{X}(4740)}=4741\pm 6\pm 6\kern0.5em \mathrm{MeV}/{c}^2,\\ {}{\Gamma}_{\mathrm{X}(4740)}=53\pm 15\pm 11\kern0.5em \mathrm{MeV},\end{array}} $$ m X 4740 = 4741 ± 6 ± 6 MeV / c 2 , Γ X 4740 = 53 ± 15 ± 11 MeV , where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic. In addition, the most precise single measurement of the mass of the $$ {\mathrm{B}}_{\mathrm{s}}^0 $$ B s 0 meson is performed and gives a value of$$ {m}_{{\mathrm{B}}_{\mathrm{s}}^0}=5366.98\pm 0.07\pm 0.13\kern0.5em \mathrm{MeV}/{c}^2. $$ m B s 0 = 5366.98 ± 0.07 ± 0.13 MeV / c 2 .

Abstract Radiative lifetimes of 19 levels in Re I were measured using the time-resolved laser-induced fluorescence method. As far as we know, 15 results are reported for the first time. By combining the experimental lifetimes determined from the present work with theoretical branching fractions obtained by a pseudo-relativistic Hartree–Fock model including core-polarization contributions, a new set of semi-empirical transition probabilities and oscillator strengths for 47 Re I lines from 18 newly measured levels were derived.
