Abstract Purpose Intracranial aneurysms can be treated micro-surgically. This procedure involves an appropriate head position of the patient and a proper craniotomy. These steps enable a proper access, facilitating the subsequent steps. To train the access planning process, we propose a VR-based training system. Method We designed and implemented an immersive VR access simulation, where the user is surrounded by a virtual operating room, including medical equipment and virtual staff. The patient’s head can be positioned via hand rotation and an arbitrary craniotomy contour can be drawn. The chosen access can be evaluated by exposing the aneurysm using a microscopic view. Results The evaluation of the simulation took place in three stages: testing the simulation using the think-aloud method, conducting a survey and examining the precision of drawing the contour. Although there are differences between the virtual interactions and their counterparts in reality, the participants liked the immersion and felt present in the operating room. The calculated surface dice similarity coefficient, Hausdorff distance and feedback of the participants show that the difficulty of drawing the craniotomy is appropriate. Conclusion The presented training simulation for head positioning and access planning benefits from the immersive environment. Thus, it is an appropriate training for novice neurosurgeons and medical students with the goal to improve anatomical understanding and to become aware of the importance of the right craniotomy hole.

As the world economy is becoming globalized, more domestic businesses are branching to overseas. Thereupon the number of expatriate workers who are getting assigned to overseas are increasing, and needs for systematic selection and training system for overseas expatriate workers are in dire needs. Nevertheless researches in this area are not enough and still inadequate level domestically. Therefore we developed the Global Competency Scale (GCS) with the purpose of the local businesses to use it to predict the possibility of successful overseas job performance and to select and train the right overseas expatriate workers. To develop the scale we conducted researches on documentations and interviews with former overseas expatriate workers and expatriate program managers in human resource department(HRD). Based on these results we developed 14 initial factors with 138 items. Using theses items we conducted both on & offline survey to people who work at global and multinational companies in Korea. With the 381 people's survey results, we implemented the cross validity. After cross validating we generated final 6 factors with 24 items. The GCS score we developed in this research shows that the degree of their goal achievement during past overseas experience and level of their satisfaction was significantly high in those criterion variables proving the criterion-related validity. Especially the GCS we developed in this research shows that after controlling the effect of English skills, still appear to have significant effect on criterion variables. Finally based on research results we discussed academical and operational implication and limitations for the further researches.

Robotic assisted rehabilitation, taking advantage of neuroplasticity, has been shown to be helpful in regaining some degree of gait performance. Robot-applied movement along with voluntary efferent motor commands coordinated with the robot allows optimization of motion training. We present the design and characteristics of a novel foot-based 6-degree-of-freedom (DOF) robot-assisted gait training system where the limb trajectory mirrored the normal walking gait. The goal of this study was to compare robot-assisted gait to normal walking gait, where the limb moved independently without robotics. Motion analysis was used to record the three-dimensional kinematics of the right lower extremity. Walking motion data were determined and transferred to the robotic motion application software for inclusion in the robotic trials where the robot computer software was programmed to produce a gait pattern in the foot equivalent to the gait pattern recorded from the normal walking gait trial. Results demonstrated that ankle; knee and hip joint motions produced by the robot are consistent with the joint motions in walking gait. We believe that this control algorithm provides a rationale for use in future rehabilitation, targeting robot-assisted training in people with neuromuscular disabilities such as stroke.

The way in which the head is controlled in roll was investigated by dissociating the body axis and the gravito-inertial force orientation. Seated subjects (N = 8) were requested to align their head with their trunk, 30° to the left, 30° to the right or with the gravito-inertial vector, before, during (Per Rotation), after off-center rotation and on a tilted chair without rotation (Tilted). The gravito-inertial vector angle during rotation and the chair tilt angle were identical (17°). The subjects were either in total darkness or facing a visual frame that was fixed to the trunk. Both final error and within-subject variability of head positioning increased when the body axis and the gravito-inertial vector were dissociated (Per Rotation and Tilted). However, the behavior was different depending on whether the subjects were in the Tilted or Per Rotation conditions. The presentation of the visual frame reduced the within-subject variability and modified the perception of the gravito-inertial vector's orientation on the tilted chair. As head positioning with respect to the body and sensing of the gravito-inertial vector are modified when body axis and gravito-inertial vector orientation are dissociated, the observed decrease in performance while executing motor tasks in a gravito-inertial field may be at least in part attributed to the inaccurate sensing of head position.

The prevailing practice in new areal real estate development is for public and private actors to perform their duties by turns. Yet, the planning process could benefit from simultaneous contributions from society and developers and their designers. That, again, requires that the municipality selects the private partner consortia prior to completion of the local detailed plan through a competition in order to find the most potential actors and the best ideas for implementation of an urban structure of high quality. Candidates will be attracted by offering them the right to implement a residential/business block as a developer. The several blocks involved in an areal development project, and the laboriousness of producing competitive solutions, require a well planned selection process. A novel multi‐target competition process was developed which is presented in this paper with special emphasis on the allocation algorithms that allow selecting the most qualified competitors for parallel follow-up competitions from among a large group of registered candidates. The approach was tested in an actual real estate development project in the municipal district of Vuores which was the original reason for launching the study. The rapid growth of the coffee business in Indonesia especially JABODETABEK, has resulted in very tight competition for entrepreneurs in the coffee sector, this has made coffee shop entrepreneurs have to be able and must have the right strategy in dealing with this competition. The purpose of this study is to determine the Marketing Public Relations strategy of Kopi Kenangan in building brand awareness for the last 3 years. The theory used in this research is Whalen's 7 step Strategic Planning Process. The method used in this research is qualitative with the case study method. The data collection technique used was in-depth interviews. The results of this study indicate that the Marketing Public Relations of Kopi Kenangan wants to instill the mindset of "Affordable with High Quality Coffee" into the minds of consumers by using the Marketing Public Relations strategy consisting of pull, push and pass carried out by PR & Communications Kopi Kenangan. So that the process of maintaining brand awareness starts from not realizing the original brand of Kopi Kenangan, to the peak of the mind which means the success of Kopi Kenangan as a coffee brand that is able to develop and compete.Pesatnya pertumbuhan bisnis kopi yang ada di Indonesia terutama JABODETABEK sehingga menimbulkan persaingan yang sangat ketat bagi para pengusaha bidang kopi, hal tersebut membuat para pengusaha kedai kopi harus mampu dan harus mempunyai strategi yang tepat dalam menghadapi persaingan tersebut. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa Marketing Public Relations Kopi Kenangan ingin menanamkan mindset “Affordable with High Quality Coffee” kedalam benak konsumen dengan menggunakan strategi Marketing Public Relations yang terdiri dari pull, push and pass yang dilakukan oleh PR & Communications Kopi Kenangan. Sehingga proses untuk mempertahankan brand awareness yang dimulai dari tidak menyadari merek awal Kopi Kenangan berdiri, sampai pada puncak pikiran yang berarti keberhasilan Kopi Kenangan sebagai brand kopi yang mampu berkembang dan bersaing.

Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) is the process of managing the entire lifecycle of a product from its conception, through design and manufacture, to service and disposal. One of the toughest aspects of PLM implementations is choosing the appropriate software. In order to choose the right software that meets the business requirements, it is necessary to have a systematic view to serve as an evaluation guideline for advice from an independent third-party and that can guide decision makers through a structured process and understands the entire PLM market. This is an important aspect of the PLM assessment and planning process. This study built a systems model to fulfill the PLM software selection and evaluation needs.

This chapter by James Goldrick examines the creation of a sophisticated learning and training system for the anti-U-boat war, which is one of the most significant elements of the Atlantic campaign, critical to the effectiveness of the escort units of the RN and RCN. This system's development took place as both services were forced to adapt rapidly to profound changes in their operational environments. That development faced many challenges, not only from a scarcity of resources, but from the necessity to develop sufficient understanding of the problem. The "master-apprentice" culture of professionalization managed through long service would not serve under the pressure of the oceanic small-ship war. The effort had to be industrialized. Acceptable levels of collective efficiency only became possible when the right equipment and training assets, sufficiently – even if barely – experienced personnel, and proven tactical doctrine could be brought together to provide the necessary fidelity within the training experience. From the outset, this would always be a much more complex and resource-intensive operation than the straightforward working-up of individual units.

This study aims to design and implement a new collaborative and integrated multi-agent system (MAS) to support chief executive officers (CEOs) of small-medium enterprises (SMEs) in formulating and implementing the right technology strategy (TS) in the renewable energy (RE) sector. In this regard, the TS requirements and methods are examined, and TSs are presented in two types of general TSs and specific TSs, including research strategies, investment strategies, and technology sourcing strategies, and also, system architecture is explained. Developing a novel comprehensive TS model for SMEs in the RE industry to provide a clear explanation of the systematic TS planning process and designing and implementing a distributed support system for facilitating collaboration between decision makers and TS negotiation are the most important contributions of this paper. In addition to developing existing knowledge about the importance of MAS for TS planning, the present study makes CEOs able to improve the process.

As preterm birth rates are globally increasing, together with research on preterms’ peculiar needs, neonatologists are still facing the challenge of how to properly feed them. The need to strike a balance between excessive catch-up growth and extrauterine growth retardation, both leading to adverse outcomes, is made even more difficult by the broad range of preterms’ needs. Although mother’s fresh milk is undoubtedly the best nourishment, its availability during hospital stay is often lower than recommended, and its fortification at discharge is still an open issue. Formula milks are available as an alternative to breast milk. However, choosing the right formula requires a thorough evaluation of the infant’s perinatal history and targets. Last but not least, adequate timing and initiation of weaning in premature babies are still a poorly explored matter. This narrative review aims at evaluating the multitude of issues to consider when feeding preterms in the three stages of their first life: in-hospital care, discharge, and, eventually, weaning. Given the current absence of internationally shared guidelines, understanding the potential pitfalls of preterms’ nutrition could help us trace the right path for the right preterm.

A training need assessment is a strategic step to find out the right training program for the organization and employees. In addition, to produce effective training, training professionals need to emphasize doing the right things the first time. The type of data used in this study is qualitative, and the source of data in this study is the source of literature. Data analysis technique used in this research is descriptive analysis technique to describe and describe object to be studied. The purpose of this descriptive is to make the description, description or painting systematically, factually and accurately about the facts, properties and relationships between the phenomena investigated. The study consists of evaluating the components of the training system and planning of training needs based on competence. The evaluation is aimed to find out the training system and human resource development within an organization that includes the components of the training system.
