This chapter introduces the hybrid GLW information infrastructure as an alternative to proprietary-only information infrastructures with lower costs. The author argues that the use of FLOSS servers in a client- server infrastructure reduces the transaction costs relative to the data processing and the contract management that organizations have to support, preserving the investment already made with the installed base of clients in comparison to the use of proprietary managed servers. Transaction costs of two realworld proprietary infrastructures, Netware 5.0 and Windows NT 4.0, and of GLW, all with Windows 98 clients, are described and compared to give elements for the reader to analyze and decide.

The rapid development of computer technology and information greatly helps work in storing, accessing to data processing becomes faster and easier, this has triggered various fields in utilizing this with the use of computer-based information systems, especially for intelligence units in western security police. The system that will be created uses access to the virtual host-based client server. Modeling used UML modeling, this system is built using PHP programming language and MYSQL database. The results of the study show that the information system designed can process criminal data and is able to be implemented at the research site..

Yayasan Pembina masjid (YPM) Salman ITB is the foundation that manages the activities of religious service. The process of recording transactions in both of revenue and expenditure on the ledgers are still using Microsoft Office Excel as a tool for data processing. Financial statements prepared by the YPM Salman ITB is not fully using the islamic principles. ABSTRAKPAUD Uswatun Hasanah Kota Bengkulu merupakan salah satu lembaga pendidikan yang menyelenggarakan Program TK, Kober, TPA, SPS. Selama ini proses pengolahan data di PAUD masih menggunakan cara konvensional yaitu dengan mengisi formulir pendaftaran calon peserta didik, pendataan calon peserta didik, guru, hingga pembayaran uang rutin SPP. Dengan proses pengolahan data tersebut, terdapat masalah yang muncul yaitu sering terjadi kehilangan arsip data. Sistem pengolahan data terpadu berbasis client server pada PAUD Uswatun Hasanah Bengkulu dibuat menggunakan bahasa pemrograman PHP dan Database MySQL. Aplikasi ini digunakan untuk membantu proses pengolahan data, sehingga mempermudah admin dalam proses pengarsipan dan pengambilan data. Kata Kunci : Client Server, PHP dan mySQL ABSTRACTPAUD Uswatun Hasanah Bengkulu City is one of the educational institutions that organizes TK, Kober, TPA, SPS Programs. During this time the data processing in PAUD still uses conventional methods, namely by filling in the registration forms of prospective students, data collection of prospective students, teachers, to routine payment of SPP money. With the data processing, there is a problem that arises that is often the loss of data files. Integrated client server based data processing system in Uswatun Hasanah PAUD Bengkulu was made using the PHP programming language and MySQL Database. Currently the development of information technology increasingly widespread, this is in line with the development of computers that are increasingly rapidly. Various technologies can now be created so as to facilitate all human activity. Sophistication of information technology has now become one of the requirements that must be met in order to keep up with technology. Technology and information that can not be separated from one another. But now there are many companies that have not implemented such a system because they various things. One problem is the lack of knowledge about the company's computer system, resulting in the company using the manual method, for example in the process of data processing. In this case PT. Citra Riau Sarana as one of the companies engaged in plantations, especially in the buying and selling palm oil CPO (Crude Palm Oil), which is still occurring problems in the data processing is still manual, so experiencing difficulties and frequent errors in data processing. The method used is the method of data collection by observation, interviews, library research, design models described using data flow diagrams (DAD) and entity relationship diagram (ERD). This application was built using Delphi 7 and SQL Server 2005. Applications that use the Desktop and Client-Server based, hoped to use this application the Company may reduce the level of unwanted errors and speed up data processing.

The management of Land and Building Certificates at Universitas Malikussaleh is still using a manual library in Biro Perlengkapan which contains some problem whereas it can be burned accidentally refers to fire case in 2017 in Rektorat Building at Universitas Malikussaleh. Given the problem faced by the staff in Biro Perlengkapan, the authors idea is to create a database-based data processing system, the authors designed an integrated information system which be able to anticipated such problem in the future and saving time to collecting important certificates such Land and Building Certificates at Universitas Malikussaleh and protecting them with Honey Encryption algorithm. The information system based on desktop and works as a client-server system. The result  of this research provide that the honey encryption algorithm can protect the data and it can solve the problem in management system of land and building certificates.

Applications that provide online services are becoming more popular every day and a part of desktop apps respectively decrease. The search of information, processing documents, creating images and even user games find their place on the Internet. All these things are built on basis of the client-server data transfering model which nowadays is main for most of modern applications starting directly from the web segment ending with mobile devices.The problem should be talk about is low level of using online applications culture in favor of familiar desktop versions of data processing applications. In particular it’s about text-processing tools. Despite the part of web applications increase daily, the survey indicates that most part of researchers still prefer offline redactors for their work. Unfortunately this approach does not ensure user’s data from corruption, it doesn’t provide an opportunity to cooperate for joint work for researchers and bears lots of other risks which can be reduced by using online tools.Considering all the above the main topic of the article is the use of client-server model in the development of referative managers and some work-processes automatization. The client-server architecture, actual problems of science works processing sphere and some tools for text-processing are considered in the article.ONAFT Reference Manager project based on client-server architecture and developed to eliminate existing problems of the sphere will be mentioned as well.

Listing of Computer Usage in De La Salle University Manado Computer Laboratory is still using the conventional method. Until this time, that method has felt efficient. But, if we look further along with data processing matter, the inefficiency can be seen. This Client-Server based Database of Computer Usage Application is designed on top of that. Hopefully this application could improve the control of the computer usage in computer laboratory and ease those kind of work.
